I remember crying while driving, by error into Birmingham and then parking in a dark dodgy area too scared to leave the car to ask directions. Just keep safe and find somewhere less stressful to drive in. It can be more tiring than a week at work if you are driving in a panic. We all adore you so we want you to be happy and well.
Next time for Florence try Villa Costanza off A1autostrada go in by the T1 Tram about 20 minutes to city Train station. Then it's a 20 minute walk to Uffizi Gallery,Palazzo Vecchio and Ponte Vecchio Bridge. Italians think racing car drivers. On a zebra crossing just make eye contact with car drivers and start walking across very big fine for a driver if they hit you. To get outside Schengen zone take a ferry to Albania,Montenegro. Also you can use a ferry to Greece and drive north for Albania,Montenegro or east to Bulgaria and Turkey. My last Motorhome trip was down to Sicily.
your both loved and gorgeous chico ,i follow your journeys and really enjoy them . my anxiety sets though when you go out without chico .i know you make sure he is cosy and safe but i dont trust other people . my chi is my world and i love chico . i rather him tucked up in his bag with you . moto home can be replaced but not chico . thank you for everything you share its brilliant .

I first went on a school trip to Italy when I was 14 and again, many years later, in 2001 on two separate trips with my late husband David. The zebra crossings were manic then together with the traffic and mental drivers, although we never had a car just used public transport. I think one of the most busy places was Rome but I had always wanted to visit the Colosseum and the Forum and wasn’t disappointed. Florence and Pisa we also loved, so that is why I am enjoying reliving my memories through you two. Thank you.

A little tip. When visiting a new city, we look for the student areas ( usually close to a university). Usually vibrant and cheaper for food and drink.

Well done Mark for getting safely through that city. Those are absolutely mental drivers. Florence looks beautiful so was worth the crazy drive and great value those pizza's. Mark the trousers rolled up not such a good look but who hasn't had a food stain on their jumper before.
As a general rule on the crossings in Italy…. As long as you give them to time to stop, they will. So check they can stop, and walk out in front of them - they will not stop for you on a crossing unless you make them. So it’s a case of whoever blinks first!! 😂😂😂 And with regards to the driving standards - the further south you go, the worst the driving gets. Around Naples it’s bonkers! I drove the Amalfi Coast a few years ago - had great fun keeping up with the locals. Close your eyes and hope for the best seems to work. (Works in a hire car anyway!) Italian drivers - Give them an inch, they’ll take a mile! Haha Keep safe, and happy travels!!
We moved to Italy 12 years ago. Forget everything about driving , parking and crossing roads in the UK. Basically there are no rules. Always be prepared for them to do the unexpected, and they will. Give them space. They never, ever indicate. ( If you see anyone indicate they will be a tourist ). Parking anywhere, a special favourite is parking On zebra crossings. Tailgating always. Saying all that, Italian drivers are very forgiving, they might blast you with their horn if you dont pull away from the lights the Second they change green but most other mistakes are shrugged off. Just need to keep your wits about you all the time.

Welcome to manic italy, they are all high on coffee, 😂 i drove the length of the Almalfi coast, you just have to drive likevthey do, horn gets a lot of use 😂, great vlog
Been to the leaning tower supposedly quite a few pick pockets there so we were told one of the stops on the cruise and fair play to mark for being able to cope with other drivers 👍
Another fab vlog guy's, we both love watching you both and chico. We did Italy last year and went all the way down to pompey. We loved it but had our secret weapon for getting around... a new Lambretta petrol scooter. Jane suffers from vertigo so is not very good on bikes or scooters. She jumps on the back of me and feels really safe. I know where you are coming from with the traffic! It's dog eat dog out there. The petrol scooter has been a game changer for us Rome was really nuts but we did the colosseum. That was really impressive with all the other landmarks there. I got told off for taking a photo of the statue of David by Michael Angelo I think. I didn’t realise you couldn’t take pictures in the museum. lol I think you take your life in your hands crossing the roads. We had fantastic Pizza in Florence 🍕🍕🍕.Thankyou for sharing your travels x👍👍👍
That was very enjoyable apart from your drive the buildings look like cardboard cut out but beautiful chicco howling to sirens we had a dog that used to do it to ice cream vans chimes x
That traffic looks insane the way they are riding those bikes on and out. It's a good job Marks a good driver not easy in a Motor Home with it's size. Florence looks amazing that building with those extra large stone looked really odd never seen a building like that before. Mark comes out with some great comments you can't help but laugh.

I can so sympathise with you Lisa, there are some crazy drivers in Italy. The rules of the road just don’t seem to matter. Our italian friends told us that the insurance in Italy is high so more often than not the drivers just sort things between themselves if they have a bump. In all the years we have been going over we have seen very little road rage. Florence is beautiful, it’s a shame you didn’t have time to see more, the Ponte Vecchio is amazing. Safe travels xx

That was very enjoyable apart from your drive the buildings look like cardboard cut out but beautiful chicco howling to sirens we had a dog that used to do it to ice cream vans chimes x

That traffic looks insane the way they are riding those bikes on and out. It's a good job Marks a good driver not easy in a Motor Home with it's size. Florence looks amazing that building with those extra large stone looked really odd never seen a building like that before. Mark comes out with some great comments you can't help but laugh.

Hello peeps! Ooh that driving does look scary! But Florence looks lovely! And those retro and charity shops! Woohoo! I've been to Pisa. My niece was married there about 15 year ago! My experience of Italy is :- amazing place amazing people but on the roads whether walking or driving you just take your life in your hands

I remember the Panini sticker books as my brothers used to get them, usually it was for collecting football stickers for the world Cup etc.
And that was a cheeky fountain, but not as amusing as the bitty one 😉 😂
I can so sympathise with you Lisa, there are some crazy drivers in Italy. The rules of the road just don’t seem to matter. Our italian friends told us that the insurance in Italy is high so more often than not the drivers just sort things between themselves if they have a bump. In all the years we have been going over we have seen very little road rage. Florence is beautiful, it’s a shame you didn’t have time to see more, the Ponte Vecchio is amazing. Safe travels xx

Hi guys, thank you for another AMAZING vlog, what a beautiful place florence is, first thing i said about the building that looks like paper was, ohh that looks like a film set, that food looked lush, was those potatoes garlicky? 😋 and after living in Manchester over 25 year, i wish i had a pound for every time i was in AFFLECKS PALACE, i loved that place 😊 and i am sorry mark, but i near wet myself when you walked into that chain 😂😂 all the motorhomes that came here for Easter are still here 😮 safe Driving! lots of love from sunny Drummore/ Stranraer 😘 xx

Yes Mark, Panini Stickers could make or break a friendship when I was at primary school. I still remember my first ever doubler Panini sticker it was Peter Withe of Aston Villa. Then those Garbage Pail Kids stickers came along and I wasn't allowed to buy them :(
