would also like to see the formats the cards actually have points in or their numbers be bolded or a different colour! so it's not so hard to parse the whole thing
Eh, I think the points font is fine but I agree with the other person that said either grey out or use a hyphen for formats with no points, looks cleaner that way
This was my FAVORITE set when it came out. I was insanely into it. Spent all my money trying to ger a Lotus Vale, which to me was the coolest card Id ever seen. The nostalgia runs strong with me for this entire block, but Weatherlight was my entire Magic life for like 3 months.
I was very fond of it too, mainly because, flavor-wise, it felt a lot like Legends 2. Obviously the strongest cards in Legends are way more powerful than the strongest cards in Weatherlight, but the worst cards in Legends are also a lot worse than anything here. I also started reading ElfQuest around the time this set came out, so I was surfing quite the wave of nerd endorphins.
It has the best card in all of MtG history: Gaea's Blessing. (It's an obnoxious card that screws over mill and graveyard stuff, and also allows you to recur things in your own deck, AND is a cantrip on top of it.)
Firestorm requires there to be X targets on the battlefield, not up to X if I'm not mistaken. Makes it a little less powerful. And it obviously combos well with madness cards.
Nice new look! Just a suggestion, I would move Vintage to the bottom left under Standard/Modern/Legacy and put Pioneer in its slot, because it's weird not to see Vintage next to Legacy in the list.
The transitions are far better now. The panels with data still look a bit "crowdy" to me (in particular, the leaf next to the coin that has two more leaves in it is quite redundant), but overall it's improved a lot.
This may be the wrong move, but I think it'd be interesting to show the most-recent printing of cards in these set-specific lists. Maybe just the most-recent standard set printing? Idk, maybe the set's printing is the way. I'd be down to hear arguments for or against either case.
If I could just add one more piece of advice, maybe formats the card isn't legal in should be marked as red or gray, so it shows the distinction between simply not being played in said format, as opposed to not being legal in it?
I know that this is so beside the point, but technically, the number of cards that you can discard to firestorm is limited to the number of available targets. So, you cannot discard your entire hand in all cases. So…. Um…. Whatever…. One with nothing is still horrible!
If I am not mistaken, Firestorm actually requires X targets, so it can neither discard your full hand nor be a win condition, unless you find 7 or 20 targets...
Man when this set came out I got every buried alive I could trade for. I have up insane power cards just so I could animate dead or necromancy Lord of the pit or spirit of the night. That was a golden time for graveyard decks.
Is there a reason the 1st tier top 8 number + the 2nd top 8 does not add up to the total in the formats columns. For example here: 4:17 In this example 1st tier (8) + 2nd tier (23) = 31. However in formats there are 17 in standard and 22 in modern equaling 39. Why is there a difference?
In the Lord of the Rings Gift Bundle I got on my birthday last month, there was exactly one card from The List from among all of the packs, and that card was Doomsday. Well, if I was gonna get just one List card, that's certainly not a bad one by any means.
While I do enjoy the new visual display style I'm not a huge fan of the 'overdone' animations, the spinning is quite jarring so a fade or just scrolling would be a nicer viewing experience. The information box seems cluttered and the point values are also a little harder to read with the box around and perhaps the font sizes need adjustment. There's a lot of space available in the top left to spread out the information.
New format is a lot cleaner after the tweaks. The cyan reads really well, and the transitions are smooth. Only feedback now is maybe make the points slide a bit larger as it's a bit small to read and looks almost cluttered. This is me being picky though, as always we love the video and appreciate all the work you do for the community and how you care for our feedback 💞
I really prefer the old format. The new graphics are incredibly distracting. The spinning coin for example draws the eye away. I realize these graphics must have been very expensive and so there might be a sunk cost thing going on, but I'm really urging you not to try to fix something that wasn't broken in the first place.
i like the new format but i think the listed.. formats could be in different colors. along with the scores being in different colors like, 1st tier red, 2nd tier blue, total purple and have the total score be larger.
Good New design, I like the transition of the cards of the List, but maybe the Animation for the related cards is too much. Also I like the suggestion in the Comments to grey out 00 to highlight More in which formats the cards were successful
I have a request. After Spice8rack put out his video and with other channels for lore like Magic Arcanum, can you do a top 10 “story spotlight” cards? I know a it’s relatively recent thing, but I think it would be a cool watch.
Is there a playlist for the "top ten sets" or something? You have like a million playlist and i dont wanna look for particular set via blocks, just binge the series Edit: found it!
I can't include every format. I know Premodern is fairly popular, but I have to draw a line somewhere, and it makes sense for that line to be "Formats officially sanctioned by Wizards of the Coadt."
Why are the format counters aligned and the point counters are not? Why do the format counters have this distracting yellow border with a line width that is thinner than all other lines? Why are the format counters prefixed with a 0? Is this a digital clock? Inconsistency incoming for 100+
The cyan reads much better than the blue text from previous recent videos, good work.
Agreed 👌
Love the new layout, though I wouldnt put 00 in formats where the card has no points. Just put a hyphen to indicate no points, it's clearer
Much easier to read immediately. Greying out those formats would make it even easier to see.
I agree with this. Probably the cleanest look
Nice new style, one recommendation, make the points column one or two font sizes larger, just so they stand out a bit more
Also, I personally loved having the old intro with him talking into the camera. New style of the list is nice though!
would also like to see the formats the cards actually have points in or their numbers be bolded or a different colour! so it's not so hard to parse the whole thing
Eh, I think the points font is fine but I agree with the other person that said either grey out or use a hyphen for formats with no points, looks cleaner that way
Oooooh, updated format looks cleeeeaan. I also love the animation as it fades in
This was my FAVORITE set when it came out. I was insanely into it. Spent all my money trying to ger a Lotus Vale, which to me was the coolest card Id ever seen. The nostalgia runs strong with me for this entire block, but Weatherlight was my entire Magic life for like 3 months.
That's a wonderful story, and trying to trade for what you wanted with everyone at the card shop was a mind game all it's own.
I was very fond of it too, mainly because, flavor-wise, it felt a lot like Legends 2. Obviously the strongest cards in Legends are way more powerful than the strongest cards in Weatherlight, but the worst cards in Legends are also a lot worse than anything here. @@fontainelefunk At a time when you could still trade for Strip Mines and Lotus Petals lol.
@@davidlundquist1979 I ran a shot D&D campaign based around the Mirage cycle plot that Summer break. Just for fun.
Who could guess that one day Null Rod would stop the One Ring.
Don't forget Karn, the Great Creator.
But it doesn't do anything!
Great new format. I love the individual set series you have been doing. Keep going!
It's better than the earlier attempt, for certain.
Firestorm requires there to be X targets on the battlefield, not up to X if I'm not mistaken. Makes it a little less powerful. And it obviously combos well with madness cards.

Dare I say it, but this new layout is now perfect. Almost as perfect as "Top 10 Vintage Cards (Minus Power 9)"!
The new layout is fire looks so good
This may be the wrong move, but I think it'd be interesting to show the most-recent printing of cards in these set-specific lists. Maybe just the most-recent standard set printing? Idk, maybe the set's printing is the way. I'd be down to hear arguments for or against either case.
Great work on the visuals, Nizza! And of course, quality work as always.
Thanks for going back to showing the first printing! 😊
This set popped the block format, made it nuts. The quick creatures and low cost efficient spells were pretty powerful for block.
Love to tweaks you’ve been making to the style, looking good!
I do miss the face cam in the beginning of the video though
really loving the new visual formating for these videos looks allot nicer and really smooths out the video
The new style is sweet!! Looks cool as hell
New format is great, good job on formatting Nizza!
love the new work appreciate it
New style looks great.
So many fun cards and great memories. I had a Firestorm deck. I jammed Gemstone Mine and Serenity in several decks.
If I could just add one more piece of advice, maybe formats the card isn't legal in should be marked as red or gray, so it shows the distinction between simply not being played in said format, as opposed to not being legal in it?
Has mindstone gotten any points in Historic? I’m guessing it will see some eventually with colorless storm
I like the new design ! One little recommendation : don't show the formats where the card has 0 point. It's easier to read and cleaner (for me)
Love the new format of these videos! Love looking at old sets of day's past too! Great job!
My favourite series you do! Totally fascinating
I know that this is so beside the point, but technically, the number of cards that you can discard to firestorm is limited to the number of available targets. So, you cannot discard your entire hand in all cases. So…. Um…. Whatever…. One with nothing is still horrible!
First time I'm seeing the new format! Very cool design, nice to see all of the stats.
Love the new layout, good work Nizzahon!
Love seeing Top Best/Worst for older sets! 😅😃
I really enjoy the bird and wildlife sounds at the beginning its neat.
Ayo data lookin fresh
I like the new format and the birds chirping in the intro.
Oh this new version of the new formatting looks way better than the last one. I like this
New layout with the re-added points per format is great
If I am not mistaken, Firestorm actually requires X targets, so it can neither discard your full hand nor be a win condition, unless you find 7 or 20 targets...
Man the art on peacekeeper is stunning
Love these videos about older sets!
Number 6 has one of the most stunning arts I've ever seen on a magic card!
Man when this set came out I got every buried alive I could trade for. I have up insane power cards just so I could animate dead or necromancy Lord of the pit or spirit of the night. That was a golden time for graveyard decks.
Love the new updates thank you for the content as always
the editing of this video is really good
Wow, I guessed the Number 1 card for Mirage, Visions, and Weatherlight. Granted each of those cards weren't surprising.
Love the new design.
I love the points per format addition
do you think you could make the total score bigger so it jumps out and is more readable?
Don't normally comment, but nice job on updating the new format quickly.
loving the new layout, and the points counter
Love the new graphics, one minor improvement for me would be to right align the point values, a little more readable at a glance.
1st tiver top8 is worth 2 points in his system. Thats why there are 2 tiers.
You're right, I didn't see I that way. I didn't think of the format numbers as points.
In the Lord of the Rings Gift Bundle I got on my birthday last month, there was exactly one card from The List from among all of the packs, and that card was Doomsday. Well, if I was gonna get just one List card, that's certainly not a bad one by any means.
Definitely digging the new “scoreboard” graphic. Keep up the good work as always!
Fresh new look, Nizza! Good stuff!

I still have an original Doomsday and we knew back then that this card had a ton of potential!
This was the set that was out when I started. Wish the game made me feel now like it did then.
I saw your "worst draft formats" yesterday. Ever thought of doing a top list of best formats? :)
Love the new format, it looks very clean!
DAMN lookin real fancy with this new layout, looks good
I like the new format and I appreciate you taking in feedback from the comments. I can't wait to see Teeka's Dragon in all the upcoming Top 10s
better than the last layout, but still waaaay too heavy on the animation side. only because you can do it doesn't mean you should.
I love the improvement to the new formatting, the only thing I’d recommend is removing the border around the number of points from each format
Like the new editing
Disrupt is great for the pulp fiction flavor text cube
Thanks for the Disrupt ❤
wasn't doomday a staple in the infamous cadaverousbloom combo deck?
No.
This was such a fun set when it came out.
i like the new format but i think the listed.. formats could be in different colors. along with the scores being in different colors like, 1st tier red, 2nd tier blue, total purple and have the total score be larger.
Great job my man love the new look
love the new style!!
I usually watch your video around lunch time, but it was late today...
ooooh love the new format
Woah! Great new graphics!
This looks great big guy
Still think the colours need some tweaking, but it is looking a lot better.
Scorched Ruins is probably my favorite card from this set.
Careful with those firestorms… it’s not “up to X targets” it’s “x targets.” if you discard five cards, you have to target five different things.
great new design!
great video 🤩
Good New design, I like the transition of the cards of the List, but maybe the Animation for the related cards is too much. Also I like the suggestion in the Comments to grey out 00 to highlight More in which formats the cards were successful
Wasn't mind stone just reprinted in DU or BRO?
So if I discard 40 cards to Firestorm I need 40 targets right?
If you're in a Commander game where you actually manage to get 40 cards in your hand, I'm guessing finding 40 targets won't be too difficult.
How many more sets have you still not done?
Most of them.
When it was still new, I thought Volcanic Dragon and Lotus Vale were the hot shit ❤
I'm afraid Elves hasn't been a prominent legacy deck for quite some time😢
You can only discard seven to Firestorm if there are seven targets.
love the vids
Ayyyyyu my favorite card in magic got numba 1
Firestorm is so broken, crazy.
Was it really nesseccary to show all prints of the one ring...? Before anyone could read the text
I have a request. After Spice8rack put out his video and with other channels for lore like Magic Arcanum, can you do a top 10 “story spotlight” cards? I know a it’s relatively recent thing, but I think it would be a cool watch.
Is there a playlist for the "top ten sets" or something? You have like a million playlist and i dont wanna look for particular set via blocks, just binge the series
Edit: found it!
Enjoy these videos.
Glad to hear it
Furnace is a big player in Pre-Modern, a format he should but does not include.
I can't include every format. I know Premodern is fairly popular, but I have to draw a line somewhere, and it makes sense for that line to be "Formats officially sanctioned by Wizards of the Coadt."
Why tf did that legacy delver deck run that first card? There’s way better graveyard hate lol
Why are the format counters aligned and the point counters are not? Why do the format counters have this distracting yellow border with a line width that is thinner than all other lines? Why are the format counters prefixed with a 0? Is this a digital clock? Inconsistency incoming for 100+
