It's easy to forget just how good this show was at using subtle dialogue to foreshadow things. It literally could be just one line of dialogue, yet it holds so much weight and meaning for what's to come. It's one of the reasons why I feel like I enjoyed the show the more I watched it. I might be in the minority of people who have watched this show more than once, but my 2nd viewing was far better than my 1st viewing lol. Great soldiers and great fighters are definitely very different things. The point of being a good soldier is working well together with the guy to your left and the guy to your right, and the three of you working well with the 50 people 50 feet over, and also the 50 people a few hundred feet back with the trebuchet, etc. A great fighter is terrifying to face across a room alone, even for a great soldier, but 500 great fighers vs 500 great soldiers in two units facing each other is a whole different matter.
The Unsullied are (in theory) unmatchable on the battlefield. But they haven't been on a battlefield in quite a while. They're being _police_ now, which is a _veeeery_ different job... they're a long way out of their element.

I've seen a lot of reactions of GoT and it's always interesting to see how many people go from hating Joffrey because of his cruelty to despising Tommen for his weakness. A lot of people even going as far as saying they prefer Joffrey over Tommen.
The sad reality is people will hold a greater grudge towards a leader like Tommen who is kind and well meaning but also weak over someone like Joffrey who is cruel but decisive.
Why do people tend to dislike weak leaders more than cruel ones? Perhaps it's because weakness can be seen as a failure of leadership, while cruelty is often attributed to individual character flaws. It's an interesting thought...

Its a misconception that the Unsullied are the 'best fighters'. They are the best soldiers. They are trained to work in large units with limited autonomy, to stand fast no matter the odds, to obey any order, ignore fatal wounds until their bodies collapse. But on an individual level, in a melee, they are less suited - their tactics and weaponry aren't designed for such fighting. And in the books its even suggested they make terrible guards and are mostly a prestige symbol for rich merchants who can afford them = they aren't good at socialising or determining what's appropriate (and default to 'kill what is in front of me' when threatened) and are prone to getting fat when not marching and fighting regularly.
Now Daenerys' Unsullied are a bit different from the norm, as they have been given their freedom and have been developing their own personalities and learning new techniques from the Dothraki and mercenaries they fight alongside. But I'd still say they are merely 'good' rather then being the unstoppable super soldiers their reputation might suggest.

But we have no idea what they will do, and clearly, in those last two books, George let get way out of hand, and now he can't finish. I understand why the show cut those two things because they're characters introduced so late in the story, and over a decade later, he hasn't written anything. I don't dislike those last two books, but they brought the story to a hault and introduced so many new characters and plots that Cleary the author can't finish, and he doesn't even have TV limitations.

Ser Grandfather going out like that is unacceptable. Yet another character D&D just didn’t bother with.

I really must say the show handled everything wrong in this episode. They still had the books to follow for the dorne stuff which is going bad. Also the whole faith thing was played differently as well. The Tyrell’s have the largest army in the kingdom. Then the mess of the harpys

@@Cream-2128 I thought this episode overall was really good so much stuff from those last two books is all tons of new characters over a decade later with half finished storylines the author still can't finish

@@jeffbachman2949I mean the dorne story is literally out there and got butchered bad including having Ellaria seeking vengeance. They literally ruin Barristan this episode. Also have the Cersei plot they didn’t execute very well.

@Cream-2128 Well, i definitely disagree about the Cersei stuff. I like all her stuff. Dorne isn't very good, but it doesn't bother me as much since I'm not the biggest fan in the books. It's introduced so late in the books, and it's all half finished storylines that now, a decade later, the author hasn't written anything. So I don't blame the show or cutting down on Dorne since it seems the author doesn't seem to have any idea what to do with them also. Barristan went out like a boss. I thought he killed like a dozen guys before he went. I feel like he's not going to be around much longer in the books also, but who knows since George seems to refuse to actually write them
