The Final Conflict: The Omen III Music Video (Jerry Goldsmith)

- 'The Final Conflict' is the third film in 'The Omen' series. I consider it to be the last of a trilogy that could have been great but ultimately wasn't, except for the music. The film itself isn't very good, there is some good stuff in it though. There's some well shot sequences, a good performance from Sam Neill as Damien and the great score by Jerry Goldsmith.
The story continues when Damien Thorn is an adult. Like his adoptive father he too is involved in politics, in fact he's very close with the President of the United States. As Damien's power grows so do the powers of good. Culminating in the Second Coming of Christ. Thorn knows that he has to kill Christ as an infant so that he can bring about the apocalypse. Meanwhile a group of priests has identified Thorn as the Antichrist. In their posession are the daggers of Megiddo with which they conspire to kill Damien before he can get to Christ.
The music for 'The Final Conflict: The Omen III' was composed by Jerry Goldsmith. The feel of the music is quite different from his first two scores for 'The Omen' and 'Damien'. This time he has created a much more developed theme for the evil that is Damien. The can hear that his power has grown.
'The Final Conflict: The Omen III' and its music belong to 20th Century Fox.
Only horror film I've ever seen in my life where Jesus shows up in the end. And it is a really well done scene.
It's gonna be FAR more glorious when He REALLY returns! Every eye shall see Him!
put shivers up my spine
@@user-lc5vh8is3wLooking back on it, that was one of the most disturbing things I saw in my childhood.
Es maravillosa
I start crying when Jesus came and that beautiful music started ! Wonderful !!!!
One of the best scenes in movie history - Jesus Christ appearing in all His glory. The anti-Christ will be destroyed by His mere presence and not by any dagger though.
Gorgeous piece of music.
Jesus is the hero. Goldsmith is a genius.
Sam Neill was an excellent choice as adult Damien, and Jerry Goldsmith was awesome as always. With a better script, Omen III could've been a great ending to the series.
The direction by Graham Baker is just one dimensional. No real imagination or visual thought. I came very close to working on this film. If I'm correct, Richard Donner served as Executive Producer on this film. Goldsmith's score to The Final Conflict has to be the crowning achievement of this film in general terms. Everything else, bar some of the photography is just plain bland. Though some of the location work near York and some in Cornwall isn't too bad. It's a film best forgotten to be honest, except for the fine score by Goldsmith.

Sam Neill nailed the role, and in my opinion, there shouldn’t have ever been a Part IV, because it seemed to me like an unnecessary add on to a well done trilogy. “Don’t fix it if it ain’t broken” came to my mind just now.
@@johnsmith-zu5db I've always felt that Goldsmith's soundtrack was the real star of the first movie. Gregory Peck lead a solid cast in the movie, but even almost fifty years later, cinema may never produce a more potent and imposing soundtrack than that one.
His score for The Final Conflict is none too shabby, either!
No one hardly believes me..but the ending is the best way I can describe how I saw Jesus when I was 5 years old🙏
Tell me more .....
Saw a vision myself I was in the hospital close to death and jessus showed up in the hallway.
I was 14 years old at the time year was 1979 month was either late may or june.
its ironic how the score for the third instalment was Goldsmith's best of the Omen trilogy but alas the film itself was dissapointing..although in its defence..there were some chilling scenes and Sam Neill did fit the role of the adult Damien Thorn very well.
Satan may have won the battle but God Always wins the war🙏🙏👼
god does not exist, u dumb
God killed thousands in the bible, Satan killed very few. Better check your facts before making that assumption.
@@Amp661 to each his or her I believe in Jesus christ preach that to someone else
@@lauraluffman6177 ...it's not preaching. Its stating obvious facts if you actually looked it up in the bible, but yes to each their own, especially if they study and read.
@@Amp661 yes I do I use the bible as a blueprint to guide my life in these last days I am a Christian and a firm believer in Jesus
Fantastic score, wish the movie had been worthy of Goldsmith's work.
This was the first and last time in a movie that the image of Jesus actually killed the demon. They need to make another block buster movie about evil and make the image of Christ with his hands out or something like that with the ray light of heaven coming out of them and killing the evil. I bet people would go see a movie like that.
Indeed if it's a good movie of course. If just going to be your average crappy thriller then it's not worth it, but if it has a good script for it to all work like in the omen then I agree.
+MrBrandymuffin Except he didn't die because of the appearance of Jesus. He died because a human being stabbed him in the back. Jesus just popped up to go "Neener Neener" at the end.
Fluffykeith: "But, but, but, Jesus didn't do it!" Apparently you weren't paying attention.
One of the best scores of all time , right up there with Psycho and The Last Valley !
Absolutely chilling. One of my favorites of all time!
when i hear the end i get goosebumps bloody long time since that happend lol
I absolutely love Jerry Goldsmith.
3:20 “You have won nothing” - Damien Thorn before his soul is cast into the lake of fire.
Damien is a tragic character, he's trapped, and can't help what he is. The score to the final conflict certainly reflects this. Sam neil gives a great performance, the score is stunning.
Lee Winters I don't feel sorry for him.
+Lee Winters He has no chance, in the context of the films. His path is set before he's even born, and yet, because it's Hollywood, there's no possibility that he'll win. He's doomed from the moment he learned who he is, and in the end, he must know on some level that he will ultimately lose.
+Fluffykeith Yes and no..The antichrist is not separate from The Devil/Satan, it is the same entity just in a different shape. Just as Jesus was/is God in flesh and blood form, Damien is Satan in blood and flesh form. So in that sense Damien could never be trapped, escape or predestined, he simply is. The fact that Damien did not know he was the antichrist from birth is incidental.
joe danns I'm talking entirely from the standpoint of the films.
I think you're right. Sam Neill's performance is wonderful. The musical score can't be faulted. But for me the best part is seeing the character Damien down on his knees before Christ. Amen to that.
Light will always triumph against the shadow.
me impacto ver a jesus fue maravilloso reavivo mi fe y la musica fue magistral
IT'S JERRY GOLDSMITH that's my God.
Not the best Omen film but the one with the best music.
Salvando algunos acondicionamientos que sufrio la version,la trylogia no deja de ser exelente...
“Nazarene . . . you have won . . . nothing.”

Wishmaster 4 : The prophecy Fulfilled (2002) is a much better film than the final conflict and it is what a fallen angel/demon movie should be like. Entertaining and fun. Not dark and depressing like the final conflict.
It wasn't the best of the three but I still love it and Sam Neil just the same. And definitely Jonathan Scott Taylor from part 2.
In the end GOD will triumph.

Always.

Me too. For the whole three parts of the movie, we've been butchered by evil and then, at the end comes the bright light and a very powerful music from god himself (Jerry was just a messenger). What a cathartic experience!!

I'm sure quite a few people in government and the entertainment business are into occult stuff like that as we speak. People just don't want to believe it because the world is too modernized right now and their beliefs system revolves around science instead of faith. Stuff like that goes back to ancient egypt and rome. And its still going.
Omen II is still my favorite but I liked all three. We aint even gonna speak on the 4th one with Deliah. I didn't like it.

@Andrew26871 I don't agree this film is pants, I could have done with a bit of tweeking here and there, pity Richard Donner did'nt direct although he was the executive producer, so he most have seen something in this film he liked, I like the fact Damien goes back to London and stays in his parents place, it really takes the Fransise full circle and too what we thought would be the final battle of good versus Evil, OMEN 4 NOW THAT REALLY WAS PANTS, This music Score really is OMG unbeliveable.

I hope he plays Ishamael in the upcoming Wheel of Time amazon series. Look at this and tell me you can't see him in that role.

Excellent!
They had all the right ingredients including a brilliant version of an older Damien with Sam Neill, all to be ruined with a terrible script. Such an undignified conclusion to a brilliant concept.

Interesting gematria:
"Revelations" or Apocalypsis (ἀποκάλυψις) in Greek (the language of the New Testament) has a numerical value of 1512
(ἀ = 1) (π = 80) (ο = 70) (κ = 20 ) (ά = 1) (λ = 30) (υ = 400 ) (ψ = 700) (ι = 10) (ς = 200)
Completely factored, 1512 is 2x2x2x3x3x3x7. Or if you prefer: 6x6x6x7
Meanwhile came out , the Real Numbers of Satan where missunderstood, its not the ridicolous 6 6 6 its 9 9 9, cause watch it mirrored and your correct, and thats a Fact! Who ever said its 6 6 6 is an Idiot from the Medieval, sure it was some silly old Pope with Altzheimer hahaha
