Ahh. The few joys of living on the central coast of California. almost year 'round riding weather, no massive flying insects, few bats, not exactly a mosquito zone, no alligators or snapping turtles, but, the occasional low flying seagull. Not that you would hit one, but as they get out of your way, they will unload their last nights dinner on you....
My first bike of any substantial power was a Kawasaki 500, three cylinder, two stroke, freakin' rocket on wheels. Of course that was back in the mid-70s. Scared myself enough times I ended up putting on saddlebags, a windscreen and the original handlebars and turned it into what I have now - a cruiser. Thanks for the video. Enjoy the ride!
The new 400 is an amazing starter and value. Great features including a slipper clutch for sub 5k. These smaller bikes are a ton of fun cause if how light they are, just expect to be disappointed when it comes to engine noise lol
Enjoyed watching your experience! The only cruiser I’ve ridden on was a small dinky Suzuki at the MSF course. It had forward controls and the typical cruiser stance but I’ve been on sportbikes the past couple of years. I am SURE getting back on a cruiser would feel incredibly weird to me 😅 Fun hopping on different types of bikes for sure though, I think everyone should try out different bikes than they’re familiar as they each can provide such a unique experience to riding of their own.
I hopped on my friends v star with huge apes coming from a ninja it was the exact opposite riding position and was weird to me. Whatever someone rides is gonna be what they are most comfortable on I feel uncomfortable in a feet forward riding position idk why probably because I went dirt bikes than sport bikes which do not have a stance the cruisers have.
I've got a Vrod and a Busa and honestly recommend you go ride a Hayabusa (aka GSXR-1300) They're the "cruisers" of the sport bike world and plenty of power but easily managed.
I went from this ninja to my triumph street twin. I miss it, so once I can get a 2nd one, I'll get a sport bike for sure. :) Love that you have fun on it!
You would enjoy riding / reviewing the Suzuki GSX-R750. The mid-size sport bikes are insanely fast, yet easy to ride. You must’ve had a great time on your trip to Florida! I’m a motorcyclist, enjoy riding all of them. We have Harley, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Yamaha, and KTM in the garage now, but, that’s subject to change tomorrow! Lol... Be safe out the Jess!
Good choice starting on a baby sport bike. The ergos are actually a little more relaxed than the super sports. And fair warning before you try out a litre bike. Nothing prepares you for that kind of power. A steady throttle hand is a must! But the power quickly becomes intoxicating.
Clermont fl I literally lived there a year ago now I live in New England so it was nice to see some of the place I lived at for 14 years. Wish I had my Harley shipped down there and be riding right now
AH! I’m so glad I found this video. It was like it was meant to be! I’m really interested in buying a bike and while watching this video I realized you’re riding in my town! 😭 so cool!
Hey Jess ❤️ Woah sport bike eh I also rode a naked one today, different than my cruiser but not that bad I finally got out on a ride today after 2 weeks,12°C,gooood weather :D
I switch back and forth between my sportster bobber and cbr1000rr. Both have their redeeming qualities. It’s fun to switch it up when you feel the need.
@@chefmax922 ah didn’t realize she specifically wanted 300cc only. That rules out ....well, frankly not only the r3 but the ninja 300 too 😂. The ninja 300 is 290 something cc, the r3 is 321, the ninja 400 is 390 or 399 I forget which, the Duke 390 is 370ish. They’re really all 300 class, the larger ones are just a bit more usable on the highway, more modern, significantly lighter in the case of the ninja & KTM etc. but she can’t go wrong really.
You need 3. A cruiser, or bagger, sport bike, and an adventure/ dual sport/ dirt bike. Any combination is considered (in my mind anyway) the Holy Trinity.
Check out something in the mid weight category from honda or kawasaki with an inline 4. Good handling, low weight, and enough performance to have fun without breaking too many laws lol
I've ridden for over 45 years now, and have yet to ride a sport bike. The closest I got, was a Yamaha SR500. It was the reason I became a Harley fan, because that single lung 500 had the best exhaust "thump" as it ran, that I wanted twice as much....so, Harley!

Sport bikes look cool and I am sure they be fun around town or short rides, the one I tried riding though I just couldn't do it I leaned to far forward and due to carpal tunnel my writs instantly started hurting for just a short ride. My Radian was a sport cruiser was fun to ride, but again about 60 miles was all could handle riding at one time. Have fun and be safe.
You've already got a relationship with triumph. Try everything they've got! I love my 19 speed triple. And triumph's got a bike for all occasions! Congratulations on the success of you're channel. Hope to see more of you in our Florida roads. Come by the Tampa side next time.
i think you shouldn't worry about not starting with a 1000cc superbike. the 300 Ninja surely is a very good choice to get a feeling for this specific bike layout/category. Thank you for sharing your impressions! However i'd recommend to try this kind of bike on more twisted roads to really experience the unique handling (and ultimately the fun) of them. keep it coming! cheers

Kawasaki Ninja is one of the best bikes out there. I would have one by now but i spend all my money on 4-wheelers. Back in the day i started with a 1985 3-wheeler... Thanks for Vid
I have the 650 ninja and it sits up a little bit more that the other ninjas and I love it. Im glad your still doing kito too. Im half way through my 7th week of keto and am loving it. Keto and motorbikes are Life. 😁 . Keep bringing these awesome vids. Thank you xx

First, I have to say that I loved this video!! I thought it was soo cool to see you ride a sportbike. With that said, you asked what kind of sportbike or "Crotch Rocket" you should try next. I say give that ninja 300 another ride but this time try shifting at 8,000 to 10,000 rpms. Sportbike engines, mostly 4 cylinders, are built to rev at higher levels than the V Twins that a lot of cruisers have. Sportbikes make most of their power (Powerband) at those higher rpms. If you ride that 300 again it would feel like an even bigger bike then when you rode it the first time. Don't listen to some of these guys telling you to ride 1000 cc liter bikes. Not yet lol. You are an experienced rider and I see you owning a liter bike some day. But.... I would try a 600 then 750 then 1000. Skip one if you are comfortable. Love your videos 😁 Keep up the good work!!
Just bought my daughter a ninja 400, and of course have to help break it in while they get their learners permit. And going from cruisers to this is a very different riding feel, with the little 399cc twin reving away like it’s on a race track even before leaving the parking lot. 8)
When you bought your first HD didn't the rep go over the bike with you step-by-step? I think Captainana should have done that with you especially with being your first time on a sportbike. 😉 Having said that, I'm glad you got to enjoy it the first time. Looks fun!
Not sure if anyone said this already, but a sport bike needs to be revved out more. It’s funny seeing you shift so early and that tac only seeing 5K RPMs. I had the same issue coming from a cruiser.
Would love to see you doing test rides of these following bikes: 1. BMW S1000RR M. 2. YAMAHA R1M. 3. HONDA FIREBLADE SP EDITION. 4. KAWASAKI ZX10RR. 5. TRIUMPH DAYTONA 675R. Best of luck Jess.🙂
Glad you could make it down to Florida this week Jess! Temps have been around mid 80s. Always good to try out different bikes. Looks like your a natural no matter what bike you ride. Have fun and be safe. We also call them “Crotch Rockets” here in Florida. 🌴🌊🏍
Oh ye totally forgot to watch this when it was posted, had a busy day, watched now, great episode as always, forgot u still got some Florida vlogs to post, awesome ! Also ye when I first tried riding some naked bikes it was so weird having the controls like that more in the back, used to have em forwards on my cruiser But got used to it eventually, felt kinda nice honestly,I don't have it but will sill remain to cruisers :D
See if you can try the MT or FZ 09 and if ya really want to get crazy try a ZX14R but beware of that one because they can pile on speed extremely quickly
I live in Kansas I don't have a wind screen but do have a full face helmet. I have a 1980 KZ 750 LTD which was the same engine in a 1980 Ninja 750. Kawasaki make awesome bikes . I would like to see you ride a ridged frame Kawasaki bobber chopper,
The first time I rode the 88 GSXR750, I kept missing the pegs, with my feet. It seemed like they were just inches beneath the seat. ..the passenger seat!
Great vid., Jess & Yes you should ride more sport bikes. Curious abt. seein your reviews on them. But, you shiuld ride Any & All bikes you find intresting. I'll Def. Watch! 🌟🍻✌
Nice Jess hope you enjoy the ride. All ya can hear is the sporty hahah Friend of mine has a buell we call it the Singer sewing machine it so quite. Awesome you’re able to ride . Be safe out there.
What Sportbike should I ride next?!
Something from the Suzuki GSX series. GSX , GSXS or GSXR. I would go for the GSXR, myself. The series go from 125, 600, 750, or 1000.
My R1 on the track.
Zx10 or the zx6 I love those bikes they handle so well but don’t let your self go they are very fast but your experienced so you should be good
Actually a 600 or GSXR 600 is a good shout. Complete opposite of the torque monsters you own, lets hear it scream at 14k revs
You should try a R1250RT. I think you'll be amazed. In the last few years I've seen a lot of HD converts.
I have an R3 and I'm 5'2" so the light weight of it is perfect for me to zip around town. The 300 line of bike are really great
My every day is a 2017 Road Glide Ultra. I fell in love with the Ninja 650 on a test ride. Gonna get me one some day.
"If I lived in Florida I would never ride with a wind screen." lol Until she learns the reality of love bugs, beetles, bats, and birds! lol
😂 Right?!
Wait til the weather warms up 🪰🐞 🦟

Also wasps and hornets. Nothing like catching a hornet in the face (or chest or legs) at 85+.

Definitely try a inline 4 of some kind... a gsxr600 or something like that. Good change of pace riding a sport bike every now and then.
That’s exactly why I picked up a sportbike to add to the Harley in my garage.
Thinking of adding the Ninja 400 to the stable. Also Donut King is amazing and visit everytime I go to Orlando.

Also ye when I first tried riding some naked bikes it was so weird having the controls like that more in the back, used to have em forwards on my cruiser
But got used to it eventually, felt kinda nice honestly,I don't have it but will sill remain to cruisers :D
See if you can try the MT or FZ 09 and if ya really want to get crazy try a ZX14R but beware of that one because they can pile on speed extremely quickly
Bravo! You rocked your first ride on a sport bike! Smooth as buttah!
I live in Kansas I don't have a wind screen but do have a full face helmet. I have a 1980 KZ 750 LTD which was the same engine in a 1980 Ninja 750. Kawasaki make awesome bikes . I would like to see you ride a ridged frame Kawasaki bobber chopper,
Right on
I know where Donut King in Umatilla is. You have found a donut gold mine.
The first time I rode the 88 GSXR750, I kept missing the pegs, with my feet. It seemed like they were just inches beneath the seat.

Awesome you’re able to ride . Be safe out there.
You could always try something in sport touring like a ninja 1000 sx or the kawasaki concourse both are sporty and comfortable.
