Great video, a lot of level headed thoughts and fair points here. I've been looking for a 3.0 Premium and man, there aren't a lot on the market. Hey bro, this is another great vid as always you do! I think 🤔 that the new 2022 CF Edition is not worth it. In fact, I have more carbon fiber pieces on my Premium 2020 than the CF. Also, they really dropped the ball this time by no addressing any of the common issues that you mentioned in your vid to include the problem to properly open the trunk externally without using the keyfod. Toyota has a serious problem if they don't start listening its customers. The new Nissan Z is coming soon not as a true racing contender but more as a treat to the Supra's sales. Quote that!
I don't think there are many that actually have oil consumption issues. I think there are several factors at play, but nothing that is all that concerning except for a few rare cases.
@@spiguyversgarage9452 The 2021 6 cylinder ones all eat oil like crazy. Some have reported engine replacements at only 1,500 miles. The 2020 version seems to be perfect with no issues with oil consumption. That added extra power for the 21 version is causing problems.
Hopefully you keep working on it, I have faith on my 2021 prem to get flashed soon but between the bashing/hating and people reselling them like chips on the market, the price will drop to a point is not going to be worth it. I saw this with the Z32 and 3000GT late 90s and early 2000 were price dropped dramatically and I do t think I'm willing to take that hit with my A90 specially when I dropped 46k at front. I havent driven my often as I keep traveling on military orders here and there and San Antonio I'd a very crappy place to own cars like this ones unless you go to New Braunfels or Fredericksburg.
I will continue to keep working on mine, doing the stuff that makes me happy. I am being patient waiting on the ECU unlock to happen, and am happy with the bump the JB4 has given me. Hell at this point I spin the tires through third if I’m not careful. Next summer bigger, stickier tires for sure!
Yeah, I need to get new wheels and tires so that I can hopefully gain some traction. More power and torque is great, but when it doesn't hook, what's the point
I think a lot of the oil consumption issues were blown out of proportion. This is a boosted BMW engine that is running on a very thin oil. Some consumption and blow y is to be expected. I also think that the problems seem to go away over time. I had mine in the shop 3 times for the oil consumption issues, but after a couple oil changes and some more miles on the car, it is now burning zero oil. There have been a few cases of serious oil issues, but my belief is they are more isolated than what is being talked about.
The main barrier that the Supra will always face no matter what is the price. You have other cars dragging people away because of many reasons and the Supra isn’t selling as it should because is the most expensive of all. The 3.0 should be priced as the 2.0 or in the middle. Today hardly anyone would pay over 60K for that.
I actually love that the price is a barrier because I like exclusivity. I'd never own a camry or something u see on every other block. It's rare and lets keep it that way.
I’m really disappointed with Toyota for releasing the 2.0 version. 2.0 supras out there getting gapped and ppl are gonna claim they beat a supra but didn’t know it was a slower one
its not that people necessarily think the auto tranny is inferior performance wise. if anything modern trannies usually outperform manuals. i know for me i just like the driving experience of a sportscar better when i have a clutch and stickshift. ill gladly sacrifice getting from 0-60 .2sec faster for the experience of a real manual transmission. i havent owned an auto tranny car since 2001

Dealership near me wanted 72K fly a 2022, no thanks, 56K or nothing😤
That's crazy!!!
Things you REALLY need to know before buying a supra: Nothing. Go buy a supra.
Fair enough! Just do it!
Beautiful car 🚙
Thanks!
Thank nice video amazing supra better that the ,98,99, 95,,, this one look like. FERRARI, WAO
Thanks!
@@spiguyversgarage9452 what. Que
Same oil consumption issues. lol
@@spiguyversgarage9452 I have a friend that soon will have a JB+ for sell that I plan to get hold off but tires are a most!
Yeah, I need to get new wheels and tires so that I can hopefully gain some traction. More power and torque is great, but when it doesn't hook, what's the point
did you end up dealing @ 57k?
Yeah, MSRP for mine.
2023 will come manual and GR Corolla gonna be AWD Manual 280 ish hp
Yup.
Oil consumtion still as bad as 2020/21?
I think a lot of the oil consumption issues were blown out of proportion. This is a boosted BMW engine that is running on a very thin oil. Some consumption and blow y is to be expected. I also think that the problems seem to go away over time. I had mine in the shop 3 times for the oil consumption issues, but after a couple oil changes and some more miles on the car, it is now burning zero oil. There have been a few cases of serious oil issues, but my belief is they are more isolated than what is being talked about.
There was a poll in Supra forum and a lots of owners reported oil problem.
I was one of them. I did videos about it. But they have gone away. I think the major issues are isolated.
@@spiguyversgarage9452 Good to hear that.
Agree, the price is a barrier to many!
I actually love that the price is a barrier because I like exclusivity. I'd never own a camry or something u see on every other block. It's rare and lets keep it that way.
I do love how rare it is to see another Supra on the road, especially a Refraction Blue A91 Edition like mine!
I’m really disappointed with Toyota for releasing the 2.0 version. 2.0 supras out there getting gapped and ppl are gonna claim they beat a supra but didn’t know it was a slower one
Exactly! Since really the only visual difference is the wheels, when it’s rolling it’s pretty tough to tell that it’s a 2.0.
@@spiguyversgarage9452 yeah and no red brembo calipers.
I have a 2.0 and it’s actually quicker than you think and it’s definitely putting out more than 255 HP.
Why is even there 2.0 Supra . They should of just kept 3.0 since launch 2020 model… no point of having 4 banger Supra …
@@bman1668 you ever driven one?
its not that people necessarily think the auto tranny is inferior performance wise. if anything modern trannies usually outperform manuals. i know for me i just like the driving experience of a sportscar better when i have a clutch and stickshift. ill gladly sacrifice getting from 0-60 .2sec faster for the experience of a real manual transmission. i havent owned an auto tranny car since 2001
I hear ya! I do get it!
Don't sell it like the other two youtubers are doing now.
Not selling it!
You just nailed a good point there. I will unsubscribe his t.h.i.c 😂 channel as soon as he sell his Supra. So, mush hype for letting us down at the end!
I know, him announcing the impending sale yesterday hurt a little! I’ll be here for ya!
@@AR_4Foglio Apparently he said he's keeping it now, It was on his ig.
@@GT-RTData9 I'm glad to hear that! 👍🏾
i'll prefer to wait for the GR Corolla. The 400Z is still the same and looks ugly to me.
I don't disagree with you!
919 2021 A91s produced, not 1000. Per Toyota.
It was originally planned as 1000, but 919 is good!
@@spiguyversgarage9452 absolutely!!! I had a Nocturnal A91. Just traded her in on a Phantom A91-CF.
Phantom is an amazing color, congrats!
Whish modelo Will be more wanted. IN the futuro,,,, whis one
We'll see, time will tell, right!
The engine by BMW. Originally had to be rebuilt with better quality parts. So it’s Toyota approved. So it’s as good as a Toyota.
Thanks for checking the video out!
Is the 2022 tuneable
No, I mentioned that in the video.
#1 it’s a BMW 😲
That’s mostly true.
2.0 inline 4 is not a real supra?....sad to break it to you....you are setting in a BMW with Toyota badging.
Wow, that’s original! Most of the previous Supras were done using partnerships, with Lotus, with Yamaha…. It’s the way things are done today with a lot of cars. But the one thing that has tied all Supras since day 1 is the inline 6
@@spiguyversgarage9452 Wow, its not a Supra! It's a BMW power train, drive line, suspension, brakes, electronics, switch gear, and even steering wheel! It has the shell of a half Toyota half BMW design team! It's the farthest thing from a Supra that has ever been built. Its a great car, but its not a Supra! If that hurts your feelings, I do not known what to tell you. ...and yes, car manufacture collaborate all the time. But to bastardise the Supra lineage like this is a bit hard to swallow....
Eew nissan
I decided to go with 2022 Bmw 240i fully loaded XDrive.. Toyota Supra is way overated vehicle
Enjoy it, I have to completely disagree with you on the overrated part though!
