Lol Nancy! I just love your podcasts! As a wine lover, I tend to keep your podcasts to watch after my wine'clock in the evening! So when I see you take a sip then so do I😂 so I see you as my wine partener in crime! Please don't feel bad about only knitting on one category, ie socks I often ho through stages when all I want to knit on is socks. Just now, I am a little obsessed with knitting toys, especially bunnies, so I can completely understand how you feel! I really love your podcasts and always look forward to your next one! I have binged watched all of your episodes so far so now I feel that I am missing you because I was watching you throughout the day and every day, but now I have run out of your podcasts to watch!
I love that Tracey! Plus , now I don't feel alone when I'm talking to my camera and drinking 😎 It's true...this is a hobby and we want, what we want! Thanks for spending all of that time with me...that's so nice of you to say 🥰
I MISS YOU Nancy!!! Fantastic Episode as always. Your Ranunculus and Handspun literally made me swoon! haha I sad swoon... Might be watching too much Brigerton 😂! We need to record again soooon! ok I hope I see you tomorrow night at knit night! Cheers my friend! 💕
Your new Ranunculus is perfection on you Nancy…colour, fit, everything 👌👏 Thanks for another lovely episode 🩵 I forgot to comment on your Knit City one, but I loved the walk through you gave us before the event opened; it was brilliant to hear your thoughts on the yarn/fibre/bags/booths without the chaos of all the attendees being there. Definitely different to the usual yarn show videos you see, and much appreciated x
Thank you Ailie 🩵 It might be my favourite so far! I will definitely be doing that kind of walk through at shows again. I'm lucky that I'm in there with a vendor, so I have that access. It was so much easier for me to film as well as the visuals being so much nicer. I just started your most recent episode this morning and will be able to finish it tonight after supper.
That's nice of you say Sharon❣️ I feel like I have an out of body experience when I'm recording 😆 I watch it when I'm editing and I can't remember anything that I've said 🤓
I really look forward to your chats and love all you show, as well as your modification explanations. Knitting is not only relaxing, but it's a way to keep the brain cells firing in many directions! Enjoy the pre-wedding times. How fantastic that your future son-in-law is returning! My nephew is deploying today to Iraq for four months. Wife and two young kiddos. He's a surgeon. So the countdown begins.
Hi Lynn 👋 It's amazing that knitting can be both of those things to us. I hope the 4 months go quickly for your nephew and his family. They can be long weeks and months 💕
What a lovely episode. I love all your knits! Your Sunshine Coast is just perfect -- colour, fit -- all of it! What is that beautiful shawl hanging behind you. So pretty. I love gold/grey/black together. I am going to the Southern Wool Show this year. I am SO excited! I think I started watching your channel about the time you were over there and in part, convinced me to figure out a way to get there myself. So thanks!
Thank you Jane 💕 That's my Vertices Unite by Stephen West. I can't recommend the pattern enough. I knit it during covid and loved the process as well as my yarns 🤓 The Southern Wool Show is soooo good! Don't do what I did in Toronto...have a plan for your yarny purchases 😆😆 Have a great time!
I definitely going to knit Krista's socks. What a fun and easy pattern. Nice to bring with me on my hiking holiday. I have the ranunculus on my list for a long time, but up to now I was still hesitating to start with it. It looks so difficult, but you encouraged me to give it a go. So thank you!
Yay!!! It's such an easily adjustable little stitch combo as well, but looks so good on self-striping yarn. Enjoy your holiday...hope the weather is perfect for your adventures 🩵
Nancy I do love visiting with you and learning. I used your tip of using a button when knitting with 2 threads. what a pleasure. The buttons now stay in my notions box. Hope your summer arrives soon. Xx
Great spending time with you tonight while I'm on the final rows of Ngahuru Shawl by Amikihia Knits. Wonderful seeing the beautiful apple blossom & gorgeous tulips. Barbara (NZ)
Thanks Nancy loved your podcast and I did see your podcast with Sweet Skein o mine! It was great!! Love both of your videos. Your sweater and socks are great!!!
I tried red wine from a bourbon casket and it was delicious 😋 Every time you sipped I was wishing I was having some with you, instead, I was having hot flashes as I sat and knit with you virtually. Thanks for another hour of great knitting company 🫶
There is a pattern for Bottom Up Knitted Knockers on the website. The start is much easier and the end result is the same! Love the awareness you bring to breast cancer. 🥰
I love your Sunshine Coast sweater. Just added it to my queue. It appears I have 23 ideas of yarn in my stash, yeah. Love that feature in Ravelry. While listening to you I have been sitting here knitting on my 2024 Summer Sock Camp socks just an inch more to the contrast Fish Lips Kiss heel.
Wasn't the Montreal race exciting? Hope you enjoyed your weekend. Thanks for sharing your knits once again...beautiful yarn choices for your new Ranunculus. 💓
The race was very entertaining 🤓 Looking forward to the next 3 weekends with 3 races. I need easy stockinette knitting for races, so I can focus on the race.
That little crochet hook / needle is the best tool I've ever bought for my knitting. It's made by Susan Bates and I've got three in different colours. Find it at Michael's in Canada.
Always great to watch your podcast and knit, annnd drink wine! I’m just bummed we don’t live closer,I’m sure we could get up to some shenanigans! I’m literally across the continent from you in Napa, California! Cheers 🥂 ❤
I'm always up for some shenanigans Karen 🍷 Yes...we couldn't get much farther away on this continent. Thankfully we have the internet for us to hang out together 🤓
Nance, that is definitely your color! And mine as well. I have enjoyed your podcasts for over a year now and I recommend you to all my knitting friends. I belong to two knitting groups! I have a situation I hope you can help with. I live in central Florida. We have had two days this week where we have hit 100 degrees farenheit. I try to knit with fingering or lace weight yarns and cotton, bamboo or linen fibers. I have the rannunculus pattern which is lovely and I would like to knit it in a lace or fingering weight. Usually I modify by knitting a larger size with smaller needles. If you have any tips it would be greatly appreciated. I am on ravelry as lenags. Hope your day is awesome😊
Thank you for spreading the love for me Lena and for keeping me company 🩵 I love the greens, blues and purples. I totally get why you wouldn't want to knit your Ranunculus in fluffy warm yarn. So, how airy/holey do you want your Ranunculus to be? It sounds like you're already doing sweater math to be able to adjust. Personally, I would do gauge on a 4mm, that it would be drapey, but not too holey.
Nice to catch up and see all those great socks! Your Ranunculus is so pretty on you! So well done. I’ll be interested in your modifications. But more interested in how you do that little sock gusset. Take care! 🤗
Thanks Evie 💕 First up is the sweater modification video....I'm hoping to get my notes done tomorrow and film on Tuesday. The sock gusset will be a lot easier to do, but I've got to get my thoughts together and do the sweater one first 🤓
Fix it tools a dime a dozen from a country that starts with C and ends with a. Not Canada…on Amazon. 😂 Welcome home to Rob. I know the feeling and excitement of him coming home. My son was at Gagetown and deployed for 6 mos in Iraq. So happy when they hit Canadian soil again. I am currently knitting the Poppy Tee by Petiteknit in Remix light. Wow can I say how beautiful the fit and construction is on that! You would like it! Happy knitting till next time ❤
Lol Helen!!! I've had lovely knitters send me Amazon links. It's that or Walmart, so it's 6 of one or half a dozen of the other. There all coming from there anywhere, no matter where we buy them 🥴 Rob texted me a little while ago to let me know that he was landed and on a bus. And a big relief!!! I had to go and look at the Poppy! I have added it to my favourites...thanks for the recommendation!
The Sunshine Coast looks stunning on you! Woah! Bourbon infused cab?!? That sounds incredible! I am moving to your coast (from the far west coast of the US) next month. So excited to be closer to all the amazing knitty folk east of the 77th meridian. I've been waiting for your sweater tutorial. Thank you so much for putting it together for us!
Thank you Anne!! I haven't had rime this week to get it washed and set the twist, but I'm really looking forward to seeing it after it's wash and dry 🤓
I find that I generally adjust the number of stitches for the front and back of my sweaters. I keep a journal with formulas for different gauges so that I can start with the appropriate breakdown in the stitch counts for sleeves, front and back. The beauty of handmade knits is garments that fit. Your blue/green/yellow handspun is really beautiful. It seems like it would lend itself to solid colored ribbing to help stretch your yardage. I will be interested to see what your decide to knit with it.
Hi Nancy, thank you for my lunchtime treat. I'm doing garment knitting currently, not socks. I have nearly finished the dk version of Stockbridge by Ysolda Teague. I have had the fi g3ring weight one for years ad love it, so couldn't resist a dk version. Next is Libby's Ginger bliss cardigan in a pearl grey fingering (Highland Wool from Hobbii) to replace the afore mentioned fingeing Stoclbridge, which needs some tlc. Then a Ranunculus. No yarn yet, but if I cannot sort out some Yarn Indulgences yarn it will probably be a Yarnfloozy one from NZ. Finally, a second Industry shawl/scarf from Truly Myrtle in a lovely green mingle shading. That probably brings me to Christmas. 😂😂😂😂
Woo hoo Sheila 🙌 I love the forward planning!! I definitely want a Gingerbliss, but need to finish my Gingersnap first, so that's probably an Autumn make for me. I've cast on Sam's Suri Shirt and picked up my Hint Of Summer, so maybe my brain is ready for garments again 😎
@knitsiphappy Have fun knitting those two. I love socks, but I do need a break from them at times, and currently, my need for cardigans is greater than the need for socks.
Hi Nancy, great episode, I purchased my crochet hook/needle from Amazon it is call the SKC crochet hook the Ningbo Xinteng Needle Company. Hope this helps and your viewers
Oh Janet❣️❣️ I'm wishing you a speedy recovery from your surgery and strength to get through the treatments that are coming 💗💗 I hope my chat was a little bit of a distraction for you
It's always fun to catch up with you, Nancy. I'm not much of a sock knitter, but yours are impressive!! I love your Sunshine Coast sweater. I made one in Bamboo Pop that is so light and comfortable. Your blue/green spun yarn is gorgeous! And, I had to buy myself a notion nook after I saw it on your podcast. However, it won't fit one of those knit fix it tools you mentioned, at least not the one I have (which I bought on Amazon).
I got the cocoknits double ended crochet hook from La Violette last summer. (Maybe Manon still has a stash?!). It is 4" long, so possibly too big to fit in that handy little case. And maybe there are different snazzy little fixer tools that people are referring to. I hope you are enjoying your pizza and race night. Happy sipping.
Thanks Sadie❣️❣️ I'll check with her 🤓 I'm getting lots of other suggestions as well. The race and pizza was great...so fun to not have to plan dinner 😎
Dear Nancy - on those socks that you need a quarter of an inch of speckled yarn, could you consider starting the gold color a little earlier? (assuming you do not have any more of the speckled)............so one cuff is larger in gold than the other - (sip the wine).........being pisstified is no fun but the socks are wonderful - love the podcast.....and all of your creations....they are all lovely...looking forward to all future podcasts and tutorials, etc. 🧶
Thanks Barbara❣️ I will probably end up doing that with the gold for an extra repeat. I am still pisstified...loving that word a lot by the way 😁 I will be stealing that 🤓...so I still don't feel like working on it 🧦
Today was "Knit, SOCK, happy" ! SO fun to see what your up to ! I watched the visit with Sweet Skein O Mine ...it was lovely to see knitting friends meet up like that !!
Hey Nancy thanks for sharing. I have finished my first Ranuculus and It doesn't fit right.🙄 I took it to my "knit sweaters that fit" class and had the instructor explain how to save it. When I have the strength I will rip back to the armholes, and hope the silk, mohair and wool blend doesn't provide too much of a challenge. I love your latest version!
Ugh Wendy...that's so disappointing when it's not what you were hoping for!! I've heard putting it in the freezer makes it easier to frog mohair, but I've never tried it. I think the 🩵🩵 one is my favourite so far
„NOT for a colorwork yoke!“ - I was laughing so hard 😂 love the socks for your sister-in-law, I have to look for this Regia line when we are back in Europe. Wonderful podcast, as always ❤
Thank you Nancy for another awesome podcast! So happy whenever you pop on RUclips! The sweater you are wearing is so gorgeous that I want to knit one in the your exact yarn and color! Thank you for the lovely apple orchard scenes! It is so zen and wonderful! I’m super stress this past month, so this was definitely a treat! Thank you for sharing! Wishing Sam all the best with her upcoming wedding and wonderful life with the love of her life! Wishing you and your family a restful, relaxing, and fun summer!❤❤
Thats so kind of you to say...thank you❣️ You know I love coming for a chat. I wish I had bought more of this yarn before it got discontinued 🤓 I hope you got to relax and turn your brain off for the hour that we were hanging out 💕 I'll see you in 3 weeks, hopefully in the back yard 🌞
💗💗 always a great visit with you, Nancy,,,,, Love socks,,,so you never disappoint,,,,lots of 🧦 You are busy,,wow,,,, 😲😲 Hope u get to sit and knit outside in ur deck soon,,,, Take care,,, ELAINE 🏡💕 Love ur sweater on you,,,,
We are putting the screen room together tomorrow, so hopefully outdoor knitting is coming very soon 🤓 I'm glad you enjoyed the sock heavy episode Elaine...thanks for always cheering me on 💕
Thanks for a great podcast, Nancy! I'm a fan of the "red" myself. It gave you just enough color to compliment that rich charcoal you're thinking of for a sweater. Maybe it could be your wine drinking sweater!
Lol, Fancy Nancy. Is that a slogan for something? Do you have any merch? 😂 Love your podcast style, Nancy Making your front stitches more than your back stitches is a concept i have only lately decided to do. I am a busty, but not large lady and i always find jumpers to be ill fitting😮 xxx
I think there's a series of kids books called Fancy Nancy 🤓 I hope the bigger front helps your fit...it has really worked for me. Thanks for hanging out with me Linda 💕
Nancy, Art of Yarn in Kelowna has bamboo ones and Twist of Yarn in Vernon has a set of three little crochet tools. I think my daughter bought my two ended tool that is on a key chain in a yarn shop near her then home in Toronto but don’t know the shop name.
I'm also knitting with a cotton/bamboo blend atm and experiencing exactly the same as you are with the Coboo. Splity but not too bad as long as you pay attention.
@@knitsiphappy I'm knitting a summer top. It's an interesting construction with the front and back panels knit separately flat for garter st collar. The panels are joined to knit the body in the round, st st. The shoulders are seamed together. The sleeves also start off flat. They are all over lace, increasing to make a wide gathered sleeve. The sleeve is also joined in the round at the end. It's then seamed into the armhole (set-in sleeve).
Another lovely podcast, Nancy. There is going to be a bumper crop of apples, strawberries and blueberries this year, if the frost stays away. So many blossoms and earlier in the season.
Thank you for another good visit and update. Love the sweater you are wearing. Nice spinning. Lookking forward to seeing your sock heel video. Sounds brilliant. Enjoy your knitting.
short hook with needle end, susan bates I think makes them and got mine at michaels I carry one in my wallet at all times for about 3$ I'll mail ya one or drop it to you in NB next time through xx Cat
Love the Ranunculus talk.. great tips. Question for you. Have you used Jennys stretchy bind off? I hae used it twice and find that it makes the ribbing lean towards the left all around the sweater .

I love gold/grey/black together. I am going to the Southern Wool Show this year. I am SO excited!
Great catching up!! Four Christmases is my favorite! Congrats on year 2!!!
Thanks so much Jenn 💕
Nancy I do love visiting with you and learning. I used your tip of using a button when knitting with 2 threads. what a pleasure. The buttons now stay in my notions box. Hope your summer arrives soon. Xx
Thanks for taking the time to say hello Ursula 💕 I have a button in all of my project bags, just in case! I'm glad you're finding it useful 🤓
Hi Nancy, another enjoyable podcast. Loving your socks and ranunculus sweater. That is on my wish list. Have a great week ❤❤❤

Thanks very much Lisa 💕 I will be adding them to my list for my next shopping day 🤓
It's always fun to catch up with you, Nancy.
It's a great pattern isn't it?!?
Oh bugger! Happy knitting until I see you next time 💕
That sweater is beautiful, I have the coco knits stitch fixer
Thanks Alaina 💕
Fleece and Harmony carries a coco knit crochet fix it with a hook on both ends. It is 2” long
Perfect!! Thanks Hilda 🤓
Another great podcast! I made a Sunshine Coast in navy blue and it didn't do the pattern justice. I'm planning to do another in a lighter colour.
Thanks Kathryn ❣️ Yes...that would be the downside to the charcoal grey for Sunshine Coast 🌞 I should find a different colour ,lighter yarn for it 🤔
I got the cocoknits double ended crochet hook from La Violette last summer.
Wool trends in Newfoundland stocks those crochet fixit tools! About $4!
Oh great!!! Thanks for letting me know 💕
Thank you Nancy. As always I enjoyed watching your video. The apple orchard looks beautiful. Can you go there to buy apples in the autumn? 🇬🇧
It's a pleasure for me to come and share Elaine 🥰 Yes we do get apples from them in the autumn...usually Honey Crisp and they are delicious
Haha!!! I love that It definitely was Knit sock happy🧦❣️ Spending time with knitting friends is the best...whether it's in real life or on RUclips 💕
What a great hour- I’m so enjoying these times with you - thank you for suggestions of other knitters to watch!
Thank you for hanging out with me 💕 I hope you got lots of knitting time in 🧶
Hey Nancy thanks for sharing.
I swear!!! It won't be 😂😂
Thank you Nancy for another awesome podcast!
I wish I had bought more of this yarn before it got discontinued 🤓
I hope you got to relax and turn your brain off for the hour that we were hanging out 💕 I'll see you in 3 weeks, hopefully in the back yard 🌞
Thank you for your company Nancy, it is always a pleasure spending time with you. I am so looking forward to the sweater modification video. ❤
I love coming to have a chat Kelly❣️ How did the lemon drizzle turn out?
FYI the Suri Tee is also available as a v-neck.
Ahhh...I hadn't seen that! Thanks Marg ❣️
💗💗 always a great visit with you, Nancy,,,,,
Love socks,,,so you never disappoint,,,,lots of 🧦
You are busy,,wow,,,, 😲😲
Hope u get to sit and knit outside in ur deck soon,,,,
Take care,,,
ELAINE 🏡💕
Love ur sweater on you,,,,
We are putting the screen room together tomorrow, so hopefully outdoor knitting is coming very soon 🤓 I'm glad you enjoyed the sock heavy episode Elaine...thanks for always cheering me on 💕
Thanks for a great podcast, Nancy! I'm a fan of the "red" myself. It gave you just enough color to compliment that rich charcoal you're thinking of for a sweater. Maybe it could be your wine drinking sweater!
Bahaha!!! That's one way of thinking about it 🍷🥴 That just made.me laugh out loud, so I had to tell Brad...he's also laughing
Michaels carries the fix it crochet hooks. I think they are made by Beyer, but my first one I bought years ago was made by Susan Bates.
Thanks Laurie-Anne...I've been to Michaels and grabbed one 🤓
@knitsiphappy wonderful!! I'm glad I could help. It's such a handy little tool.
Thanks for showing pics of Archie Nancy. I know you did it for me!😂😂😂
Bahahah Marilyn...you know it!! Plus...he's awfully cute 💕
Nancy, Art of Yarn in Kelowna has bamboo ones and Twist of Yarn in Vernon has a set of three little crochet tools. I think my daughter bought my two ended tool that is on a key chain in a yarn shop near her then home in Toronto but don’t know the shop name.
Awesome!! Thanks Jennifer 💕 I've had lots of suggestions 🤓
The crochet, small for fixing …….Walmart…. My nephew got it for me there for Christmas.__
Perfect Carrie!!! Thanks for letting me know 🤓
I'm also knitting with a cotton/bamboo blend atm and experiencing exactly the same as you are with the Coboo. Splity but not too bad as long as you pay attention.
And it'll be worth it in the end because it makes a delicious fabric 🤓 What are you knitting Colette?
@@knitsiphappy I'm knitting a summer top. It's an interesting construction with the front and back panels knit separately flat for garter st collar. The panels are joined to knit the body in the round, st st. The shoulders are seamed together. The sleeves also start off flat. They are all over lace, increasing to make a wide gathered sleeve. The sleeve is also joined in the round at the end. It's then seamed into the armhole (set-in sleeve).
Wow! Yes that's a very interesting construction!
@@knitsiphappy Got to learn something new with every project!
hope to see you in Moncton soon! 😊
We will make it happen 🩷
Another lovely podcast, Nancy. There is going to be a bumper crop of apples, strawberries and blueberries this year, if the frost stays away. So many blossoms and earlier in the season.
It was definitely a milder winter and spring than normal around here. Thank you for keeping me company 💕
Knitted Knockers has a bottom up pattern that I find much easier. You start with 15 stitches.
I need to look that up for sure! Thanks Jackie 💕
Thank you for another good visit and update. Love the sweater you are wearing. Nice spinning. Lookking forward to seeing your sock heel video. Sounds brilliant. Enjoy your knitting.
Thanks for hanging out with me!! Every time that I wear that sweater I wonder why I haven't made another one 🤔 Someday!!
What is the pattern please? I just love this!
@@anajaibishop3200 It's the Ranunculus by Midori Hirose. All of the patterns I wear and talk about are linked in the description box below the video
Good Afternoon Nancy. Congratulations to the winner!!
Happy Sunday 😊 I hope you got lots of knitting done while I was chatting 🤓
I wonder if any viewers have a couple of grams of that yarn to finish your friends shorties? ❤
💛
Thanks for visiting Dianna 💕
Thank you, Nancy ❤
It's a complete pleasure to come and have a chat 💗
Add a stripe of color if you run short. It is not written that both socks have to match. Make it special!!!🧦
Thanks Penny❣️ I found a skein that was very similar in my stash and it's barely noticeable. I'll show you next time 🤓
Hi Nancy
I got my little repair tool at Michael's - I'm in the US. I can send you one if you like
Thanks so much Sheila...that's very kind❣️ I'm told that Walmart in Canada carries them, so I'm going to have a look next time I'm in there 🤓
@@knitsiphappy ok good luck!
But the offer stands!
I'll DM you on insta in a week or 2
short hook with needle end, susan bates I think makes them and got mine at michaels I carry one in my wallet at all times for about 3$ I'll mail ya one or drop it to you in NB next time through
xx Cat
Thanks Cat....thays very kind of you 💕 I popped into Michael's and grabbed one 🤓
Love the Ranunculus talk.. great tips. Question for you. Have you used Jennys stretchy bind off? I hae used it twice and find that it makes the ribbing lean towards the left all around the sweater .
Thanks Paige❣️ I have used Jenny's, but I think only on socks. I wonder if it's the twisted ribbing that caused the lean 🤔 But that's a complete guess
@@knitsiphappy I used a k1, p1 straight ribbing. What bind off do you routinely use. Thanks
Sorry Paige! I just saw your reply. I've started using an Italian Sewn Bind Off on all of my garments
@@knitsiphappy Thanks, I shall try that method. Cheers!
What did you(make the Sunshine Coast in? It’s beautiful
It's a Hayfield discontinued bamboo yarn unfortunately 😟
Great podcast thank you ☕️🧶😊,I just got a set of fix it tools from amazon , cheep too 👍
Oh good!! I'll have a look....thank you❣️❣️
