From what I’ve seen the biggest reason for driver turnover is the harassment and crappy pay. Management sees drivers as thieves and liabilities. Once that changes and get rid of driver facing cameras and driver turnover won’t be an issue.

The biggest reason I retired six years ago was the driver facing cameras that I heard were being installed in many trucks. I had planned to work longer but then said to heck with it.

Re; driver facing cameras...I taped a piece of paper over mine last year. The dispatcher told me that they wouldn't use the dfc, but dispatchers have lied to me in the past.

Many companies hate their own drivers

The company I work for has told me that if I want more money I should stay on the road longer. Same pay and more miles. I'm living the dream.

Can't wait to retire. Out smarted this crooked industry. Been putting car payments into 2 retirement funds lived below my means stayed out of debt. I encourage young drivers to do the same. Eat healthy say no sometimes to over worked.

Main Werner terminal is a big beautiful building but drivers is under it. Felt like a dog. Instant coffee, dirty towels but we can look and see all the nice stuff in the offices

Good pay and a good dispatcher will keep drivers around. My jobs is full of bullshit and incompetent warehouse workers and load planners but my pay and dispatcher keep me around. Theres nothing worse than an asshole dispatcher. There are a dozen reasons i want to leave my job but i know i wont make this kind of money elsewhere and i could get a shitty dispatcher. Its just not worth the risk of leaving

You are so right, There is more than enough money in this industry.
You ever notice all of these new travel centers going up?
Love's in pilot. And that is so true of these big companies and smaller ones. Keep following sustop spending so much on wanted Mommy. Start thinking about the drivers and who they hire like you said.
It will make a whole lot of sense. 9 out of 10 people inside the office of a trucking company do not have even 6 months of experience over the road. But yes, still everybody claim to be an expert with no experience.
When is it coming to trucking. Everyone that digging their hands into the trucking market. Where the money's concern, I'm making way more money and not the drivers. I often say things will never get better in trucking until the dreverse. And I'm not talking about somebody all stand up for something. If you calculate the time a driver spent in a truck against how much did they get paid is about less than $5 an hour. I can go on alone. But I appreciate you for sharing light on a lot of topics that need to be heard in the driving industry. It used to be one of the best jobs in the industry back in the day, but no, it is a shame

As soon as you get a CDL to drive a truck you lose some of your Rights as a U.S. citizen. That is just a FACT.

“Not enough money to pay the drivers” yet the people at the top that don’t drive, are getting millions… yeah that makes sense.
