Craig... after a long day at work, settling down to your thread response. Outstanding! I love that fact that you added in bios, and ages. Familar with all you showed here, except for The Gossip: will add them to the list to check out. Book of Love, Debora Iyall, and good ol' Tanya. T Muses and Beautiful South I listened to quite a bit in my '80's college days, and got to see the Muses live here in New Haven CT circa Hunkpapa. Thank you again for the plug and taking the time to make the video. Sidebar: I'll notate if any of my future videos are 'jazz free' as a courtesy to you! That made me laugh, along with text messages. Great stuff, and I appreciate it! 😎🎶🎸🎤🎹
I was supposed to see Throwing Muses in 1992 and my friends never came and picked me up. I’m still bitter about it! I appreciate the “jazz feee”! I mean I’m ok if people love jazz. Just don’t expect me to! I did a couple “random female artists” video last year that I meant to be a series but I sorta forgot about it. You inspired me to pick it back up. I had forgotten who I mentioned in those so I went back and checked. I mentioned of couple of them in this video. Thanks again!!
@CraigsVinylPlethora Glad I could light that fire again for you! Having fun, and trying some new things as I go along. I'll probably do another all female video down the road with some less familar and /or unappreciated artists. Don't worry...there are no 'obligatory jazz videos' on the horizon 😎🎷🎶
Hi Craig, great thread response. I Discovered you from play vinyl in the milky night link and subscribed. Many artists you showed I am not familiar with so will check them out. Book of love and beautiful south agree are indeed excellent. Throwing Muses and Belly are high on my want list, great video!
Thank you so much for watching! Mike is great! I have a somewhat unhealthy love for the beautiful south, well maybe it’s that way for most of the artists I love!
Interesting thread. I almost forgot about Romeo Void! Gonna have to hunt for that "Never Say Never" EP (the 7" is harder to find) and also the 7" of "Girl In Trouble." I just did a video on the 2024 Grammy-nodded albums in my collection and it was somewhat female-heavy, but I might do a separate video on this thread.
I have the 7” for “Girl in Trouble” I think I paid $1 for it. But that was years ago. I will check out your Grammy video. I’d love to see your take on this thread. Thanks for watching!
I love Mary's Danish, only have them on CD. You are the only other person I've heard talk about them. I did this thread as well, with some expected choices for me like J Hatfield and a couple of obscure country & Americana artists (Kelsey Waldon, Annie Williams, end of my video) that you might like.
I watched yours. I just failed to comment because I’m a terrible human being! I actually had Juliana on my list but I’m trying not to duplicate anyone if I can! I wrote those gals down and will check them out.
Hey Craig, so many great bands and artists you showed. Love the Throwing Muses, of course. Their debut was self-titled, came out before House Tornado. Great album, has the songs "Green" and "Hate My Way" which are some of my favorites. Love this thread, might have to do one myself. Great stuff!
@@CraigsVinylPlethora I do that all the time! It's a great album, you should definitely go get one, the vinyl wasn't hard to find when I went looking a few years ago.
Just subbed! Everything female is beautiful! Nice glasses by the way. Romeo Void was sooooooo good! Had no idea that Goldfrapp had that many records. 😮 Do you like the Twits from Tempe? Very hardcore, Bikini Kill vibe. You just nailed Tanya! Great artist, but yeah. She still has it. The world is not enough. Some people want to fuck, fish, smoke, and be peace upon this world. Throwing Muses is classic! Great video! Cheers!
Great video Craig! Love your choices! Book of Love AND Jacqui Abbott AND Throwing Muses? Excellent! (Plus Goldfrapp is a personal favorite of mine) Did you hear the story about the new John Grant album, Art of the Lie? He's a big Kristin Hersh fan and got to meet her. He always loved the fonts on 4AD albums and asked where theirs came from. She said it was just her handwriting. He gave her a piece of paper and pen and asked her to write his name down. It became his new album logo for eternity (he says)! Pretty cool! Keep up these great videos! I must go play some Candy Carol now. So jealous you have Blue is the Colour! Been looking for years and was almost reissued a couple years ago but they stopped. The original is s $300 record now!! Give us a reissue STAT!! 😉
I did not know that about the John Grant album. That is amazing! I really want the final 3 TBS albums to be released on vinyl. Especially the covers albums. Alison is know Jacqui but she’s pretty great. They need to release Blue is the Colour on blue vinyl. I would buy it!
Great video. I wasn't familiar with most of these albums. So thanks for the recommendations! 🎶
Yay Book of Love!
❤

So many artists that I need to discover! Fantastic response, Craig. I need to jump on this thread.
Thank you Mark! I’d love to see your response no doubts you’d show some terrific ladies!

I knew House Tornado was not the debut but my brain is toast lately! I still need to get the debut. I don’t think I’ve actually heard it.

@@playvinylinthemilkynight1879 I found it on discogs. Not Many US sellers have it. Is it worth $45? Thats the cheapest I’ve found it for.
