looks so cool and i want to try to make one, but wouldn't full rebar like that hurt your wrist and elbow with the kickback?
Not gonna hate, the end result is cool as heck
But... the loud music and some of the close-up shots with quick cuts make it a bit jarring.
"Too cinematic", if that makes any sense. I don't know.

Its a great concept, but my only concern is that rebar typical does not have enough carbon content to harden so the final quench's effect on the quality is questionable. Perhaps it would benefit from using a case hardening technique o the cutting area to up the localized carbon content and allow for hardening to occur. Production and concept wise this video gets an A+

I like the idea of using rebar for the head. But with the handle as well, it's probably a bit too heavy for a hatchet and difficult to keep straight.
Video itself is god damn inspiring, Igor! But please... please-please-please... use this diamond cutters with angle grinder protection. It's unbelievable dangerous to use it without them.

Worst material you can choose for a blade.Rebar cant be hardend properly due its low carbon content,holds edge poorly and its flexible.
If you were to insert an peace of old file in between for cutting edge then yea ,but even then handle will bend.
plus the vibration of hitting it will literally hurt your hand

Made for looks and it has a nice industrial look, but in the end it's a shitty hatchet. Nowhere near enough weight in the head.
I thought he would open a high-carbon steel blade, and he left the fittings, and even hardened in WATER! I am disappointed.
Like put for good business.
