Mr. Blunstone is being so HUMBLE and relatable! I love hearing him explaining things so simply to the younger generation. There are so many things I take for granted as being understood that clearly aren't. Of course the Rob Squad are the likable people we know, but what an incredible honor to have Mr. Blunstone. I've listened to the zombies since my dad asked for a Zombies record for Christmas. I bought The Animals for him the year after that. Great family memories. I love how this music can bridge the generations.

What a huge honor to have Colin Blunstone on to give a first hand explanation of the times and the background for this classic. I am old enough to have enjoyed the British Invasion in the 60's and I have always loved his voice. Fantastic voice....so unique and what a combination of talent in the band!

The guy is also very humble in giving a lot of credit to Rod Argent, which is well-deserved, instead of taking all the glory himself.

It's so interesting listening to Mr. Blunstone talk about 'Tell Her No.' It was especially amusing where he mentions stumbling over the lyrics "Don't take her love from my arms." As many times as I've heard this song, I never picked up on it before. Now I can't unhear it. 😆It doesn't matter. The song is still perfection to me.

In addition to their immense musical talents, Colin Blunstone and Rod Argent are two of the nicest, most gracious gentlemen you would ever want to meet. I have had the privilege of speaking to both of them aboard some of the rock 'n' roll cruises they have performed on.
If I'm recalling correctly... when Rod talked about the early days of forming the band, he was going to be the lead singer. And then Colin opened his mouth. :) There was also something about how Rod was noodling around on a piano while waiting for the other guys to show up, and when they heard him, they said you MUST play piano in this band. He protested that rock 'n' roll didn't include pianos. Fortunately he changed his mind about that!

Hi guys. Love Colin's story of mumbling a line and being told don't worry about it. George Harrison told a similar story about how he messed up on a part early on and was told "Don't worry we'll bury it in the mix". 25 years later he remembered that and so came up with the name for the band the "Wilburys".

First, Thank you Jay and Amber for introducing The Creators to your audience. It is a thrill for some of us who grew up with their music to "catch up" with them or "meet" them for the first time.
Second, Colin, what a revelation when you said how Rod was influenced by Burt Bacharach's style when writing "Tell Her No!" I grew up listening to you guys as well as Dionne Warwick singing so many Bacharach songs so the moment you mentioned that, the connection was so apparent. Thank you for all the hours of enjoyment I have had over the last 60 years listening to The Zombies.

A real pleasure Colin! The Zombies were 1 of the great Invasion bands and unlike any others. I'm 72 here and lived and heard so much of the great music from the 50's and on and guessing the 3rd song you'll bring is my favorite "Time of the Season". When radio airplay was full of songs that had to fit a mold, appeal to the kids and be 3 minutes long and not too different, your group came up with a song unlike anything then or now. A masterpiece. I saw Ringo and his all star band years ago and Argent performed it and got at least a 7 minute standing, cheering ovation! Glad to have you still here all these years later and hope that life has treated you well. Thanks for being here for us.

The Zombies were guest artists on that cruise, and one evening Rod and Colin did an acoustic show, just the two of them and Rod playing piano. They played that song. Now, I am a musician (flutist), and my musician's ear hears all the clunkers, so I am a tougher audience than many. Having said that... I was completely mesmerized by that performance, and almost fell out of my chair. It was THAT good.
