Thank you for this nice review of what is now my place of residence. I don't know your Manchester very well, went to a trade show there 10 years ago - that's all but I did grow up in the UK (Torquay) so I can state that this town is more like home than most places in the US. But if you had only delayed your visit a few days (it's Nov-2 today) you could see Duran Duran in all their glory at a concert down town. Great connection to the old country. Cheers.
Hello, another Manchester 2 resident here, people actually live in those mill buildings you were showcasing. A few of these are mixed-use developments that have apartments inside as well as retail, restaurants, and office space. Very, very tall ceilings and windows. One fun fact that wasn't featured in your video is that the chicken tender was invented here (supposedly) in a restaurant called Puritan Backroom.
Next time he comes here he should visit the See Science Center and its Lego reproduction of the citiy, including its one-time penchant for building octagonal houses.
Those mills in Manchester, New Hampshire are massive Ollie. Until this video of yours, we would never have known what this place was all about. Some similarites to the City Of Manchester, Lancashire are apparent, and it's good to see other English towns mentioned. Sorry about you getting soaked but you've done a good video here, with some good information. Thank you, and take care. PS love that wide river!
Nice one Ollie, spent time roaming around New England in years gone by, discovered a couple of Manchester's. Hope you've had a lovely holiday driving around, beautiful time of year be there too.
It was fascinating to find out that in Australian supermarkets such as Coles and Woolworths, "Manchester" is actually a noun for linen, bedding and towels!
Very enjoyable watch, are you going to make it to California/Redondo Beach area??? I have been to New "England" many times -- so much to see and enjoy. Ollie, if you have time maybe drive along the coast of Maine north of Portland, many small fishing towns. Again, welcome to America.
Are you talking about Leeds, over a mountain range, do you mean the Pennines. Plenty of Fells, hills and moors, but not many mountains between Lancashire and Yorkshire. 😂😂

Hi thanks for letting me know. I did wonder if there were people living in them. Very like Manchester UK then with mixed use mills.
Absolutely loved this Ollie, thank you!
You're so welcome!
Welcome to Manchester, NH, we do things similar here.
Greetings from Manchester, NH.

All the repeated mispronunciations were ignored in order to appreciate the historical storytelling that made this video wonderful. Thank You ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
It rained. I mean it would have been unauthentic if it hadn’t
Great vid Ollie - very interestin' I'd never heard of t'other Manchester.
Don't let @MartinZero hear you say the merrimack is better than the medlock 🤣🤣
Hahaha
Fascinating video, pity they didn't name the opposite bank, Salford.
Had I known you were here, I’d have happily bought you a beer at the local breweries.
Haha thanks that's very nice!
Fantastic video again Ollie. Thanks so much 😊
Glad you enjoyed it
Looking forward to more New England content! Amazing video ❤
Thanks very much!

Yes I have its been brilliant! Love discovering new places!
He went to Manchester USA and bought the rain with him
I tried very hard to lose that rain but it followed me on the plane
At first I could've swore you was in Stockport.

Yeah it's so fascinating to think how well known and respected Manchester was around the world by the 1800s.
Great video, I wondered what it like. 😊
In hono(u)r of his visit, the city gave him typical UK weather to make him feel welcome.
Haha next time I'll let them know not to be so welcoming!
Severe lack of Tram action...
Great video
Thanks!
You missed an opportunity to Clarksonise the "In the woooorld" lol.
There was the Bateman family who moved from Manchester in England to Salt Lake City, Utah to become Mormons.
Poor buggers.
Give me the original any day, I bet the American version would never have produced Joy Division, The Smiths, Oasis etc! ✌

California and the West Coast are on my list, maybe next year!!
@@BeeHereNowuk If you make it here, I'll show you around.......
You should know it always rains in Manchester 😂
Quality rkid.
Its only rain. You should be used to it ☂☔☔
I didn't realise there was another Manchester in America
Wait until you hear about the Manchester in Bolivia.
It’s not as big as the one in the UK.
Safe travels, Ollie, so far away
Ah, I bet there's a better city, not far from it, that's maybe over a mountain range, name beginning with an L... 😉
Lancashire isn't a city, but glad to see you recognise it as god's own country 🫡
@@ethyhayesThey are referring to the cities of Lancaster surely?
