Gorr’s story is very sad but very understandable he’s the epitome of human curiosity and vengeance. I hope his story is done right in the movies, ( which I highly doubt) his story is not for kids at all. Gorr is the type of person to make you see the truth under all the ignorance of belief.

Yeah the movies tend to dumb down Marvel a lot, which is unfortunate because comics wise Marvel heroes are a lot more morally complex and Grey than DC. How they did civil war already told me they don't want to go down that route. They even had to give Thanos the dumbest most illogical motivations in an attempt to make him more family friendly and not a complete psychopath whose somewhat sympathetic as he himself is a victim of Death who wouldn't let him escape his obsession with her (imagine if we got him murdering him family as tribute to her in theaters). Every potential complex system gets turned into a one note black and white villain.
Thanos is a far more complex and interesting villain in the films than the comics. Evil for the sake of evil isn’t interesting. A villain who is understandable and sympathetic is far more interesting. MCU Thanos acts how he does because of trauma and grief.

1:06 I think there is a bigger validation for comic book creators than having their character in a movie and that is them getting a big paycheck for the character rights.
David Aja, Ed Brubaker and Joe Quinones thinks so, most comic book creators do.
Give creators their overdue compensations. They fricking deserve it.

Movie Gorr is far from being Comic Gorr in the film. They literally take his name and make him nothing like comic Gorr.
I feel so sorry and sad for Gorr. My mans was just being faced with tragedy after tragedy and after being confronted with dying Gods, he unleashed all of his fury and hatred on them and from then on, he becomes an antagonist towards all religions

To be fair, Kratos learned when to stop and is currently on a path to redemption. Gorr never stopped.
Gorr is nothing before Kratos.
In the end, it depends on writing and quarterly sales.

I finally read all of Jason Aaron’s Thor run a couple of months back and it was fantastic. My favorite arcs being the god butcher arc, the godbomb arc, the mighty Thor arc, and the king Thor arc. I can’t wait to read Donny Cates run once it’s collected in hardcover!
As a kid we love heroes.
As an adult we understand villain.
Goddamn, Gorr sounds like a really cool character. A dope backstory and motivation, a cool alien design and the freaking NecroSword

Gorr origin would make an excellent animated movie. Imagine they writers who did under the red hood got to animate this story. Cant weight for the MCU version
You know, typically I don't care for animated movies like that, but I agree, that could work very well
Yeah they could do something like the "hulk vs" movie
He would have to look exactly like Christian Bale with Human features and no Tentacles in the Animated Film to keep it consistent with the Film
Even though this new villain has been in existence for almost 10 years, Gorr seems to make a fitting part around Thor’s Rogues Gallery. Christian Bale is the best actor to bring the character and cross into the MCU as this point after a long successful career not to mention doing his part into keeping the genre Comic Book movies to live with The Dark Knight Trilogy rebooting Batman’s live action division. Can’t wait to see Thor Love and Thunder this month.
The thing I love about bale being casted is that he’s very selective about what movies he’s in. He doesn’t care about a big paycheck or anything. So this alone tells me the story must be amazing

Gorr even deciding to procreate after everything he went through reminded me of a movie where some people were locked in a well and had to be forced into cannibalism, but a couple still found the energy to bang.
Here after seeing Thor Love and thunder and can verify that Gorr was Butchered 💀.

I could see Gorr, the god butcher and Knull, the god of the symbiotes working together. Because Knull used the Necro sword and went on a genocide against the other gods and, so did Gorr, thus proving that even the gods are not perfect.

Gorr is such a great villain. My favorite Thor villain. While Christian Bale is a great actor for Gorr, I don't think the movie gave him enough to work with.
I think Knull the god of the symbiotes and Gorr the god butcher are pretty cool characters.
Fun Fact, that black God Gorr got the All Black from is actually Knull, the Creator God of the Symbiotes I.E. The King in Black.
So yeah, if you think the All Black seems like a symbiote, that's cause it kinda is.
I’m pretty sure Knull made the Necrosword in the void before time or something like that. There should be videos on it and I think they might have it in part of King In Black.

At least he had a happier ending in the movie than he did in the comics, after seeing Thor not being selfish like the gods of his world he used the wish thing to bring back his daughter and trusted Thor to take care of her,

We are getting closer to seeing Knull on the big screen. And I can't wait.
We have had 2 venom movies, and now we have All-black. Knull would have to be the end of marvel.
And then marvel could do a hard reboot with other heros we haven't really seen much.

A B&B movie theatre sounds awesome. And Christian Bale in a MCU Movie 🔥. Good to see him back in a comic book film 10 years after the last dark knight movie. And Gorr sounds like the dark Marvel version of Saint Walker but who lost his faith and in a darkseid origin manner took his anger out on all the gods that took his family away. The movie origins story of Gorr was too short and didnt do it justice
in the comics, Thor actually had to team up with his past self and future self to finally beat Gorr, and that wouldn't be the last time the Holy Trinity of Thors would team up
the incident with Gorr actually planted a seed of doubt in Thor's mind, about how Gods are horrible entities the world would be better off without, this doubt eventually caused Thor to lose his worthiness and ability to wield Mjolnir, he was forced to abandon it on the moon, where it would later be picked up by Jane, who heard its calling and used it to become Lady Thor
Hope they don't change Gorr too much in the movie.... Can't wait to see Bale deliver !!! 👍👍👍

You guys remember when this movie was first teased back in 2019.It took almost 3 years to come out.
I was already familiar with Gorr’s origin story, but this might be my first time learning about how Thor defeated him. Anyway, I’m really looking forward to Christian Bale’s performance in Thor: Love and Thunder.

Who do you think is more powerful between Gorr the God Butcher and Adam Warlock? Can you do history of Adam Warlock, Valkyrie, Zeus, Hercules and Ares?
Having read some of the plot spoilers about the relatrd movie. I'm pretty sure MCU Gorr's design and looks is minor difference compared to the treatment of the character in the movie. Gorr comic character is such a badass it took 3 Thors of different eras to defeat him. Can't say the same at the MCU gorr.
If you think about it, in the movies Gorr fought Thor, Jane and Valkyre at the same time. It may be a reference to Gorr originally fighting against 3 Thors
I really wish they gave us any of this backstory. It was like 20 seconds of desert wandering.

In the comics Gorr had a way better origin and story arc and yet Waititi made it like a parody.

I have theory: the MCU version of Gorr exists because of Snap and since half the population was gone, it was harder to get food for everyone and most of his people starved.

Talk about suffering. Truly the greatest villains of all time have lost someone or experienced great suffering.
I can’t believe y’all just skimmed over King Thor like that. Gorr became one with the Necrosword and is resurrected after Loki had taken it. He then comes back to fight Old King Thor and consumes what’s left of the universe to become the All-Black the Necroverse. After Thor defeats him, he becomes mortal and insane and is watched over by the Sky Lords.
I’m glad Christian Bale gets a chance to have fun with the villain role a great actor that was lucky enough to work with the greatest villain in cinematic history and make his own mark just like his partner in the dark knight.

I mean later on we find out that the necrosword was a creation of Knull-the god of the symbiotes. So technically Gorr was using a symbiote to kill gods. And if you look at Thor’s history he has a lot of battles with symbiotes directly connected to Knull, so honestly Knull is like Thor’s archenemy.
They should ve made Gort look like in the comicbook.
