I was pleasently surprissed by this. When they announced him I thought he was going to sing his Eurovision song, which I'm not really a fan of. But this whole performance blew my mind, this style definetely suits him and he pulled this so good it almost seemed like I was watching the concert of a celebrity with decades of experience. No wonder he's so big in Sweden, and still has a bright future ahead.

Yes, I love his discography, but Dance You Off definitely doesn't do him justice

I don't see a problem with Sweden promoting a Swedish artist when they host the competition. All hosts should highlight and show what their country has to offer

It's not even like he's a random Swedish artist, he represented Sweden at Eurovision before
Eurovision fans don’t probably get that, but out of all Swedish ESC-artists from the 2010s he’s had the best career in Sweden. He is one of the biggest artists in Sweden.

Exactly! That's one of the many reasons I found Italy's Eurovision hosting so disappointing. They had Mika, who has nothing to do with Italy, perform a medley of his songs and host the show?! On top of that, Maneskin didn't open the finale with their winning song, in fact they didn't perform it at all, the stage was surrounded by a loud waterfall and the camera work was terribly sloppy...
If he went to Eurovision with Honey Boy he would've won 100%

What a PERFORMANCE, this man is a born showman and deserves to be a global household name
He REALLY was born a showman, his mother Pernilla Wahlgren a famous musical artist in Sweden and his father and uncle dancers. His grandmother a famous actress in Sweden, his cousin being part of Swedish House Mafia, his god mother being Charlotte Perelli etc etc.

Look at his face at the end of the performance- he has really put all his soul into this❤
He probably was quite eager for his grandparents to see the show; during the pandemic he had shows just for them in their kitchen as he couldn't have regular concerts due to the restrictions. His grandfather died two days after this performance so I really hope he was still lucid enough to enjoy the show.

You can see it in his eyes the whole performance. If I had something in my life I'd enjoy like he does this right there I'd be a happy person.
I’m so happy that Benjamin are coming into a new era, this really suits him and it’s original. His new songs feels nostalgic in a weird way.

For everyone saying Benjamin is influenced by Harry… Benjamin released his first song in 2015 and Harry became a solo artist in 2017. And Benjamin has been in the entertainment industry since he was a little child. He is very talented and at least here in Sweden he’s well known 🤩
the fact that this guy placed low (for swedish standards) in his initial competition year and is now (after years of hard work and making a name for himself in sweden) awarded with getting the best half-time show of all three of the contest nights is so cool. i love benjamin’s voice and he just oozes charisma, so happy to have seen him back on a eurovision stage. this was honestly better than any of the other half-time shows in years

What a showman! This went OFF in the hall - felt more like a Superbowl Halftime show. If SVT had put this and We Just Love Eurovision Too Much into the final, it would have been the perfect show.

His performance in 2018 didnt stuck with me, because I forgot.. the song was boring. He had a image shift.
@@mops6685 During covid he stopped writing songs in English and released some songs in Swedish that were more old-school melodic pop. And now when he's back to writing in English he has stuck to that style. Me personllly like it a lot.

Can we just take a moment to appreciate how AMAZING the lighting design is this year? Last year was great, but I am simply blown away by this year's lighting. By the looks of it, this year could be one of the best we have had in a while. Amazing work from the whole team who put this show together really pays off. Well done!!!
In my opinion, the best stage and lightning in ESC history. Also so cool with the green room one level up behind the screen.
Sweden can into Eurovision, and it's a well-known fact
Fredrik Stormby, the Light and Screen Content Designer, also did the light design for Loreen's stage show for "Tattoo" last year and Eurovision 2016. He's also worked with Beyoncé's Renaissance World Tour, ASAP Rocky, and ABBA Voyage.
Tbh, I didn't get to watch the first semi-final at first, only half the second semi-final and the grand finale. I didn't like the stage design that much and we didn't have any big soudn & light show as the ones we got in 2016 with the whole flag parade or in 2023 with the 40s light show right before the parade. So this year's initially didn't get me. However, I've completely changed my mind now that I've seen this performance. We can see the stage used to its full potential and YES, the stage lightning is actually mind blowing. I just wished they would have used it more during the Grand Finale, the potential of it was incredible.
All that work from those amazing engineers just to get some woke gays and freaks to scream on stage.
Ingrosso was the only good act this whole evening.

My Dear Mother,who sadly passed away this spring,loved Benjamin. 87 years old as she was she thought the world of this young man.
Well she wanted him to wash his hair but on the other hand " He does look like Jesus!"

He evolved so much through years, no wonder that he became such a successful artist like this, because he works hard whole his life, even though he has nice, kind of artistic family background, too.😊

Not often a live vocal is better than a recorded version of a song but that last song…mind blowingly brilliant. Benjamin, have a beer my friend, that’s some work you put in and it paid off in SPADES! He has come a long way from being the boy whom nobody voted for... And I say that with love, I liked him already back then - but now he has reached a whole other level!! This was just overall gorgeous!

@@greatlife9638 He got 21 points from the audience :). It was the 4th last entry in televoting. He was 7th because the jury gave him 253 points. But doesn't matter, I loved his performance already then and he took the result with humor.

An example of a great singer knowing exactly how their voice works and what it can do….perfect range for every song = note perfect performance allowing him to have loads of fun with the choreography. He knows exactly what he’s doing! Good man!

Having not kept up with him post-ESC 2018, I didn't realize how much he's changed and grown into his whole style! What a surprisingly great performance that kept a nostalgic smile on my face the whole time; almost felt like a redemption arc for him on the Eurovision stage (regardless of the fact his career doesn't sound like it needed it)
Weird to see him all grown up and also reminding his name as he used to be a contestant.... However, he lit and made a real show even more than what we got in the interval of the final. Good job.
