That leg (the one that is bent and bearing the majority of Strome’s weight) being moved back throws off Strome’s balance and causes him to tumble forward. It's not your stereotypical "stick in the skates"-type of trip, but I would still consider it to "tripping" in the sense of the rule, which is "place the stick, knee, foot, arm, hand, or elbow in such a manner that causes his opponent to trip or fall"

Is it still goalie interference if the offensive player gets crosschecked into the goalie by the defender? Thats when his stick caused the pad to move. When he was falling from a cross check. I see that as a good goal. The interference was caused by the action of a defensive player.
As a leafs fan this happened to us 3 times last year both simmonds, Thornton and maybe galchenyuk got goals disallowed for the same reason. So any argument made about this go read the rules. Yes some aren't followed but usually any rule dealing with the goalie is enforced.

Damn rangers got shafted on that one! That’s a good goal, you can swat at the puck if it’s not completely covered plus the defender pushed Strome into the goalie.
For the tripping argument if the defenceman makes no attempt to attack(push, check, stick lift, tieing up the attacking players stick, slash) the offensive player is completely responsible for what happens during play. So Strome is 100% responsible for his actions(the "tripping" and the interference). Therefore no goal is the correct call by the rules.

It doesn't matter if the goalie has control or not. If your teammate takes a shot from the blue line you don't get to push the goalie out of the way "because the goalie doesn't have control." Control is irrelevant-it's not a part of how interference is determined. As the announcers said, if the call had been that Talbot had it, there would be a clear goal because he didn't have control. But the issue is that at :59-1:03, you can see Strome take a whack where he thinks the puck is, then catch the pad with the blade of his stick and push. That push is why Talbot falls over, and that is textbook interference.
If you to :59, then watch to 1:03, you see Strome take a whack at where he thinks the puck is, then the blade of his stick goes to the foot part of Talbot's pad and pushes Talbot's leg back. That unbalances Talbot so he falls over, freeing the puck. That's what the interference is. Where the puck is at that point is irrelevant (except, obviously, that it hadn't scored) because you can't push the goalie back like that.
I see that his bad was slightly contacted with, but then Talbbot spreads out and lays flat and that puck was loose and then went in so could have gone both ways because Talbot did not keep his bad on the line despite the contact he decided to lay flat and try to cover it, so from what I have seen it's a cluster fuck of many things LMAO, but it all comes down to the Ref and there judgement on the play.

But mtl has a guy drilling the goalie into the net and they call it a call lol.
New York fans the type to litter in their own barn. Animals.
damn, sometimes the fans just follow the leader instead of judging for themselves. Clearly pushed his pad in. Too bad the NHL didnt call it 5 years ago when Kessler was sitting on Talbots pads preventing him from getting up. Great to see Talbot get one his way. ruclips.net/video/qGibUFPn6Oo/видео.html
Every fan base is like that. It’s cringey and irritating as hell seeing fans boo or getting upset over good calls.
maybe its because the defense tripped Strome, and that was what caused Talbots pad to get pushed in
@@townfool4682 maybe I’m just blind, but I don’t see a trip. What I saw was Strome losing his balance, and you can maybe attribute that to the wild player pushing him. But I definitely do not see a trip.
@@dylanhope3252 It's hard to see from the overhead, but a bit clearer from the side angle. Foligno’s stick makes hard contact against Strome’s shin, and as he pulls his stick back against the shin, he moves Strome’s leg back. That leg (the one that is bent and bearing the majority of Strome’s weight) being moved back throws off Strome’s balance and causes him to tumble forward. It's not your stereotypical "stick in the skates"-type of trip, but I would still consider it to "tripping" in the sense of the rule, which is "place the stick, knee, foot, arm, hand, or elbow in such a manner that causes his opponent to trip or fall"
clearly interference but any fanbase would be upset
How is that "clearly" interference?
Not a fan base that knows the rules
@@joeg3741 Not even close to interference

@@joeg3741 Are we pretending like this league is known for it's fair and consistent calls, or are we going to acknowledge that this league makes wrong calls all the time?
Why would the fans throw garbage on the ice, when there's already garbage on the ice - the New York Rangers?
Is it still goalie interference if the offensive player gets crosschecked into the goalie by the defender? I thought that was considered a defensive player action causing the interference, therefore the goal should stand. Stromme doesn’t shove the goalies pad until he gets crosschecked and falls down. Thats when his stick caused the pad to move. When he was falling from a cross check. I see that as a good goal. The interference was caused by the action of a defensive player.
Calls have been hard with the new rules...
That is actually a very good call. Good on these refs
When I saw the White Claw can on the ice... I knew at least one female in the stands was chanting "ASSHOLE"
As a leafs fan this happened to us 3 times last year both simmonds, Thornton and maybe galchenyuk got goals disallowed for the same reason. So any argument made about this go read the rules. Yes some aren't followed but usually any rule dealing with the goalie is enforced.
Proof that Leafs fans will find any reason to make any hockey conversation; even one about a game where neither team is even in the same division as them, about the Leafs.
@@Kairi_uwu Nope. Go to r/hockey and and read any thread, it's always Leaf haters bringing them up. No wonder why Fox refused to play for Calgary or Carolina, he had to go to the baby team.

Great call
yeah nah i’m sorry i have absolutely no idea how everyone is saying this is a good call. talbot’s pad going into the net was completely his own doing, strome definitely made contact with his stick but he didn’t push into the net, you can clearly talbot fall on his own.
I was at the game it was amazing
Ranger fans threw "themselves" on the ice. Fixed it.

1:21 After Video Review, The Call of The Ice is Confirmed, There's No Goal on the Play!
right call
Good call
lets go wild
You’d think rangers fans would know how to cope with a loss smh
class from NYC as usual disgrace to the state.
They call this goalie interference now this late in the season lol? WtF is wrong with these refs being so inconsistent
Yet Cirelli goal against Montreal was a good goal? Refs will need a refresh training this summer. At least to get aligned.
Damn rangers got shafted on that one! That’s a good goal, you can swat at the puck if it’s not completely covered plus the defender pushed Strome into the goalie.
The stick pushed the goalie into the net…
For the tripping argument if the defenceman makes no attempt to attack(push, check, stick lift, tieing up the attacking players stick, slash) the offensive player is completely responsible for what happens during play. So Strome is 100% responsible for his actions(the "tripping" and the interference). Therefore no goal is the correct call by the rules.
Good call he pushed talbot
The Zebras love being the villains! 🤣
Bettman won't allow them to be bullied
No villain here besides the fans. Just disgraceful
I don’t understand the crowd. Why boo them out? Do they want the refs to allow the Rangers to cheat? It wasn’t exactly a hard call. It was obvious as hell from the goal cam.
New York fans in a nut shell.
good call
Rangers fans...Yankees fans... very much alike. They expect their team to win every game and if it doesnt happen, there's a conspiracy afoot.
Rangers fans throw themselves on ice?
good call but i understand the disappointment.
LET'S GO WILD!!
I say I hate Hartman, but I don’t. I liked him with the hawks I’m just upset he’s kicking ass somewhere else, hawks suck this year and need help.
I hate it when they call No-Goal almost every time but...this is not one of those times, this was a clear No-Goal. The final, overhead, replay in slowmo made it super clear.
Could you give the time stamp of when a stick pushes Talbots pad into the net, cuz i think its no goal but i could be wrong

@@hithere9235 Brandon Baetens look him up refs NCAA bender city like yourself referees are garbage. But best of luck. Google Steve Oleksy and Chad Larose played with both but you seem to know shit .
Not a rangers fan but the goalie never had control of the puck. Should be a good goal.
Not sure why that wasn’t a goal but…as a Wild fan…😁
If you to :59, then watch to 1:03, you see Strome take a whack at where he thinks the puck is, then the blade of his stick goes to the foot part of Talbot's pad and pushes Talbot's leg back. That unbalances Talbot so he falls over, freeing the puck. That's what the interference is. Where the puck is at that point is irrelevant (except, obviously, that it hadn't scored) because you can't push the goalie back like that.
Who here is a NYR fan and agree it was the right call?
I see that his bad was slightly contacted with, but then Talbbot spreads out and lays flat and that puck was loose and then went in so could have gone both ways because Talbot did not keep his bad on the line despite the contact he decided to lay flat and try to cover it, so from what I have seen it's a cluster fuck of many things LMAO, but it all comes down to the Ref and there judgement on the play.
But tampa bays goal agaisnt mtl was good, wayyyyyyyyyy to go NHL
Canada team, Bettman hates Canada teams
When I worked as a mascot this goal was called ALL THE TIME 🤬🤬🤬. The puck would get dropped at center ice and they would call THAT a goal, but when I do a toe drag, between the legs Michigan goal, it got called back over some dumb shit. Anyway we lost that game, also Adam Fox is elite, or whoever the Rags are idolizing this year.
Trash after the replay?? Class act from the NY fans
If you were a Rangers fan, you would understand. Most frustrating team to ever root for aside for maybe another NY team called the Knicks. Let those other fans without sin throw the 1st piece of garbage. Lol
Or.. idk, maybe the Sabres? And a bunch of other professional teams in other sports including the NHL lol
It's funny to see people in the comments rag on Rangers fans at the game when I'm almost positive every team they could root for had their stadium audience do something stupid at some point.
Let's see, Pittsburgh, Washington, Vegas, Philly, yeah no the list goes on. Guarantee you replace the Rangers with any other team in this exact scenario and you'd see similar crap.
Was there a penalty?
