I hope more Filipino young people will engage in sports. Nakakabilib si Carlos Yulo not only because he won 2 gold medals and yung disiplina nya , but mas nakakabilib yung self-introspection nya to analyse yung weaknesses, overwhelm and failures nya, yung humility at mental fortitude nya to rise above those failures and knowing na part talaga yun to conquer yung inner battles nya. That’s what sports can do -- na I hope the younger generation can learn more of.

Noon, ang expectation lang ng mga pilipino sa boxing lang tayo may chance na magkaka roon ng gold sa olympics (base sa history ng olympics); pero ngaun, naunahan pa ng weightlifting (last olympics)... tapos at ang nakakamangha na di talaga akalain sa gymnastics pa magkakaroon ng another gold sa olympics, na dominant ng mga westerners, at east asian countries (china, japan, korea),, pero ngaun back-to-back gold pa!

Sobra talaga akong naiiyak. Very true I knew personally yong pinagdaan nya. I had the opportunity to do translation for Caloy in his media interview sa Japanese media company back in March 2020 few months before the Tokyo Olympics. After the interview sinamahan nya ko food court we had a conversation. Cnabi nya yng hirap ng training, Yong lungkot, how lonely he was, yong language barrier. how he is coping. introvert talaga cya and I could just imagine how hard it was for him. Aftet nong Tokyo 2020 result and coming back stronger getting yong pangarap nyang Gold medal for Philippines. Am just so happy and proud for him. Congratulations Caloy！
🥇Yulo's story should be a lesson to every Filipino kid who wishes to excel in sports. Good opportunities were never given to most world class athletes, they have to find it. They didn't stay in their comfort zone. Naglakas loob sila, sumugal at nagsikap marating kung saan man sila. It will never be easy, coz if it is, everybody will do it. All those tears, those sacrifices, will make sense someday. At the end of the day, sarili mo lang ang kalaban mo.
You also have a excellent and supportive coach not coaches that put you down n front of thr team or swear at you. Like most flip coaches

I watched his performance and I knew he will make it because as soon as he steps on the stage you could see in his eyes the winning glow and determination that I didn't see from the other contenders.We live in Germany so we are near the border to France so we could watch it simultaneously with other sports events from the Olympics. Please pray for his next competition as some of the judges are biased to some athletes, today he was lucky not to have Americans or Chinese as his direct rival but an Israeli guy.

Grabe ang malasakit at talent ni Coach Kugimiya. The way he thinks now, that was also given to him by Coach K. Alam ni coach na weak at binibigyan niya ng limit ang mind niya. Not once he mentioned him dito sa documentary. Saddens me.
