  • Today, the Detail Garage crew face a filthy car interior. This Lexus IS300 has one of the dirtiest car interiors ever seen by Chemical Guys. Beneath the layers of trash and old food, all the leather, cloth, and plastic were full of body oils, filth, and grime. With just a few Chemical Guys products, the crew turn back the ravages of time to polish out this diamond in the rough.
    The crew start by wiping down all the plastics with Nonsense All Purpose Cleaner. The invisible cleaner is colorless and odorless, and safe to use on virtually any interior part. The diluted formula easily removes layers of dirt, dust, and body oils from the dashboard and door panels.
    - Nonsense All Purpose Cleaner:

    The leather steering wheel and upholstery all needed some TLC. Thick layers of body oils mixed with dirt created an unsightly hard crust. Chemical Guys Leather Cleaner cut straight through the mess without staining, drying, or damaging the leather hide underneath.
    - Leather Cleaner:
    bit.ly/3J4181V
    Since leather is skin, it needs to be moisturized once in a while. Chemical Guys Leather Conditioner and Leather Serum helped nourish the tired leather hide with vitamin E, Aloe, and other dry-to-the-touch agents to restore a soft, supple feel to the seats and steering wheel. It's safe to use Leather Serum on the steering while and gear selector; just make sure you wipe off any excess for a truly dry to the touch feel.
    - Leather Conditioner:

    - Leather Serum:
    bit.ly/43PlNil
    The carpets were stained with dark layers of dirt, grease, and grime. A few sprays of Lightning Fast Stain Extractor pulled out any filth and grime, and the powerful Carpet Brush With Drill Attachment cut straight through all the filth without harming any carpet strands.
    The final step to any exterior or interior detail is always the glass. Don't bother cleaning glass early on because the overspray from other products will leave the windows streaky and dirty again. Chemical Guys Signature Series Glass Cleaner leaves glass windows, windshields, and sensitive optical plastics on instrument clusters and navigation screens clean with a streak-free finish. Simply erase fingerprints, dirt, and dust from any clear surface or mirror with Signature Series Glass Cleaner.

Listen, I'm dropping off my car for a detail and I'm spending as much time telling you about the random shit I left in my car, what I want removed, and what I want left in there, rather than removing all the useless stuff that's going to be in your way while doing the detail. What time can I can I pick up my whip?
    Detailer: Yeah, get the fuck out.

    I like to remove the seats when I do my cars. Makes it easier to clean the interior parts next to the seats, gives you more mobility. With the seats out you can usually fold them open more and clean the crevices better.
    I've seen some nasty seat belts as well. so Soiled they would no longer retract into the spool.

    This is exactly why I tell customers to remove everything they want to keep. You should not have to sort through their junk to determine what stays. That also prevents the customer from accusing you of stealing something out of their vehicle. Furthermore it takes time to sort junk out of a vehicle and time is money!

    • @furstylist
      @furstylist 7 лет назад +4

      lol I thought that too, but I brought it to a professional detailer who was able to wash the seats with a high powered boiling-hot-water-vacuum appliance that sounded like a carpet-steam-cleaner but for cars. Amazingly, the seats look new again :o

    • @furstylist
      @furstylist 7 лет назад +1

      lol I thought I'd have to, but whatever the detailer did, he fully restored them. They look and smell like new and it's now a month later..still smelling fresh. It might have helped that I dumped like a box of baking soda on it all and scrubbed it good with a hard bristled brush immediately when I got home, so the nasty stuff didn't really have a chance to seep in too deep.

      had given her. Its months later now and I consider myself very fortunate
      to have gotten most of the mess out in time and found a pro who
      restored the seats. ..no stains or odor. Whew!

    My biggest pet-peeve about messy cars is when the owners don't have the decency to at the very least remove all the items they don't want thrown out. I personally would have a "everything left inside gets thrown out" policy that the customer has to sign because the last thing I need is someone accusing me of stealing their garbage.

      I had a student back when I was teaching come to class in a car that had both back seats and the passenger seat piled high with food wrappers, bottles, etc. I saw rats exit the car twice, and saw a snake going in, all through a rusted-out bottom corner of one of the back doors. That, along with his body odor, got so bad we had to require him to clean up before he could park in the lot or enter the building. He was a health hazard on wheels, literally and figuratively.
      I felt bad for him: he'd fallen into depression after losing a close family member he'd been caring for, and just let himself go. We did what we could to let him know we were on his side (rather than on his case) and steered him toward getting some help. He did turn himself around and graduate and get a decent job, but when he was near rock bottom he was a lot to deal with.
      So, y'know, not everyone who is saying that car isn't all that dirty is a slob. Some of us have just Seen Things.

    • @javiermarcial2650
      @javiermarcial2650 2 года назад

I would charge extra because if you as a consumer don't have 5 minutes out of your day before you come to my shop to throw away trash then you are a sad car owner and deserve a higher price for your detail. The time I could have spent cleaning the interior is now used on sorting and throwing away trash.

      +M56 S67 at least can be a bit respectful and take your trash out before they drop it of. They are there to detail the car not be the maid and put your crap in order. So you would be ok if there was used tampons and used condoms all over the place. THINK ABOUT IT

    Great info, but did you guys buy a slider and then try to justify it by having the camera constantly moving? Doing that once in a while is cool, but when he is talking to the camera and cleaning and it's moving back and forth nonstop is too much.

      Hey Jeff, how are you? That would be a sick Christmas gift, you can never have enough Chemical Guys products to maintain the look of your truck. I always look at the buildup on my car, and think about my next detail. My windows are especially dirty, I can't wait to hit it with the Signature Series Wheel Cleaner. Maybe you should send your family and friends a Christmas wish list, drop some hints :). Stay tuned Jeff, more great videos heading your way.

    There's way faster ways to do all this!!! I've been detailing for 30 years and I can bust out an entire interior in 30 minutes. These guys have some really good products though. Their just more expensive than what they're actually worth. I really love their soap and foam cannon...
