In this video we are in Ocean City, Maryland and will be riding Trimpers Haunted House. This iconic dark ride was designed by the legendary Bill Tracy. He always designed Pirates cove and Trimpers, the wacky shack at Waldameer park and others. There's been some small updates and renovations done since I last rode it. I remember riding this with my cousin in the 1970s when we were little kids. When it came out at the end to where our parents were waiting for us, our car looked empty because we were so scared we had ducked under the lid. Hahaha Thanks for the memories!

One of the best dark rides I've seen on RUclips. I like the fact that the ride is long and the scary but still cozy scenes. A classic old time dark ride.
Loved the casket carriage ...that's a different way to travel ..LOL ...Very realistic background sound effects ..well done . Like the idea of going outside a bit and back in again ...adds to the fun . Enjoyed the ride , Glad Liii had so much fun on her 13th birthday : }

Always loved this place! Looks like there have been a few changes from what I remember as a kid back in the 1970s, but overall, it's pretty much the same. I've always loved that little "intermission" when the car goes outside and you can overlook the people on the boardwalk! After this ride was over, it was always off to my next favorite ride right around the block - "Pirates Cove"! If I remember correctly, the cost for this ride back in the 70s was 50 cents!
For a dark ride that is almost 60 years old it's still bad ass👍
I love the riding vehicles. Never seen anything like it. I like how you go outside and I would think that was it. But then you go back in and continue. And that was a pretty long ride. Looks very fun we have blazing fury and use to have flooded mines at Dollywood as a dark ride. It just 45 minutes away from my house. Thank you for the video
@Stephen Pierson I remember the "Flooded Mine" at DollyWood. It was also there when the park first opened as Silver Dollar City. My favorite part of the ride was where the guys feet were sticking out of the water & spinning. I never did know why they took it out & if it ever made it's way to any other park.

WOW!! Here I thought this was going to be another cheesy ride, but instead I was really impressed. This is truly a classic ride, great job filming.

I noticed that the girl being cut in half hardly screams and the person setting in a chair screams bloody murder. I think if I were being cut in half I scream pretty loud. 😊
I'm impressed how they were able to fit quite a lot of visuals and effects into a small ride.

Gonna be honest, the guy hanging from a noose freaked me out as a kid and it’s still a disturbing feature! But this is a staple ride as a Marylander

While this thing is almost as old as I am but it's been updated of course. A pretty decent ride for 6 bucks I think. I go on it for sure! As always thank you for sharing!

I’ve rode that haunted house ride over 100 times but nothing can touch Morbid Manor the 80’s take me back
Now that was a fun ride. I liked that it went slower so you could really see the stuff around you. The train reminded me of the Truck at Knoebels. I think though that Knoebels Haunted house looks to be more fun.

I remember riding this as a kid... had my eyes tightly closed the WHOLE time haha Its definitely one of the better haunted dark rides! Will have to ride it with my son this year!

Nice video! Love Trimper’s! Lots of memories of going with my mom as a kid and getting her to get on with me like 5x haha. I just recorded an updated video for this year and have one from back in 2012 for comparison on my channel. 😊

I was worried when i found out they were updating it recently. I'm glad they stuck with practical effects and didn't go digital with it.

A little fun fact: The “E” in Haunted is the only remaining piece of the original 1964 lettering if you look at it you’ll notice it’s smaller than the other letters.

Love these old haunted house rides,I remember at kings burg NJ they had one and the car stop in the middle of the ride, and every car would bang into mine until the guy operating the ride was wondering why no one was coming out anymore lol. I am 51 now been going there since i was a kid, and something would hit my head like cobwebs as the cart was moving always wondered what that was even tried puling it down lol .Any how they put the lights on after all the whiplash from the carts slamming in to me, i was amazed there was no animation in the middle of the ride everything was on the walls the tracks made it seem like that with the twist and turns its very old ride since the 50's they just keep upgrading it. Oh ya i found out what those cobwebs were lightly hitting the top of my head as the ride went on, what a let down***Fishing line*** hanging from the top of the ceiling just high enough to lightly brush your hair.Figure i would throw my experience in this happen to anyone else. Thanks for the video the memories.

Honestly, I know a lot of people love this ride, (and I still thoroughly enjoy and appreciate it) but for me, all the modern stuff really hurts the experience. Still fun, but it definitely needs some sort of restoration to its former days because right now it seems like it’s stuck between nostalgic and modern. I saw a video from the 90s and thought it was amazing. Awesome video though.
I hear ya, thankfully it still has that old school vibe to it and has one of the best ride vehicles out there.

My favorite Dark Ride 1964 and still the best. The Michael Jackson Thriller bit in the lobby came from me cause the first time I rode i listened to Thriller going through.
