As a parent, this was the scariest thing I’ve experienced with my son, especially that I had no idea what was happening.
What can I do my baby have same problem
I had this growing up from 11-14. It would always flare up in the summer, along with severe sore tonsils. My last severe spring cold was during my senior year in high school. Nothing major since then, yay!
I got croup from the age of 18 months to 16 years, every change of season. Gonna watch out for this in my children
This channel has helped me so much with my EMS class. These videos really help get a better understanding of the different sounds
I’m glad these videos are helping to make you a better clinician!
My nephew just diagnosed of it. He was rushed to the ER. So terrifying to hear it! I feel like crying. :(
Im glad i found this video. it really helps me a lot to identify what is the meaning of the sound that i hear in stetoscope specially now that my son is experiencing a cough and im satisfied from this video because it answers my question and lessen my worries to my son cough.. Thanks a lot and God bless this channel continue to help people by creating more like this... ❤
I get better results through this youtube channel than going to med express when my kids are sick
Wow listening to the respiratory failure stridor made me feel like I couldn't breathe
It was so efficient video , thank you
I had croup from birth to 14 years old and was hospitalized with the worst attacks, injected with something and put in steam tents it must gave been very scary for my parents, these noises brought back a lot of bad memories of not being able to get enough oxygen into my lungs.
It was the same for me, I had to have an inhaler for a week bc it got so bad once. Never got hospitalized but I would wake up randomly not being able to breathe. And the medicine was always so gross
Dealing with a lot of croup cases in ER at night these days. mostly comes between 3am to 6am.
Cough drops helped a lot!
Thank you
Thank you💛💛💛
Helpful upload!
I remember waking up in the middle of the night because I couldn’t breathe with this. My mom used to make me breathe in hot water vapor until my airway opened… good times

Still remembering me getting out of bed at 6 am running everywhere in my apartment and panicking because of a croup attack.
Yeah me too
Feels like you're drowning
Sounds like spasmodic croup.
excellent
I used to get the croup every winter until
I was about 10 or 11 and it was the scariest thing for me ever . I grew out of that and asthma as i got older luckily.
Unfortunately asthma is a life lo chronic condition, the good thing though is you’re not constantly symptomatic and just have flare ups. It can easily come back later in life.

I was trying to catch my breath while making this video. It’s a hard sound to listen to!
Definitely ‼️‼️
Idk if my cough sounds like a bark or it's just because i just have intense cold like everytime i cough ( not all the time maybe) cough comes up and it tends to settle asap it arrives ( the cold)
In short ,this video is sufficient.👍
best chaneel.
I remember having this as a kid. In my country when people cough with croup we call it “dog cough” ahah.
I have a question, since I already had it, is it possible for me as an adult now to contract this?
Pedro, it is very uncommon in people over the age of 6, you most likely will not get this again. Hope this helps and I'm so glad you survived!
@@glindabustamante447 I had it when I was 7
I had croup and have had it since I was two days born

My son had this last week. He caught it from daycare. It was so scary listening to his coughs it sounded like a barking dog. He had to get a steroid shot.
Going through the same thing right now with my kids. They both just started daycare 3 weeks ago & my daughter has been coughing so bad I swear her eyes are going to pop out her head. We just found out today she has a moderate case of this. They put her on steroids also.
@@lacees.9546 I’m happy for you. 🙌🏽 Thank God for doctors.

Such an awful sound. My children have had this, and it's incredibly anxiety-inducing.
Njelodeon
My 5yearold daughter sounded like this last night, was so bad had to call an ambulance and she was put on a nebuliser.
Its the most horrific sound I've ever heard.
A tip from someone who still gets it: when it’s hard for ur kid to breathe take them outside or open the fridge bc cold air rlly helps with breathing. Plus for the throat a popsicle helps soothe it. I rlly hope u won’t have an opportunity to use any of these tips but hopefully it’ll be useful if it does happen! :)
Ngl it kinda sounds horrifying
Candy
Was this recorded with a potato? Sounds like Darth Vader
