- So a few months ago I saw these headlines about the Y/Project Thigh-High Uggs - and I vowed that when they were released I would acquire them and add them to our questionable fashion arsenal. So I finally got these giant ugg mashups and wore them for a week to figure them out and try and style them! What do you think? Would you wear these? Or do you think they are positively UGG-ly?

I think the "full ugg" outfit actually looked the most normal and best together. The colors matched without being matchy-matchy and it looked cozy in the woods and leaves setting. The dog helped, of course. A cute animal always helps. :)

I remember how weird it was when uggs became "fashionable" back then, because in Australia they were just shoes I'd wear at home in winter, or like wear in the backyard... not out anywhere.
in Europe they cost like 200€ so I think it is normal to wear 200€ shoes out and not just at home :D for "normal" people at least
@@yeeeeeeaaaaaahhhhhhh Yeah that's a total rip off. We can get cheap ones from places like Target, I think made with synthetic material, to wear at home. All the big brand name Ugg places (like in Sydney) mostly only sell to tourists in Australia. In my home town a lot of people bought uggs from a local company that employed people with disabilities but when uggs became fashionable big American companies tried to trademark the word "ugg" and ruin small businesses like that. Many businesses were actually ruined (the courts eventually ruled that the word couldn't be trademarked like that). So I always find it frustrating when uggs are sold for ridiculous prices now.
MKH there are cheap synthetic ones sold in America as well they just feel cheap, and synthetic. The ones costing $200 feel like slippers on some kinda of a superpower steroid. Js

@@ska2233 it's funny when you've been used to something your whole life and just kinda taken that comfort for granted. Even when I've had proper good quality uggs they were for at home or at a farm or going out to the shops quickly in winter. It's uh... interesting when they are used in fashion haha. And unfortunate how expensive they are now.
I think the first and third outfits actually looked pretty stylish (considering those poor boots)! I don’t know how Safiya manages to make everything look good!

Dude yes! I think it comes from her drama background. There are so many youtubers I can't watch for more than a few minutes because they slur their words and I have to work hard to listen. Safiya's words just wash over me like a wave of eloquent hilarity.

Its so funny as i NEVER thought of uggs as shoes to wear out. I only ever wore them as slippers around the house or maybe to run down to the shops to get milk & bread. I really didn't think the sole had enough grip for them to be worn for anything more than that. It was only when I visited the US (I'm from Aus) that I saw people wearing them as everyday shoes.

I would never wear these kinds of shoes out anymore either. I used to have a pair when I was 13 or 14 and what also noticed other than that the sole was just way too slippery was that most girls, including me, couldn't walk in them properly. They were just way too soft to hold the foot in the proper position

Don't trim the tag off, use a seam ripper or small scissors to pick the stitching that's holding the tag on - it'll look much cleaner than just cutting it off!
Manicure scissors, or whatever scissors you trim false eyelashes with will work great! Of course, if you've got eyes the size of saucers you probably don't have to trim your false eyelashes.

At the beginning of the video I thought to myself, oh my gosh, those uggs are hideous, expensive, and completely unnecessary. But for some reason, as the video continued, it grew on me, and the cozy, like black and white outfit with the giant uggs looked normal, and somewhat fashionable...
