Just got home from watching this live and my god Mary Earps was and is nothing short of World Class. The team owed her big time! Wembley atmosphere didn't fail either!

Spain are very technical but they havent been that creative. They play quite direct but get by on excellent ball control in tight spaces. When the usa had their best like Lavelle, Heath, Rapinoe, etc they were the most creative passers. But i agree about ryan, she’s the type of player we need in the attack. Can’t wait to see how sort out the front line now with smith, swanson, rodman, ryan, macario (once healthy)

Excellent, very intense game. Considering both teams had some players not on the roster, and evaluating younger players, this was a really well-played game by both teams, especially from the Midfielders and the defenses.

If the schools do not have their own playing fields , the girls teams ( above school age ) have to play on public ( council ) pitches. Most of these are booked by mens teams , and have been for decades. The men use the pitches in the morning and the girls after lunch. When you move up through the divisions , some of the clubs allow the women to ' ground share '. Meaning the women can use those grounds when the men are not using them. But move up further , and a lot of the professional clubs refuse to let the higher level womens teams play at the grounds. There maybe other reasons as well. I dont know everything .

Compared to previous England v U.S games I’ve watched - I thought the display by both teams was poor, lacking finesse and control , basic stuff.

There were no highlights from this game. Poor 1st touches, terrible passing, low quality shots. Embarrassing performance from both teams.
