Thank you so much for this video I have been struggling with filing my nails into the coffin shape or the ballerina shape. I usually just buy the press on nails that are already in the coffin or ballerina shape but I want to learn how to file them on my own. So thank you so much for this video is very helpful
Please do newer videos dedicated to shaping different shapes on different length nails using hardgel or hybrid gel. This one was helpful but your medium was acrylic. Thank you so much for the time you put into recording and managing your channel! I learn so much from your videos 🖤🖤
@@ChelseaSaidTV Acrylic is able to hold shapes that arent aesthetic or properly structured due to the integrity of the material. Using a material with less integrity would show the technique of filing better since you have to be more specific about how you place your file
I know this video is so old. But wow, this really really taught me something. And showed me I was doing the right thing when I thought I was doing it wrong.
I'm having trouble with how narrow a coffin nail should be depending on lengh. Sometimes I try to do coffin but they look tapered square. How narrow should the sidewalls be
Use your eyes and look. She just said that the sidewalls needed to be even and that the free edge needed to be 90° so if you are lining up the nail with your natural sidewall, then that question is already answered.
You are hilarious making your students file with the 180 to learn to sculpt better. Haha I love it! You are right though. If you use a super abrasive file, then you’ll have to go in with a buffer like crazy. Learn to sculpt better then you cut your filing time down. I’ve watched videos where they don’t worry much about the sculpting because they can just file and shape. Makes no sense to me!
So interesting when you said ring middle and pointer nails are the same lengths. Ive never heard anyone say that. But why is the pinkie shorter and not the same ? And why not the thumb short since its so often used?
Johannah, it's the same as proportions on our natural nail beds - pinkie is the shortest finger and shortest nailbed. Thumb is not the longest, but it's the widest and the nail bed is also usually the longest one
I do pinkys a bit shorter bcuz they’re the weakest and likeliest to bend backwards if you wear medium, long or very long nails. I do thumbs a bit shorter too bcuz ppl are on their phones a lot. Definitely makes it hard to make them all the same exact shape but they’re sisters not twins ☺️
That;'s because it was during the webinar which means I spent plenty of time talking, showing, explaining. Plus I can't lean like I usually do as I will block the camera. If I will lean, go back to my comfortable workstation and shut up, it will all go way faster ;)
if you are nailing a fingernail all over its surface you lose the apex, watch yourself better Kirsty Meakin tutorial from the Naio nails channel to learn how to shape the coffin better

I have the same question

Ppl use e files now so who hand files anymore anyways lmaooo that's outdated asf. Unless ppl poor and can't afford a efile

Thanks! Will do
Your hair is great!
Thank you soooooo much for this video!! 😍
Strangely you look like Julia Roberts lol
Davie Singh she really does
"Strangely "??
Where is the lower arch? Why is there barely a c-curve?
A lot of rude comments on here. I found this video extremely helpful. And who cares if she's looking up? She's still talking so why does it matter?
❤
I’ve had to buy coffin tips as I’m awful at shaping 😊😊
Why do you keep looking up?
Kenzy Rose-Leigh Shes looking at the monitor (the footage)
Stupid question but can I shape natural nails into a coffin shape???????
It really pretty but it’s totally crazy dip what’s the tip at the nail
Wonderful Advice Thankyou!!! I appreciate your explanations of the finer details. Regards. Leah @luxnailsbyleah
Thank you, Leah!
What was the nail shape that you started with?
square
Stop looking up!!!
nearly 10 mins each nail.. so total time is over 1 hour
take so long time. using drill machine to make them smoother and quicker

Why are you looking up?
What's on the ceiling? Or do you have a tic?
Rude. She's looking up at the video monitor. I understand wanting to ask, but no need to do it so rudely.
This is stupid. Just cut the sides and cut the tip flat. Done!
Vixinaful 😂😂😂 LMAO you still have to file them after the acrylic is applied....
@@melliethemua7388 Yeah but it goes faster if u cut and then file a bit. :p
Sure, if you like half-assed work.
Lmao girl your dumb ass hell if you want a nice nail you gotta file a lot💀
@@emelycarrasco9017 Not if you cut right.
