    My auto shop teacher was huge on cleanliness. The shop was immaculate and when we did any work at all (even on our own cars) he would take off points from our grades for untidiness and not being organized. I'll never forget that.

    I was told by machinist to use a really high grit steel wool pads on cam bearings and lobes using a really high viscosity oil like drill oil. It worked really well.

    The best rocker assembly trick I know is to grab 2 magnet rails from harbor freight, put a strip of electrical tape down the length of the magnet rails to keep from scratching. Lay the magnet rails down the length of the cam journals in place of the cam if you will...and then lift the rockers upward so that the rollers stick to the magnets. This will hold everything in place without the tedious use of zip ties. I've done dozens of engine reassembly like this and it is the easiest way. Works on the newer Honda engines as well. Obviously you're done with this engine assembly, but maybe this could help you assemble one in the future for a customer or if you ever have to tear down and reassemble yours again one day. Also yes, the Hondabond/silicone sealant on the cam sensor base side is also necessary as someone else stated and I believe you already corrected. Otherwise oil will seep out if that crevice under the cam sensors, you may notice that's also where the corners of the valve cover that require sealant as well.

    • @WhatThaFlip
      @WhatThaFlip 4 года назад +1

      Magnet rails also help during teardown...of course.

I have the stock bottom end so would these cams still make more power than the 2.2? Also can you use the stock k20a2 50deg vtc (I have a k20a2 like you). And if so do i have to limit it in kpro? With compressed air. There is a procedure. It’s just to be sure the pin doesn’t get damaged when being tightened or removed. You would hate to start the motor and hear a noisy rattle for a couple seconds.
