Stray is a third-person adventure game. The player controls a stray cat, who traverses by leaping across platforms and climbing up obstacles and can open new paths by interacting with the environment, such as climbing in buckets, overturning paint cans, operating a vending machine, and clawing at objects. They solve puzzles to progress the narrative, often involving moving obstacles. Optional activities include sleeping, meowing, and nuzzling up to non-player characters, most of which often elicit a response. Some levels have open-world elements, allowing the player to roam in their freedom.

Zoologist REACTS to Stray
This game takes place in the far future. It's possible the cat species have slowly but surely increased in intelligence by that time.
Least realistic part of the game is that the cat keeps their tail low all the time, so that the camera isn't pointed directly up their ass. Real cats love showing their ass.
Hahahaha

Gameology never fails in finding experts for games you wouldn't even think about having an expert for. Keep up the good work.

Ok bot comment don't pull that also I believe a few are actually frauds this guy has said some fraudulent stuff so either a phony or didn't work very hard to get their career

Mate, I wouldn't survive it either.
Missed the end where the cat long blinks, i wanted to see him comment on that behaviour
Finally someone reacted to Stray on Gamology ❤️
What about a cook reacting to either food depiction in video games (like FF15 & Monster Hunter World's meals) or food-related video games like Overcook?
that actually doesn't sound like a bad idea!

We need Gordon Ramsey
"I want people to know you're mine" yes. Yes that definitely makes sense to me.
Name checks out
5:15 technically they couldnt really do the hair standing up because there are just 8 layers of slightly "transparent" things with decals to make it look like theres fur, because if they wanted to do actual fur, they would have to painstakingly place each singular hair and animate each single one
It is up to the PLAYER to have the cat knock all the cans and things over.
And- wait-
NO commentary on the backpack flop-and-crawl??
Love to see this guy react to Planet Zoo, I’m sure he will love it

7:03 not the dispatcher being sad there was no crime 🤣🤣🤣🤣
"The least realistic part is the cat not knocking all of those down." That's because you're watching gameplay from someone who just wants to blast through the game without doing every cat thing ever.
This was fascinating. Great job!
Gameolgy - next video we get a serial killer to review manhunt !
all the footage would be blurred though.
The start upset me so much, with the mewls of fear and worry. And I had anxiety the cat would die in the end.
I cry every time when i restart the game
they actually mocapped a real cat for this game
Actually they didn't lol. They just studied cat movement and made the animations from what their cats did.
@@jpvaz2280 well i know they used a real cat for something in the game i assumed it was mocap
@@jeremymerry7967 they used one cat for the movements and another for the look of the protagonist from what i remember
@@jpvaz2280 ah nice thats pretty cool
Another causal Gamology W.
I mean, depending on the theory you subscribe to, it's like 6 million years after human extinction. It's actually kinda strange that those cats still look like cats, but maybe their brains evolved in that time and that's the reason the cat is so smart. ;)
Okay, I will take the first thing back, it's actually not strange that the cats didn't change their appearance at all, cat bodies are already perfectly adapted to every environment ever, so there was simply no need to develop any changes except the brain thing. ;)
I was lucky enough to have a set of marvelous ginger boys...they were the best. The lesser dominant of the two, Jack, used to lay on the living room rug and let my Aussie pull out tufts of his fur! One day she tried to do it to Flap....NO WAY he was NOT having any of it! I miss my boys❤🐾🐱
The only thing that’s incorrect is that the cat isn’t napping for an hour
one thing in the game if u let the cat nap for a long time, i think about an hour in real time, you'll get an achievement
@@cherry-nw1sl oh cool
There are areas in the game you can have the cat sleep at, so cannonly it does sleep throughout the adventure.
The video I didn’t know I needed
William really looks like that main guy in Mr.Robot series 🤯
I just started playing this game today. It’s pretty good.
Far Cry has plenty of animals. Let's see how accurate is the environment where they live.
Ex cat reacts to STRAY
Can we have videogames director, animators, or whatever a person is in videogames company that specialized in the making of cutscenes to react to Asura's Wrath?
My fav game getting reacted!
Upcoming Video : Real Greek and Norse God React to God of War Ragnarok
Fact about the game they used real cats to animate the cats so most of the things are made realistic.
This was awesome and cute
William be like:
You're a dog person because dog easy to show affection,
I'm a dog person because it's a hassle to achieve the affection of the cat,
We are not the same.
Man, Gameology has an expert for everything.
I will have this game for sure becz I love cats so much ❣️💕💞💘💝💗💖❤️💓😍😘🥰
Some things are wrong. For example, despite all the streamers babbling about "big stretch", the cat only ever does a half stretch. The tail is raised high at inappropriate times. Turn in place is poorly animated. Other than those quibbles, the devs did a very nice job. The catnip plants are a nice bonus.
the player can actually make the cat knock stuff off the ledges!!!
Very good video.
next week - PLUMBERS REACT
A Video only Cat Lovers will Enjoy ☺️
The game takes place far enough in the future for bacteria to evolve multicellularity. In that time, it is completely plausible for cats to evolve greater puzzle solving intelligence. I actually find it more unrealistic that cats still exist in such a recognizable form after that amount of time
Hello William
The only thing that seems weird to me is that the cat's tail is always down.
Make sense why it's mostly realistic because they did use a real cat and the motion tracking for this game
It’s not cats reacting to stray, but it’s still pretty great. Thanks for listening gameology 💪🏼
Puusy cat game! 😮
Please do Planet Zoo!
Wonder where gamology finds these experts
Wanted....cat person...must have affinity with video games....
@@VuDuBu dead or alive… wait, alive
If it does roar, it’s not a big cat. Cheetahs are not the only ones. Mountain lions also don’t roar. Neither do snow leopards
Hm, interesting.
I mean, theres at least a few hundread years between modern time and Stray so cats getting smarter could happen
I think it would take more than a few hundred years for them to evolve tool use, especially since there's currently no selective pressure for them to do so. They survive and reproduce just fine without it, a little too well in some places.
@@JustinBA007 Its a postapocaliptic urban area, i think that tool use would be ratter handy
@@Pizza_Requiem cats already do extremely well in urban environments regardless. They are great at traversing them, and even better at hunting small mammals that you commonly find in urban environments. As long as there's still birds or mice to kill, cats should have no need for complex problem solving skills.
Perhaps if there wasn't much prey and they had to scavenge food left behind by humans like raccoons, but considering that their diet requires raw meat, which would spoil very quickly after humans went extinct, they probably would not last long if that were the case. They would basically last as long as there is catfood on store shelves.
@@JustinBA007 I mean, there is a message in the game from one of the robots that states "We were programmed to be slaves, but since 2544875556 days we have a soul" and that would be nearly 7 million years. Which would be... strange, because a lot of stuff shouldn't be around anymore like certain cartboxes with "Made in China" on it and a lot of other stuff. And cats would've changed quite a bit in appearance, I guess... or maybe cats are just already perfect, so the only thing that changed in that time was their brain. Yes, that sounds absolutely plausible.
React to animal attacks in games
🤣🤣🤣
I'd not survive
Cats react to Stray. XD
Hy
Sorry but cats are almost more social than dogs if not the same lol
i mean yeah, a dog wouldn't survive this. cats are just more stretchy and light
Second
I lost interest the moment this guy got on his "soapbox". This game has nothing to do with that. This has to do with cats in the future post-humanity. 🙄
Unsubbed
I don’t know why but cats and me never in a good term with each other,
Personality maybe?
Cats are affectionate, but it has to be done in their terms, and sometimes they just want to be left alone.
They will give signs, warning you to stop, but most people didn't understand their body language and get scratched.
Dogs are more efusive, and never reject attention.
They are more needy than cats, because they are pack animals, and will be stick by your side as long as they can.
That doesn't mean that cats are mean, just diffent.
