Poll-Parrot, Poll-Parrot, are the shoes you want to buy! I am 64 years old and this video reminds me of living on that gravel road, black and white tv, out house 50 feet from the back door, shaking a quart jar of cream to make butter and wanting a pair of those shoes.
We played a lot of monopoly, 500 rummy, dominoes, and such back then. I remember making home made ice cream a lot with the old hand crank machine. My father must have liked it because of how often we would make it. In a loft in my shed I have the electric motor kind and my sons, grandchildren and friends ask me to make it pretty often. I teach all of them how to do it in hopes they will start making it and having me over. Ha. Every time that I plug it in I think how nice it is not to have to crank it! Have a good life.
About that Mr. Clean ad at 13:12 - How in the hell did they get lipstick marks on the friggin' door? My guess is there was probably a lot of Wiedemann's beer involved...
Thanks to Mr. Cadden: was he from the Newport-Cincinnati area? I'm from Louisville, only 98 miles away....we put away a bunch of Weidemann's down here, too! All the TV stations in both markets wore these beer spots out when I was a kid. My dad, granddadds and uncles drank Weidemann's, Falls City Beer from here, and Sterling Beer from Evansville. Oh, those card games and bowling trips....LOL!
Girls! if your man says he's going down to the club house to play a round, he's actually playing around, the club house locker room, lots of married guys on the downlow can't get it from wifey but a buddy will help you out.......
Mr. Clean is a cleaning solution & I assure you it's not used to bathe infants in, just for laundering their cloth diapers. Washing the dog in Mr. Clean, however...😥
RIP, Dick Beals, the original voice of Speedy Alka-Seltzer.
"Available in Limited Areas." Must have been one of the very first Mr. Clean commercials ever aired!
I still use Alka Seltzer!
That Speedy (Alka-Seltzer) sure is a multi-talented little bugger. 🎶

x2malandy Thank you for sharing your memories! I wish I could've seen what life was like in the 50s & 60s! 😊

The singer in the first two Weidermann's Beer commercials sounded like Tennessee Ernie Ford.
Never heard of that beer ever and I've been around since 58.
The man has three arms. That makes it VERY easy to enjoy a Wiedemann's Fine sittin' in the sun. And he's no hipster; look Ma, no beard!

That's the voice of Tony the tiger in the beer commercial.
Really? It sounded like Tennessee Ernie Ford to me.
That's Thurl Ravenscroft singing in the Wiedemann's beer spot.
Never heard of Wiederman Beer .... I come "from the land of sky blue waters" and Hamm's Beer
I find this comforting some how
You find beer ads comforting? 😕
Can’t sleep?, nervous, anxious? Then take toxic chemicals.
Cleaning a dog with Mr. Clean? Perhaps after a six pack of Weiderman's (For the "Beer Hungry" and brain dead).
If I remember correctly, Poll Parrot and Buster Brown shoes and Keds and PF Flyer sneakers were for the rich kids. Our stuff came from Woolworths.
Use Fluffo...not even a nuclear blast can destroy it!

And most of these things are still being used today
Deep fried dog with FLUFFO. Perfectly fresh
We could use a Mr. Clean to clean up our corrupt government.
That's Thurl Ravenscroft singing about Weiderman's beer, it's great!
You bet! It's grrrreat!
3:20- That's Robert Colbert, isn't it?
Yep, that's him.

Ugh, using dishwashing soap to clean a dog and babies?

If it's Dawn, it's practically safe. 🧽
