Ethan Macdonald --- I work with Mr Clean, really we have a bald guy who works in the dish room and we call him Mr Clean, he's the best worker in the company!!!🤗🤗🤗
13:08 is a rare example of a 1960 spot produced by a Warner Bros. commercial unit; until 1955, the studio shunned television; by 1960, they were not only producing several of the most popular TV shows on the air {"CHEYENNE", "MAVERICK", "SUGARFOOT", "BRONCO", "77 SUNSET STRIP", "HAWAIIAN EYE", et. al.}, they also had a unit devoted to filming commercials, too!
8:17- this 1960 "Satur-Daddy" ad (produced by the Warner Bros. Commercial Films unit) was intended to be seen in Canada only; note the bottle's label is different from the one offered in the U.S.
4:18/10:34- these 1965 ads feature Gerald Mohr's sinister voice; towards the end of his life, Mohr, a veteran "tough guy" of movies and TV (he also played Philip Marlowe on radio in the late '40s, and was the voice of "Reed Richards" in the 1967 animated version of "THE FANTASTIC FOUR"), did a lot of narration in commercials and various ABC network promos as well.
This commercial featured "test animation", as a rough example of the individual drawings to be used in the finished commercial (note the instructions penciled in next to the "bald guy" at 14:46 and other areas, as a guide for the "inkers" to fill in the animation, to make it look "complete").
I wish they still would make commercials like this, the 50s and 60s were such a wonderful time
Thanks for including the leader tape between each spot. Authentic and good behind-the-scenes info. And no bad edits!
Better than today's commercials
I seem to have noticed a theme in these commercials.

You'd have to rinse SO many times to get out the suds if you added Mr. Clean to the wash.
Your only supposed to ad a little bit to water lmao
14:22 Could someone finish this rehearsal version?
The 1965 spots featured the mean Mr. Clean campaign, v'o'ed by veteran actor Gerald Mohr.
Past or present, I don't buy that Mr clean could ever be used to wash your pets

It was safe back then but after the change they removed it from advertising

Merci pour se renseignement.
What's the background on the animatic starting at 14:26? Fascinating to see that technique ... was it a concept that didn't get produced?

Mr. Clean with ammonia turned into Top Job, which became defunct years ago due to poor sales.
Was the Mr. Clean with Ammonia commercial a test run of Top Job?

Live Mr.Clean ads feature. actor House Peters Jr. as Mr.Clean.
How is ammonia good?
Kathy Niebylski it’s like asbestos, back in the day they thought it was all good! ( like asbestos we discovered side affects and stopped using it )
@@LunaIsOnRUclips Technically we've stopped, but you'd be surprised to find out how many known carcinogens are still legal.
You’re saying ammonia is a carcinogen?
Ammonia works and doesnt stay in nature long term because it easily broken down to harmless common stuff
Yay mr clean 🧼
