Vicks on the feet at night absolutely works to calm a cough, I’ve tried it many times. 😊

Vicks has always worked since I've been I was young, I swear by the stuff. Helps my kids really well with the snivels. On the feet and dab some under the nose. Works great on congestion. The best way we've found to clear congestion in the nasal passages in the UK, is to fill a bowl with hot water and a teaspoon of Vicks mixed in the water. Then put a towl over your head covering your head and the bowl and deeply inhale the vapour that rises in the steam - it works twice as fast.
I use Vicks on my chest when my asthma acts up, it helps!

There is a product called "AYR, "on the shelf at the drug store,It is a saline solution (salt water) in a nasal spray,The salt water cuts the mucus,That helps clear my nasal passages too, Without smelling like Vicks 😂,A friend uses it and recommended it to me,I really like it, When you spray it into your nostrils, Don't breathe in,Not wise😂, Blessings always ❤️
@@jamietanksley3113 Thank you. I had tried the Neti pots doing this but it all got a bit messy. I'll have to give that a try at some point. I have nasal deviation so regularly get quite blocked on one side.
Vicks has been used in my life for over 65 years. My mother always used it on us when we were growing up. Depending on our symptoms, at times she would rub it on our chest, under our feet and even a bit in our noses. I always have it at my house. Everytime I smell It, it reminds me of my Mom.❤

I did this last year and now my feet looks like they used too. I put Vicks all over my toes and feet at night.
Then I’d put socks on for the night. Really works! It helps soften your feet and keep your toenails great and vibrant.
It also gets rid of toe fungus.
How long did you use it for toe fungus before fungus went away?
Castor oil on the feet works all sorts of wonders, too!

Oh my goodness, I love Vicks Vaporub. My grandma used to use this on me when I was a kid with a headcold. She always used that on me, and made me potato soup with chopped up garlic to eat for lunch and dinner. While I was home sick from school she would also make me eat oranges. As a kid, my family ate a lot of garlic in our meals and with the oranges during the day for healthy snacks, I was hardly ever sick. I am 50 years old and I still prefer eating healthy and not having too many colds, the old fashioned natural remedies are so much better for us. Thank you for this great information and bringing back memories of my beloved grandma. God bless you for this great information!
This is an old remedy! It works! My sons hated it but the next day they were so much better! My grandma did it to me. Where I learned it! I miss her so much!

I haven't seen creomulsion in decades but that always worked for me as a child. Vicks is a wonderful product. I use when I'm not sick bc it always makes me sleep soundly and moisturizes my feet.

Incredible info. Thank you so much. I will do this even when I don't have a cough. I eat 2 - 5 cloves (size varies and strength varies) per day of RAW GARLIC so I rarely get a cough. I chew it first thing in the day with lots of water. I sniff raw garlic too if congested. The spice called cloves is great to chew on after the garlic and releases the clove scent. I love the smell of Vicks.

Amen. Everything we have comes from Him, including the plants that our healing oils and medicines come from. Who remembers as a kid running into a patch of stinging nettles and quickly grabbing a handful of dock leaves that ALWAYS grew by the nettle patch, to rub vigorously over your stung legs? Oh the relief when the itching miraculously stopped. How gracious of God to make the dock leaves grow by the nettles, which, by the way, have their own powerful medicinal properties.

Applied it to feet too. Will try it for my back pain. My mother did it and I did with my children, grandchildren and told my Grandchildren to use it on my Great Grandchildren.
Yall will not believe this but I'm going to say this anyway. My mom saved my life as a kid in the early 60's. The Asthma would close up my lungs to the point where I thought I was gonna die. My would put vapor Vic's rub on my chest and she would make me swallow it as she put it on her finger. I don't have Asthma anymore. I'm serious then she would make me get up under the cover and I couldn't come out period it took the Asthma outta me. Please believe me. I have not suffered from it since then
My mom, who is in a nursing home with dementia, developed toenail fungus. Since I'm not there every day to tend to her and put medication on her feel, I put Vicks Vaporub on her toes and covered them with socks--only once a week. Has helped quite a bit. Even the caretakers agree with this remedy. Amazing.

When i was little my mam used to put some under my nose and then she would put a bit on my tongue to swallow. Im 80 now so it didn't do me any harm. Im from co durham, northeast england.

The Eastern alternative is Tiger Balm. It has some of the same oils but some of the oils are different. In fact, there are different varieties for different purposes, where the percentages of active ingredients may differ.

We were given a fingertip into the mouth of this stuff as well.
You are the only other one I know of that had a fingertip of this put in the mouth. My husband’s grandmother swore to this as well even though on the jar I remember ready not to take orally. My mother would put it on our upper chest and under our nose when I was a child. I am 69 and can smell it now just thinking about it, lol
My mother also gave us a fingertip in the mouth also, and we didn't know any better back then. It seemed to help, at least we didn't have any side effects from swallowing it, however I would never take any by mouth now that I'm an adult! Yuk!
My medulla oblongata was working in overdrive after seeing this and layering Vicks Vaporub over my heels.

You need to see a doctor. Sounds like diabetes to me and you are likely in big trouble. Ask for an A1C test every three months and a glucose tolerance test first thing. You worry me. God bless and all the best. Vic’s is ok and useful but not for ulcerated legs. I know all about it.
I’ve just gotten over the flu and forgot to use Vicks on my chest but I did use it under my nose to help with clearing my sinuses. I also recently bought a couple of Vicks succulent plants which are supposed to also be medicinal.

Vicks on the bottom of the feet, with socks on, and Vicks on a cloth, pinned around the neck, and Vicks rubbed on the chest under a cotton T-shirt all before bed will significantly reduce the time a person is sick and it calms coughs and soothes the muscles in and around the chest and abdominal areas. Garlic in your socks works to help kill a cold. Feet are very effective absorbers of whatever you put on them that next morning your breath will smell of garlic.

I've been doing this for years. Just put some on my chest, very little on my back. Also, on the bottom of my feet (socks on). This here helps me get a good night's rest. Try it!

My Maa used vapour rub when me and siblings were in pain, aches, or when we had a cold /flu. Miss my Maa and her herbal medicines. Chicken pox, burn while cooking, gas problem, arthritis, fever, coughs, kids worms etc she always had a cure, and it works. Oh, I miss my Maa

I use Vicks everyday on my feet, back, etc. I'm never out of it. I also breath it in. My Parents got me started, because I have bronchitis and asthma. Works better than inhaler.

When I was a child, mom would make us eat a heaping tsp of vicks .. then she would wipe some under our nose ( where it was already raw from wiping snot) ..then put some on our chest.

Do you know, it cures trench foot overnight? Yes. Before going to bed Wash the feet clean and dry them and smear a generous amount over the sores covering them well and that's it. Morning they'll be gone. It works for me and I hope it works for you too.
