LYRICS
Have you beheld how our ending befell?
We are the catalyst
Engineered hell
The depths we've sunken to
The violent things we do
A cleansing tide would eradicate all of you
How did you think when in apathy's drink
That doing nothing would spare you from the brink?
You're equally at fault
Now broken by the assault
The righteous, the victims,
The villainous ones and all
I know what you're hiding from
I know what you're hiding from
The waves keep crashing over
They pummel me, over and over
I don't think I can ever brave this storm
Should we go quietly?
Accept that all is lost?
I don't think I can ever brave this storm
Wash us away in the tides of decay
Extinction soon will claim us all as his prey
We're pulled into the sea
The tempest has been set free
I'm wide awake when the lightning comes beckoning
Burn us alive for our sins and our crimes
We are the wretched ones
Malevolent slime
Existing to consume
Everything we once knew
Take us, break us
Submerge us inside our tomb
This quest is impossible
Brave this storm
I'm feeling my insides pull
Brave this storm
I'm being devoured whole
Brave this storm
My soul is poured in the world
Brave this Видеоклипы
Love it or hate it, Metal albums have the best covers.
Argumemnon actually, this is one of my least favorite trivium album cover. My least favorite was probably ember to inferno. I really liked the others though
Argumemnon not this one tho
Cannibal corpse has the best covers.
The American Patriot say sike
Avenged Sevenfold have some pretty awesome album covers too though
As a guy who has listened to nearly every Disturbed song ever at least 20 times each, I can say that this definitely doesn't sound like Disturbed
same here
Disturbed sounds the same in every song lol
It definitely doesn't sound.
just one song of this album its literally a disturbed song but just that.
It doesn't sound like disturbed. The only thing that *reminds* one of Disturbed is how Matt sings.
You can say David put his mark on this album, but after watching the documentary I get how he actually helped Matt raise the bar on his own vocals. Be proud of him!
matt had his own sound man. he still does but it is not the same.
HazE TriviumT
trust me ... most of those guys with an 'own sound' are usually just ruining their voices. A good example is James Hetfield from Metallica. People think he had a better voice in the 80's but I've seen a few shows from back then (on youtube) and he's currently a MUCH better singer but if he didn't ruin his voice he would have more 'power' now. So be happy for Matt because this way he's going to be capable of doing what he does for a much longer time.
M.shadows and Danny worsnop, although they both ended up with really good hard rock voices o.O
He couldn't have been doing damage on shogun, the harsh vocals weren't that harsh
Blo0dredRidingHo0d yeah m shadows can't scream like he could hence city of evil was made
@@Blo0dredRidingHo0d Not really, but they can be straining. Scylla and Charybdis can destroy you if you don't have good breathing control.
Epic song and i like the album, don't know why people bash it.
+Kilian | Feed the flames They never want change
This is the song that introduced me to trivium and I love it
same here man
MUCH better than silence in the snow
Agreed, and epic username!
definitely an unpopular opinion but this is one of my favourite trivium albums, love the production
The best Trivium album is every Trivium album. Probably the best band out there in my opinion. The talent on display is purely insurmountable.
Its my second fav, i love Silence in the Snow
The riffs these guys come up with are just... perfect.
Simple can be perfect to people I suppose.
TheSystemWon doesn't need to be complicated to sound good.....
I saw an interview with Matt from Trivium not too far back, building up to this album releasing, I think. And he said the way the fans are, they're almost impossible to please. He pretty much said no one liked The Crusade when it came out, but when Shogun was out, everyone loved The Crusade and turned their hate towards Shogun. Then came In Waves, and suddenly fans wanted more Shogun. Now Vengeance Falls is out and everyone warming up to In Waves. People don't like change, when change comes it can take time to adapt to it. Maybe if Trivium get another album, this one will get a boost. Personally I enjoy it. A big element of David Draiman in it, is that a bad thing? Is there too much influence? I don't think so, and that's only my opinion.
completely dead on, so much hate towards bands this year with their new albums... just wish people would let them make their music and enjoy it if they like it... bands dont sell out.. and if they think they do what proffesionalism to people think their favourite bands have then, people dont seem to trust the musicians they listern to.. dont know what went wrong with people. Either way thanks for posting that up though intresting to hear what a band thinks about it all.
The only trivium album I disliked was crusade barring the odd song or two. I really couldn't get into "vengeance" initially but didn't really give it a chance (my fault), I've given it a good listen to a few times and absolutely love it (particularly this track)! I don't get the flack Draiman is copping here, I love disturbed and Trivium, they both kick ass!
mmm... truly i never liked In Waves, Shogun is still my favourite album, and it was when it has released too
Zaeed389 if there's at least one song from in waves I LOVE it's caustic are the ties that bind. but i feel the same about the album. haven't heard vengance yet but I own every other trivium album. \m/
I think that's with every band pretty much.
continuing to enjoy what Trivium does..
I see comments saying draiman ruined this album, those are just opinions that perpetuate the notion that bands shouldn't be progressing in sound. I love this album, it's powerful. Every piece of it. And I love the fact that every trivium album sounds different, they are very talented musicians as you can tell in their progression
Seriously people??? I love Disturbed and Trivium, and they sound nothing alike.
this is so badass. there should be more bands like this
There are tbh.
Ronnie Swoleman give me one example please, so I can enjoy more metal bands lol
Andrew Beaudin Depends what you like about it. Are you looking for melodic thrash, thrash in general, just melodic hard rock or what?
I'll help if I can :)
Ronnie Swoleman anything like trivium, disturbed, metallica, avenged sevenfold, black veil brides, megadeth, iron maiden, dio, ozzy osbourne, and devour the day
Lol, there's loads of styles there. Ok, it seems like you've heard of a few of my first recommendations.
Ok, how about Breaking Benjamin, 36 Crazyfists, Killswitch Engage, Sevendust, Godsmack, Lifer, Periphery, Tessarec, 12 Stones, Shinedown, Devildriver?
One of the most epic openers of all time! Very underrated song/album!
I've never made the step to buy their CD until I heard this song. Definitely recommend the song and the CD.
this was the first trivium song I was introduced to. after that I listened to shogun and I like that album and this one. so far i'm liking trivium
I think all the albums are great! I'd definitely give all of them a chance. Personally, my favorite is Ascendency, but that's the album that got me hooked on metal, so I'm biased haha.
Am I the only one who doesn't hear disturbed? ..
No Soup For You No, you aren't. This sounds nothing like Disturbed. Anybody who thinks it does is just lying to themselves, they think that because David produced the album it sounds like Disturbed. If they actually listened to the album and not the foolish voices in their heads they would realize that the two share very little.
bob silliger thank you!
I hear it sometimes when he finishes sentences, he sounds a bit like the guy from disturbed. Don't hate it, just an observation
Only song where I hear the Disturbed vibe is Villainy Thrives. This sounds nothing like Disturbed.
+No Soup For You Yes because this song totally sounds like Disturbed I mean listen to the vocalist *Sarcasm*. Too all the people who say otherwise can go fuck themselves because they are prolly just specifically loyal to one band while rest of us like varied music Taste :)
All of ya'll complaining about David's influence on this song, and I'm just sitting here, headbanging. :)
I find this album is absolutely amazing! If I had to choose between listening to it every day for a year or listening to silence in the snow once more, I would choose this for a year.
This was the first Trivium track I ever hewrd and it still remains one of my absolute favorites
That's pretty good. i used to like them, then i disliked them, now i think i like them again haha.
Trivium and Disturbed are both good bands. Scroll back up
You are right good sir. :)
yeah I definitely agree
Of Course man
I have to disagree, disturbed is one of the worst metal bands around. Absolutely horrible anti metal is what it is.
Trivium and disturbed don't belong in the same sentence
I reallyyyy don't like disturbed as a band, won't bag on someone for liking them though, I like David as a vocalist though, he has a really good clean voice.
To be fair, unlike a lot of music these days, this album has been mixed and mastered incredibly.
I'm just getting into Trivium, gotta say, I am very impressed with this entire album. Any recommendations for other albums by them I should check out next?
Ascendancy and In Waves are Triviums best albums :)
Shogun, that whole album was also handed down from the metal gods. Also check out Ember To Inferno, this was there first album.
Shogun is the best album they have ever done and will ever be \m/
The Crusade is great *****
Awesome trash riffs and solos and bass is probably one of the best albums in the world in terms of bass. Trust me give it another try
I like putting all the albums into one playlist on shuffle. 5+ hours of awesome.
Definitely some of Trivium's best work XD David Draiman did an amazing job producing this album and coaching Matt's vocals :) what a guy, also the band did a great job bringing this album to the true fans of Trivium :D love this band
And Trivium continues to not disappoint me. They change their style every album, and always put out some insane material. I love it.
You know... there was always something off about Disturbed that I could never put my finger on... just the same, there was always something off about Trivium that I could never put my finger on... too much of one thing, or not enough of something else... Fascinatingly, this album, being Trivium with Draimen's influence, has put the two puzzle pieces together into a perfect picture... it's JUST Right, musically, vocally, lyrically...
that snare sound, don't why I just love it
Don't care what anyone says one of my favorite albums🤘💀🔥
Love the drop downs and the solos on this album
i love this song and album. GO TRIVIUM
55 people thought they were listening to Disturbed. Why everyone thinks this sounds like Disturbed is funny...this sounds nothing like Disturbed
+Mr Speed i do hear some influence from Draiman when i listen to this album.
i don't understand why this is classed as a bad thing though as (in my opinion) everything Draiman has done has only made Trivium even better.
Im not saying its a bad thing but its funny how many people think this is disturbed
Come on, you have to at least admit that a few of the riffs sound a little.. Disturbed. Particularly the distorted twang in the riffs during the main verses at 0:36 and 1:48. The "I know what you're hiding from" bridge to the chorus also sounds a little like them too
Darth
nah i wont lie that
I didn't even know Draiman produced this album, and first time I heard this song I was like "why the shit does this sound like Disturbed?" I'm a Disturbed fan, but if I want Disturbed I'll listen to Disturbed. The formula, the riffs, even the solo, and its length, and the pieces before and after it... totally Disturbed's sound.
"But this sounds like disturbed!! It's not trivium anymore, it's distrivium!!" blah, blah, blah, seriously, shut up and enjoy music.
ikr...
Anyone who says this sounds like disturbed needs their fucking ears checked
What if they don't like particularly this kind of music, have read that Draiman produced this album and make the wrong conclusions?
your comparing it to disturbed? are you deft..
*DisTrivium*
that's a good one lmfao 😂
i just got this album special for my birthday. i think it's their best album since shogun! :D
in my opinion in waves was a bit too bland, it lacked that awesome trivium feel you get on their other albums, also i feel that they tried way too hard to make it sound like ascendancy and ember, this album however, actually felt a lot closer to the early trivium without trying. draiman only really had an influence on the first three tracks. but thanks for sharing your opinion with me, though :)
This is actually good
Awesome album. Needs to be played loud though to do it any kind of justice. Playing it quietly just will not cut it.
I hear people say this sounds like Disturbed. If anything (and this is my opinion) it sounds more like a collision between Metallica and Slipknot.
Well said
please dont insult trivium by comparing them to metallica. metallica hasnt had a good album since 1991 and trivium has never had a bad album
Personally. I don't care how Trivium change (unless it's to pop somehow).😂as long its good music. I love their entire discography so far
still kicks ass in 2024
I just saw this in concert! Holy fuck it was the shit
Were you at the Carolina Rebellion?
Jeffrey Lebowski No, I was at the Sand Casino in Pennsylvania.
Everybody is like "her her her, am I the only one who is hearing Disturbed in this?" while I'm here like, "In Waves?"
Obviously none of you have heard Disturbed, Trivium sounds NOTHING like them. Like, at all.
Name one song from this album that sounds REMOTELY like... any... Disturbed song. (smh) Go back to smoking your bong.
If anything there’s more resemblance to dragon force than disturbed and even then it’s a stretch
I love all his albums
The greatest album of trivium..like if you agree
And fuck what other people think
I started to listen Trivium by the time they released Until the World Goes Cold because of a friend, some time later i enjoyed almost every song they did, at that time i started to search more of their music.
When i found this song at the first times i listened to it i didn't enjoyed that much, but when i've gone have through a lot of shit in my personal life, listening this song gave me goosebumps every time i was enjoying it by myself and i've never told this to anyone, after going through all that shit i still enjoy this song even when i can't identify myself with the lyrics because in that moment for me it was a masterpiece and even now, it is one of the best song metal songs i've ever heard because the feelings u put in the song meens more that the hard work u had to put to make it, from the listeners point of view, so even all the blame and shit u guys have to be going to or u have to suffer, just keep going, as this song helped me to learn, eventually ur effort will by paid even when at first u don't think is paid as it should be. (Ik this isn't the original song meaning, but it helped me that way, so as all others songs can do, u just have to enjoy it in a way that it helps u even when that means that u scape from ur daily life).
Have a good day from almost 10 years more since this song came out on here.
Love this band my favorite album by them
This gived me energy
Gave
i loved this album when it came out, i really wish they'd play more of this era
Just heard this love in Grans Rapids last night!! \,,/ AMAZING.
me too...first time and I love it...
I MAY HAVE TO GET THIS ALBUM ON PRINCIPLE BECAUSE DAVID DRAIMAN.
WOW I haven't listened to Trivium much but I kinda like the sound of this track.
DAVID DRAIMAN OOO-WA-A-A-A
All the people in the right wing!

O___o
NIEN!!!
BLASPHEMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
coughdropper HOW DARE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Easily the most badass album cover ever.
lol wtf! haha
I have been a huge fan of Trivium since the beginning man...... I'm just now finding out that they have a new album. Not sure what I think so far... but I know it'll grow on me.
awesome album cover art
It's a great song for some movie/videogame epic last fight rating R battle scene
awesome sound i really love it congratulations guys good job!
I think David did a very good job with this album! FREAKING AWESOME!!!!!
This song kicks ass
Sounds better than disturbed. More emotions evoked, better metal, better pausing.
great i feel i am sooooo strong when i hear this
This song is Awesome
First time I hear this band and I like it
The Album that introduced me to Trivium
This song is great
Muito bom!!!
I saw these guys a couple of years ago touring with Dream Theater. They put on a hell of a show and were able to really connect with the audience. I had never heard of them before that, but was pretty impressed and starting dig into their catalog. In my observation, there are very few bands who are able to do what these guys do and connect to the music and their audience on multiple layers, but these guys do (and so does DT). This album is awesome, and I hope they're around a long while.
Great song!
I'm new. Already love it.
one of the best heavy metal bands in the last 15 years.
+ALEX WADE I heavily cringed reading the whole "not heavy metal, whitechapel is heavy metal" bit
Whitechapel is deathcore, Trivium is heavy metal / metalcore
Heavy Metal is such a diverse term, I am 45 & started my " heavy metal" journey in 1980 with acdc, motorhead, maiden. Then that turned to Metallica,Meagdeth,Slayer. Then Machine head, Lamb of God & Trivium.. Plus all that's in between. Its all metal we love, I know for dam shore its saved my life..
I like this album more than the sin and the sentence, especially Vengeance falls and this song WOW I can sing along and jam to this
If anyone dislikes anything that Trivium does, they aren't a true fan, imo. They can suck it. I love every single thing you guys do! :D
Fell in love with this song *0*
If anyone's interested, I have a full guitar tutorial on both solos in this song with Tabs:
Matt's Solo: ruclips.net/video/ss5ro136nvI/видео.html
Corey's Solo: ruclips.net/video/KkwkPU9lLV0/видео.html
can't wait to see these guys at mayhem this year
mis respetos a esta banda
This song is fucking amazing
genial esta banda muy buena bakan cuando vendrán a chile
You guys rock
masterpiece
cant wait to see trivium next month! XD
You can tell David had influence on this album. All the better I say, it sounds brutal
this song is solid.
Good song
Trivium went from a band I somewhat enjoyed to the artist who released my #1 album of all time.
Number one top Screamers
I like both Disturbed and Trivium. I don't 100% disagree with the statement that this album sounds like Disturbed either. Yes, Trivium and Disturbed both sound different, but in this album David Draiman was the producer, so it makes sense that his style may have been expressed a little in this album. It's not unreasonable to think some of this album may sound a little like Disturbed for this reason. No need to be so antagonistic. It's just an opinion.
Cool!!!!!
Nice song
nice,,ilike the genre,,
Thank you so much for posting the whole album on here. I have the cd but its in my car (which is in for repair) .Really wanted to listen to it whist I do housework lol. :)
Really appreciate it
Hurricane in Denmark today.. been listening to it since it hit the shores :D
So gutted you played Southampton the other day but I am in a band and was gigging :(
Saw you about 3 years ago and you blew me away! Ascendancy is my favorite album but they are all amazing.
dang i juste noticed the "T" on the album cover
I didn't even notice it until now
Needed some time for that lol
l'album più bello di tutti i tempi
You know.. it only took about a million listens.. but this album started to grow on me today.. I absolutely LOVED every album put out by them before this.. But when this came out I was initially put off by the overall Disturbed feel and the Draiman "ooo-OOO-o-O-oooo!" in almost every song.. Good. I'm glad i'm starting to like it. The new The Haunted album kicks ass also.. now hopefully At The Gates will return with a vengeance in October too!
Wow. Such talent. Many melodic augmentation. So original chord progression. Amaze. Sangs. Interesting song structure #Neverheardthisbeforeahundredtimes
I heard this song live yesterday and people went fucking ape shit. There was a huge mosh pit that stretched from one side of the stage to the other and trivium kicked ass live.
why are these guys so fuckin awesome???
Gods shall fall as the Trinity of the shadows brings forth its storm of Hell and Wrath, leaving all in its wake in ruin
What
I hope you've checked out the older albums at this point, so that you could get a view of how they've changed with time!
Amen
the only thing that separates Trivium from Disturbed in this track is the guitar solos...
This album was directed by David Draiman of Disturbed
That must be a bad joke.
I have listened to both bands for quite some time now; it seems you have not.
Trivium and Disturbed is way to different altogether.
i have all trivium records and i´ve listened some disturbed songs since stupify and i can tell you my friend this trivium record sounds a lot like disturbed, and that sucks...
Bastardin Dindin So, I guess you don't like Disturbed?
just a couple of songs, i prefer trivium.
