“See if you can spot this one”
Im Supersonic my man
Took the words right out of my thumbs
Most legendary intro in rock n roll history
he is from china 🇨🇳🇨🇳🇨🇳
Always misheard it as "See if we can spoil this one".
It seems like no matter what song i try to learn I end up watching one of Martys videos.
Same
He is the only one I learn from
Same also with me
You are definitely my mentor. Nobody teaches as effectively as you do. I’m a slow learner but I get deliverable songs from your site. Thanks
I appreciate that!
Marty is the best!!!
Marty, you are just the best teacher. The way you patiently break it down is just awesome:
you have gotten me layed once again!
(high five) that's what I'm here for :)
@@MartyMusic haha good job Marty
i hope she wasn't very educated. You can't spell "laid".
John Caputo hahah
@@johncaputo5538
You dont get it
I have finally reached the level where I don't need him to explain the strumming pattern. Hallelujah
Probably one of the best feelings xD
Tristan Radeka yo
Tristan Radeka same
men I am doing it on repeat and still I am not able to follow it with strumming, feel so stupid :-)
Tristan Radeka haha I know right
Marty your lessons are off the hook. Better than when I actually paid to sit down with a teacher. Thanks for making these available to the online community.
I really appreciate that Paul! More BRAND NEW LESSONS on the way my friend! right here at "MartyMusic"
I get action from the ladies just by walking into a room and saying “Heyyyy WHATS UP!?, Marty Schwartz HERE!”!! ,and rightfully so.
Marty gets all the ladies wet.
we call that move the "hey you wanna see my Schwartz"
Makes the ladies go Mixolydian on my scale
You have become a meme between me and my friends we will walk into a room saying "what's up MARTY SCHWARTZ here"
ha ha thanks for keeping me in your thoughts Connor!
Connor Leno that's the exact same with me.
haha, I'm doing the exact same thing with a friend of mine :D :D :D
My father yells that when I play guitar ahaha
that is a good meme you have going on over there
you taught me the solo to this years ago... I still play it the same way.. of course with a little improv. but it's cool too see you doing all over again. don't give up. YOU... ARE... the best Guitar Sensei
Amazing how you are able to give a lesson on a song like Layla that even a crappy guitar novice like me can almost now play. Thanks!
ha ha I have no Idea keith, but thank you!
Marty, I am just one of your students you have helped over the years. Started July 2020 having no real expectations, just to detach a bit from reality. I learned so many songs by now thanks to you and your wonderful teaching methods; one thanks ain't enough, really.
I started playing many years ago but fell out of practice and got in a rut. I'm getting back into playing more these days and your tutorials are a real boost. You're a great teacher and make the mysterious achievable. Thanks Marty
Hello Marty i am French "no body is perfect" ich time I discover your work, I 'am amazed by the qualities of your teaching thank' for that
Thanks Marty! I picked up my guitar for the first time in a long time and learned this lesson and you are giving me ambition to get back into it!
Just started guitar again after 15-20 years. Recommended Marty by a guitar mate. Bloody marvelous. Great presentation, humour, ‘upbeat-ness’. Recently read a quote by Einstein; “if you can’t explain something to a six-year old, you don’t understand it yourself”. Well done Marty! I feel like a very accomplished six-year old:). Keep it up
You are the teacher I look for first when trying to learn a bit. Love your way!
Marty I have followed your lessons and postings for more than 5 years now. You are awesome and Layla is one of my favourite songs of all time. Thanks so much from the UK
This man is the best guitar teacher I have ever had, it doesn't matter what level your at. This guy can teach any age.
Thank you so much Marty! Ram Dass is popular saying "We're all just walking each other home." You really have walked me through good and bad. We never ever met once but I'd say thanks if we ever did meet!
Super quick and easy. I'm liking your looping/repeating on the song progression. It's the perfect amount of detail in the beginning and then constant repeat to practice in time with you. Thank you!
The most challenging part was the beginning... when it became easy is when i decided to use my pinky finger for the hammer on and remove it from my D minor chord. Now i've nailed it. Just needed to commit on which way I was going to do it.
As always, another great lesson. Glad to have you back, bud!
One of the best lessons with such clarity on the song structure. On the C chord, 1st position or barre, both work-yet on later videos you can spot Clapton gracefully using a C Add9. Middle-A3, Index -D2, Ring B3. I kind of like working the Bb barre chord with Index-A1, Ring D3, Pinkie-G3 just to get all the strings ringing perfectly even though other barres are suitable as Marty demonstrates. EDIT -One the Bb barre, going back how Eric does it, Index on A1, pinkie barring D3&G3. Then the Cadd9 and back to Marty’s perfect Dm chord. Ah, satisfaction. Whew!
Marty, just want to say that after 45 years of playing in a band, I have lost my hearing and have a cochlear implant. So I have problems picking out notes and keys etc. I am playing a lot from memory so your videos are great for breaking down songs for playing.I appreciate the time that you take to explain the songs and helps me a great deal as I dont wont to stop playing. Many thanks, PJ
I saw your Layla quick intro tip today & sourced your full version from 6 years ago! Beautiful work, Marty, and thanks for inspiring me to play more - just for how it makes me feel!
Thank you Marty for finally coming back! I immediately subscribed :)
MartyMusic is where I'm at Mike, all my best and thank you very very much!
+Marty Music could you do some damien rice stuff
mate please
for example cannonball
thank u
Hey, Marty could you do Midnight Train to Memphis??? can't seem to master the strumming hahah thanks
Great lesson - it finally simplified a song I have toyed with unsuccessfully for ages! Thanks Marty!
Thanks Marty I've been a thrashing round on a guitar for years not really making progress but a new Taylor gs mini and your lessons are working wonders never thought I'd get anywhere near playing Layla or any of the other stuff you're demonstrating your making a 51 year old very happy thanks again !
Marty, I love your style of instruction. The dah-dahs and bom-boms...I'm all about that!
Finally at the point where I can learn the songs I’ve wanting to play for so long! Thanks for the guidance master Martin
Where did you start?
Great lesson! I learned this twenty years ago but had forgotten how to play it. Thanks!!
Thanks so much for the comment and support! "MartyMusic" has more to come! Stay tuned!
Thank you Marty for teaching us all the great Rock songs through all the years! ♥♥♥
Marty I NEEDED to THANK YOU during all my long trip ,you HAVE the GREATEST/ENORMOUS HEART as a MUSICIAN which I have NEVER seen.
You are a GREAT HUMAN BEING/FRIEND.
The World is in DEBT with you for ALL your contribution to this ART and ENTERTAIMENT matter.
I imagine your parents!!!Kiss them from my heart.
very kind of you! I really appreciate the kind words. be sure to follow me right here at "MartyMusic" Peace!
Yes. What Josef Inigo said.
Keep it up Marty, love the lessons. You the man!
Thanks Marty. I picked this up super quick from your lesson. Over the years I would try to learn it straight from a tab and give up. You made it really easy. You're a great teacher!
Most epic guitar instructor on RUclips. Sincere thanks man, you've been a huge help to somebody who's never taken legit lessons, you make it all look easier than it is lol, but you make it seem possible and have so many great songs, and the way you explain it is better than anybody else. I hate those videos where they just keep talking, just get to the playing and move through it! You also do a great job explaining the theory or how a certain skill is applicable to other styles or songs. I sincerely hope you're getting paid well off of all this
Thanks Marty I'm still fairly new to Barre chords( and guitar) but I've tackled e minor shape, a minor shape and now a shape because of this song. 😁😁
THANKS MARTY!!! I have been following you for over 6 years now, following my progression in playing.... I just wanted to say even though many of us don't comment WE ALLL thank you for your commitment. much respect!!!!! Peter P.
A Legend teaching the ways of our favorite Legends.
I’ve always been an electric player, for a nice new acoustic this week to start learning more chords and this is a great one to learn Marty. Thanks! Great lesson.
You are always the best tutor. Have enjoyed this lesson very much.Thank you Marty
When I wanna learn a song I search on RUclips and every time Marty comes up and that’s perfect because he is the best!
Marty, you make guitar playing a real joy and learning easy. Thank you for the hard work you put into your videos.
Best teacher on RUclips hands down. 1000 thanks again Marty 👍🤘
Marty, you have taught me so much since I've been following you, truly incredible, thanks so much
wow - I can't read music, notes, or tab. I have been playing guitar for a long time now, but everything I know or play is usually by ear. I even play chords I don't know the name of because I cannot read scales either...lol 15 - 20 minutes on this video and I can play Layla including those notes here and there to make it sound awesome...a real great teacher can make anybody grasp and understand chord progression without even trying...that is exactly what you have done here Marty. I am pumped to check out more of your lessons - thanks a heap!!
wow,the way you show the alternatives of the hard sections, it's really helpful. Thanks man!
Marty keep on killin' it! I started learning guitar less than a month ago and you have been the channel that I keep consistently coming back to for quality lessons and advice on all matters guitar.

thanks so much Farid!
Agree. Not rushed. Understands the difficulty of each measure and takes his time to really show it to you so that you can get it. I agree, gifted but with huge heart for teaching and for this medium. No wonder he's millions of followers...

Hi Marty, I have come back to the guitar after a 20 year long break. Whenever I want to practice a song I like first I go to your channel. If I can't find it there I give up and rather find another song:-)
Simply explained, precise and fun. Thanks a lot

Refresher-ha! Yes, this is where I go for that 5 min “Damn, that’s how you play that!!” Marty is just a great guy!
Glad to see you're back at it making videos again. You're the reason that I learnt back in 2014, if it wasn't for your teaching I wouldn't of been able to learn on my own
That helps motivate me to make this new venture "MartyMusic" the best that I can! Thanks again Liam!
