When I see their popularity in Korea, I totally understand why they don't have a lightstick. Maybe, with a little more confidence in selling them to foreign fans they'll do it, but it probably needs another successfull release.
I truly think the production team did a good job with what they were given but it feels like the budget was still smaller than previous music videos. Do you agree? clc is so criminally underrated, not even only domestically but also internationally which sucks even more. heck, they're even underrated by their own company!! cube doesn't deserve them and i just hope for *once* in their career cube does them justice for their next comeback, before it's too late and they decide to pull the plugs. clc deserves so much better i'm sad
They were underrated but I think they got a lot of recognition in Helicopter like I was suprised with the amount of views they got in Helicopter. Yes they are still underrappreciated but they are starting to get recognition already just like Dreamcatcher

We all should fly to cube entertainment and rally outside for cube to send clc on queendom season 2. Unfortunately it's not easy for an older group to gain immense popularity suddenly because people don't look back at older groups but only look forward to newer debut groups and clc is missing out on lot of the newer kpop fans who mostly follow groups in 4th gen. I think only a popular show can catapult CLC into becoming a household name in Korea. And that's the most important, because internationally they have a good enough fanbase but domestically they are struggling badly that's why they never trend in music charts and their comebacks don't chart well, leading to less exposure to korean kpop fans, lesser album sales and it even affects their music show wins, which even if international fans vote really well they lose on the trophies because they have very low points for MV views, digital sales in Korea...
@@neotani6202 that is not wise although I know you are joking. We have huge representative fanclubs that constantly and politely send letters to cube to request and ask for clc. Cube has a change in management. You can say that this single is testing water after they rebranded clc. With low budget yet still succeeding at this length, there would be enough funds and assurance for the company to keep clc and polish them into gems. The logo is quite mature so we can wait for the strong dominant female type concept to come up. Clc might join queendom season two. Who would be better candidates other then them. With cube current effort we have a slight chance. We just have to make sure to push continually. And pray that more korean fans love strong dominant female concept

I noticed Yeeun’s stage presence this era has vastly improved. Watching Devil and No stages in comparison makes it even more obvious. Good Girl really did boost her up a lot and I’m so glad. Their first Mnet performance is also my new favorite stage.
To me she's always been this fantastic since many eras ago, it's just that many comebacks weren't focused on her. 'Devil' for example was a comeback focused on the vocal line, so she obviously didn't have much chance to do much. Just my pov.
I didn’t request but I was waiting for someone to really say how low budget this was even for cube. Covid really had nothing to do with the low quality of the mv, especially compared to other things cube has put put this year. Cheshires did a lot to support the girls and broke a lot of their personal records but this that damned blue box that isn’t putting in the work. Their little rebrand video had more dedication than the mv
I loved the MV! It was refreshing and eye-catching. You don`t always need an enormous budget (e.g. Blackpink) in order to produce a good MV. Also, low budget doesn`t equal low quality, this is a flawed logic.

@@z.k.7330 I'm not saying you can't like it, I'm glad some people do. But as a chesire and someone who has been a fan and supported the girls since 2015 this is beyond disappointing. When you actually look at the footage that is in the video, it's all reused , like pd said. they couldn't even give them different sets to stand on. It comes off like a dance version mv more than an actual music video. It's a boring music video and that's why it lacks quality, not because it isn't pretty to look at but because of the bare minimum effort that was put into it.
I agree with a lot of what you’re saying here PD. When I first watched the mv I thought it was a step up in budget until I realized its 2 main sets and a few individual small sets. They really tried to get as much as possible out of the LED set. Different colors, strobes, drop the lights so the girls are between them. Add mirrors. But yeah it was a bit disappointing. Like 1 more set would have made it feel totally different. The good news is that the mv reached 10M in less than 2 days and is now at 31M, by far their best. Also the physical album for the single tripled their previous best first week sales. They trended #1 on twitter at release. Got 6th on Billboard and grew the fan base. So hopefully Cube sees the growth and invests more into them.
The reason you may have received so many requests for this mv may also be the that due to CLC’s lower popularity, fans hope for a reaction/review for exposure and not because they think the mv is particular impressive 😔
@@formoftherapy I thought so too! When I first got into Kpop and I stumbled upon CLC's Black dress I thought they were as big as some of the more pouplar ggs like Twice or Red Velvet because their songs are so good! Sadly, not many people appreciate them

The cutesy songs and long hiatus made the international audience forget about them and instead focus on other groups that were active.
There's something pleasantly familiar about the song, something powerful and gently nostalgic? It's not super musically unique or complex, but it just scratches this itch for "anthem-style" songs that makes me feel so pumped and hyped. The music video is also absolutely gorgeous, I feel like the set budget was more limited but the light effects made it seem a lot more expensive and thought-out, and those oooutfits! I was also pleasantly surprised about the line distribution because I felt like Sorn didn't get much attention, but girl just be busy eating those intense ad-libs towards the end hahah. I wasn't too excited by "Devil", but this one, uhhh, this one will be on repeat for a while.
Yea I completely agree with you. It's a great song in my opinion not over the top but powerful enough. Also I love listening to their diverse vocals, seungyeon, eunbin, sorn and seunghee especially.

everyone thought same when they released hobgoblin or black dress or no but cube is still treating them badly in my opinion they r the best and well balanced group cube has right now if they had capitalized with clc way back in 2017 they would have made millions and millions of profit from clc but they had one plan debut new girl group and push them as hard as possible and forget that they even have another girl group now they r already a 5 yr old group but still they don't have a full album lightstick and cube will also probably won't give them a world tour ever

Sadly this IS Cube undercutting CLC, however as much as I have my problems with the company I have to defend them in this case, why you may ask? People really overestimate how profitable CLC is, a lot of my friends who aren't even really kpop fans know CLC and in general if you really think about it internationally they are one of the biggest groups having 30M views in two weeks always being in top 10 spotify listeners and charting high on itunes worldwide and digital billboard, you would think with all that CLC sells pretty well right? Well surprisingly for some reason still unknown to man kind they don't, CLC is one of the worst selling girl groups out there. Here is the thing, when people talk about CLC's mistreatment they compare them to groups like Lovelyz, Weki Meki, WJSN, Dreamcatcher etc there is this conception that CLC is sort of above them because they are much more "popular" however how much do you think they sale? Well to give you a random number Dreamcatcher's last comeback with BOCA just surpassed 50k sales, pretty much all Lovelyz and Weki Meki albums sell around 30k-60k do you know how much CLC sells? Well just to give an idea (and keep in mind CLC is older than all of those groups) their best sellers right now No.1 and Helicopter are roughly touching 15k.....yeah it's THAT BAD all other CLC albums barely touch 5k-10k sales, it's too low and add to that the fact that CLC is never really invited to award shows or festivals and have literally one to zero brand promotions their revenue really is low. CLC isn't making money, I don't even think they make enough to at least pay the debt of each comeback so honestly I am happy this is not as high budget I can only imagine the situation the girls are in right now needing to pay CUBE I don't want that gap to get bigger. PLEASE BUY CLC MUSIC! They need it, I mean things are looking up with Helicopter being just a single album but already doing better than No.1 so there's that but please be mindful of what you are asking cheshire, as much as I would love it we can't ask thousands thousands of dollars from CUBE that they aren't getting back. (And YES cube IS in many ways at fault for not promoting and managing CLC better however I still feel like even with that my point still stands that people don't realize in how bad of a place CLC is in terms of budget)
This is correct. Even with "Hobgoblin" which is considered the turning point when it comes to CLC getting much needed attention, did not chart at all in Korea. It charted on Billboard's World Songs chart and did very well there but not in their homeland. The last time a song of theirs charted on the Gaon Digital charts was "No Oh Oh" back in 2016 and it only got to 144.
@@MrSuperjam789 Exactly, and something that people don't know is that Crystyle is one of their worst selling albums and Free'sm which came after and people say "ruined" their career sold better, CLC 's story is really complicated honestly.

In my opinion Cube is just testing the waters with CLC this comeback. I don't know if you've noticed but this comeback has been promoted way better than both ME and Devil together. The new CEO of Cube has been making a lot of changes and this has been very beneficial for Cube's groups including CLC. The new CEO really likes CLC, and he keeps up with all of their achievements and even social media. Let's hope that Cube is letting CLC comeback in early 2021 with a full album or at least a mini album. CLC have been breaking a lot of their own records this comeback, their sales improved, high views and even charting very high on Billboard. They lack domestic support which is definitely a big weakness of CLC's success. Hoping for them to join Queendom season 2, to boost their domestic fanbase. It certainly helped groups like Lovelyz, Oh my Girl and CLC's juniors (G)-IDLE as well.
The rapper line is really awesome especially the bass sound from Eunbin. Her lines fit her this time. I really agree with what PD said and really hope that CLC can get more attention especially in Korea. CLC doesn’t bring huge profit so that they may get fewer comeback in view of Cube especially compared with Gidle. And I understand what Cube thinks.
it's funny that you felt like Eubin got a lot of lines whereas Sorn got way less lines and took a back seat, because if you look at the line distribution, Sorn got 20% (she's the singing the second part of the chorus everytime) whereas Eubin only got 9.5 % ! maybe the screentime is different and that's why it felt that way

Reality is, PD, Cube is never going to care for CLC the way they care for (G)i-dle. Not even Pentagon get high budget MVs. No hate to Idle of course but that’s just the reality. When will CLC get a decent or high budget MV? No one knows and as a Cheshire I don’t even expect nor hold my breath anymore.
I understand you but Idle is way more popular and earn more money than Clc. Obviously i think if they promote them more they could as successul but Idle is a younger Group with more success so they focus on them
Doudie Bloups Idle having a bigger budget, is a given. It’s obvious. However, explain to me how Helicopter’s MV was way underwhelming and probably even worse than NO, ME, and Devil combine? Like PD said, this MV could have been better and while this looks glamorous, the MV is just unsatisfying. Also, explain this: Every comeback CLC has, they break their own records and do even better in terms of album sales. How come the better they get each comeback, they STILL have such underwhelming and basic MVs? Shouldn’t their budgets be increasing? What about all the extra they got by having Yeeun in good girl? You also two of the members who have become youtubers in which they have a very decent following? I don’t think budget at this point is the issue but the lack of care and effort. It’s pure laziness. There are other GG underrated as CLC like Dreamcatcher and DreamCatcher has AMAZING MVs, so I don’t think it’s a budget thing anymore. It just can’t be.

Interesting input. For me I thought this was a step up from their previous MVs. It does seem like there has been a slight increase in budget with this but yes still not good enough in terms of who CLC is. Some budget may have been allocated to the physical album because I think it is their most beautiful albums to date along with gorgeous individual member posters. The 2 Yeeun rap verses was killer! Seunghee being center during the chorus is amazing as well! Surprised to see Eunbin having many short rap verses was cool. So I agree with everything you said about the line distribution. Sorn, Yujin, and Elkie definitely had more lines during Me and Devil but what is so great about CLC is how they rotate and giving each member their own era to shine. Even though Sorn had little lines, when she does sing, it hits you hard! Also the ad libs from Sorn and Seunghee was amazing! Not sure if Elkie did any ad libs. Also 100% agree how Cube have been managing CLC so poorly. CLC were on a almost year hiatus not once but TWICE! From Devil to Helicopter and Black Dress to No. No studio full album yet. Took 5 years to give them official colors. The list just goes on. However, things are starting to look promising. It seems like Cube finally giving CLC the attention they deserve. They got a logo change. They got a visual film. They dropped "For Cheshire" videos. An English MV version (even though 90% of literally the same). There was like an advertisement project that was release like a couple days ago too! CLC have broken all their previous records of MV views, albums sales, and social media followings. So I really hope Cube continues this momentum with CLC. I do not want them to disappear again for another year. Hopefully more Korean fans will start to notice what a great group they have been missing out. The journey never ends.
Apparently the girls themselves decided to focus on only a single for now. I won't roast the MV cause I actually liked it and they look gorgeous. I love the details and hints to Leonardo da Vinci & Michael Angelo. At least the physical single is very good quality (comparing to for example Idle releases this year).
the reason why they are giving so much to Yeeun because she was in a group called 'good girl' in a reality show with a bunch of idols like hyoyeon from snsd,jiwoo from kard and soloists like ailee ,jamie,cheetah ,anyway i am happy for her and for the group that they are starting to gain more recognition because they are as good as the famous girl groups with badass and girl crush concepts .

Honestly dont think I care much if the amount of money spent on a music video is huge or small. Only that it LOOKS expensive and/or good. Directors can spend sh*tloads of money and end up with a sh*tty video nonethless. On the other hand some teams are good at making videos that looks high quality in contrast to the budget that's been given. Maybe you as a professional can tell the difference between high and low budget but for me it was perfectly fine and satisfying to watch this one. Actually might be my favorite video of Clc. In fact to me it looked more expensive than all of Clc's other videos, which probably isnt the case. For instance Devil was a great song but the Mv looked so cheap even if they probably spent some coin on the sets. It came off as really low budget-y and overall just not good. But I understand your point, when you highlight the difference in budget for Clc and other Cube groups. Groups under same label should be getting equal treatment and promotions. On the other hand Cube is doing better job with promotions now that they never did before with Clc. Clc guesting on Cosmopolitan, Buzzfeed and other shows, English version of the song and Mv (Mv looks 99% same but whatever lol) and lots of content for the fans. Hope that this is as you said just a pre release of sorts before the full album or mini. Since it has been such long time since Clc's last comeback It maybe isnt such a bad move to release a single at this point to increase the hype, before the comeback with an EP later on

Thank you. I'm a newer Cheshire and was learning about them and watching their moment compilations and behind the scenes videos, etc. when this song and video dropped. I've been so on board and loved every minute of this comeback. I guess I hadn't noticed the low budget of the video or cared, there were so many moments that I liked and wanted to see them do in the live performances. It does seem like they are being given better treatment and this is a great jumping on point for new fans. I then went back to see the No video and was also blown away. I may not be the best judge of video quality but it cemented for me the fact that overall, this was the group I was waiting to support. Slightly the underdog, but not due to personality or talent being lacking. I also love throughout all their different eras so far they all have the same desire and energy and honestly all like each other and get along and have fun together backstage. They also broke a bunch of personal records this time so hopefully they will continue for a long time and become even more successful.

It would have been good to also talk about CLC’s struggles and that cube invests what they can get from them. Truth is they barely sell so they get low budget. It makes sense.
If it wasn’t for the group itself, this would’ve been such a huge downer. The members works so hard, yet CUBE just won’t budge to give them what they deserve.
I just wish Cube would put in half the time and effort into CLC as they do g-idle, they really got 2 promising girl groups here that people both want to see succeed. Also, the girls really popped tf off in the live stages like holydamn, with the hair blowing in the wind and hard bass and sht. gold!
Oh pls. G-idle is basicly selfproduced. They put in a lot of work and soyeon even helped writing no which was clcs first win. But here you're crying that g-idle get everything served on a plate which is simply not true. And yes this is a business so it makes sense that g-idle gets their lightstick since they're successfull. Cube doesn't see the returns with clc. At least they still try and didn't give them up. Well there is only a small number of groups that succeed and it's a tough competition. Let's be real. Clc most likely won't hit it big the last 2 years. I thought hobgoblin will change things. It didn't. Then i thought black dress will do the job. It didn't. @@spane81 Hobgoblin did change things, it brought in enough revenue to really start promoting CLC and vastly improving their MV’s. But Cubes poor management with CLC wasted the opportunity, and they used the money elsewhere, and not on CLC. I have no hate or complaints with gIdle, (I used to be a Nevie at one point and time), mine is all with Cube.

I also agree, G(idle) is lucky enough to have a genius composer like Soyeon and they deserve all their comebacks, while none of CLC are at that level of composing. I superrr agree. When everyone was hyping about the mv I was like "what low budget shit is this?". Like u said they only changed background while on the same stage. There aren't many props too. I was expecting like a whole studio with like helicopter behind it but.... The mv didn't really show the song well imo. It's just like a brand advertisement. If u see the mv more, you'll notice some of the light show are actually edited on top of the original video.
CLC is one of the groups i miss the most from kpop, I love them so much. This would have been a phenomenal and group breaking album if it came faster. There most successful yet and cube still didn’t do them right. CLC will be missed
yeeun was super shy on good girl in the beginning but her confidence in her skills grew as time went on. she was there to not only promote herself as the top-tier rapper she is but also as a member of clc. she was 100% there to promote clc which I found so amazing. chesires were happy to see yeeun get sm attention in helipcoper, its great to see cube capitalize off the popularity of yeeun..
I also think this mv wasn’t their best but you could tell their team is putting a lot more effort into them and trying to capitalize on Yeeun’s new fame from good girl which is exactly what they should be doing! So I’m happy with the comeback, I’m glad their team and cube is finally putting in some more effort.
I was expecting an EP but getting a single was kind of cruel. I'm grateful that CLC were coming back but we got single after single in a YEAR?! One of the reasons why CLC's good is their music and Cube gave CLC 3 singles in a row despite their success with N.O. Cube's lucky that all 3 were ear candy to me. (Helicopter,Me and Devil are bops)

I'm treating this song as almost a redebut in a sense that like a debut it shows the members strengths (tho not enough for Yujin/Elkie imo) and their beauty and showing what they're capable of. Fitting that a song titled "Helicopter" would be a vehicle for CLC to show that when it comes to singing, dancing, stage presence they're tough competition.

clc is so criminally underrated, not even only domestically but also internationally which sucks even more. heck, they're even underrated by their own company!! cube doesn't deserve them and i just hope for *once* in their career cube does them justice for their next comeback, before it's too late and they decide to pull the plugs. clc deserves so much better i'm sad
They were underrated but I think they got a lot of recognition in Helicopter like I was suprised with the amount of views they got in Helicopter. Yes they are still underrappreciated but they are starting to get recognition already just like Dreamcatcher

We all should fly to cube entertainment and rally outside for cube to send clc on queendom season 2.
Unfortunately it's not easy for an older group to gain immense popularity suddenly because people don't look back at older groups but only look forward to newer debut groups and clc is missing out on lot of the newer kpop fans who mostly follow groups in 4th gen. I think only a popular show can catapult CLC into becoming a household name in Korea. And that's the most important, because internationally they have a good enough fanbase but domestically they are struggling badly that's why they never trend in music charts and their comebacks don't chart well, leading to less exposure to korean kpop fans, lesser album sales and it even affects their music show wins, which even if international fans vote really well they lose on the trophies because they have very low points for MV views, digital sales in Korea...
@@neotani6202 that is not wise although I know you are joking. We have huge representative fanclubs that constantly and politely send letters to cube to request and ask for clc. Cube has a change in management. You can say that this single is testing water after they rebranded clc. With low budget yet still succeeding at this length, there would be enough funds and assurance for the company to keep clc and polish them into gems. The logo is quite mature so we can wait for the strong dominant female type concept to come up.
Clc might join queendom season two. Who would be better candidates other then them. With cube current effort we have a slight chance. We just have to make sure to push continually. And pray that more korean fans love strong dominant female concept

I noticed Yeeun’s stage presence this era has vastly improved. Watching Devil and No stages in comparison makes it even more obvious. Good Girl really did boost her up a lot and I’m so glad.
Their first Mnet performance is also my new favorite stage.
To me she's always been this fantastic since many eras ago, it's just that many comebacks weren't focused on her. 'Devil' for example was a comeback focused on the vocal line, so she obviously didn't have much chance to do much. Just my pov.
I didn’t request but I was waiting for someone to really say how low budget this was even for cube. Covid really had nothing to do with the low quality of the mv, especially compared to other things cube has put put this year. Cheshires did a lot to support the girls and broke a lot of their personal records but this that damned blue box that isn’t putting in the work. Their little rebrand video had more dedication than the mv
I loved the MV! It was refreshing and eye-catching. You don`t always need an enormous budget (e.g. Blackpink) in order to produce a good MV. Also, low budget doesn`t equal low quality, this is a flawed logic.

I don't like to compare groups, but comparing G-idle and CLC's MV, the production budget is mismanaged
@@z.k.7330 I'm not saying you can't like it, I'm glad some people do. But as a chesire and someone who has been a fan and supported the girls since 2015 this is beyond disappointing. When you actually look at the footage that is in the video, it's all reused , like pd said. they couldn't even give them different sets to stand on. It comes off like a dance version mv more than an actual music video. It's a boring music video and that's why it lacks quality, not because it isn't pretty to look at but because of the bare minimum effort that was put into it.

I agree with a lot of what you’re saying here PD. When I first watched the mv I thought it was a step up in budget until I realized its 2 main sets and a few individual small sets. They really tried to get as much as possible out of the LED set. Different colors, strobes, drop the lights so the girls are between them. Add mirrors. But yeah it was a bit disappointing. Like 1 more set would have made it feel totally different. The good news is that the mv reached 10M in less than 2 days and is now at 31M, by far their best. Also the physical album for the single tripled their previous best first week sales. They trended #1 on twitter at release. Got 6th on Billboard and grew the fan base. So hopefully Cube sees the growth and invests more into them.
The reason you may have received so many requests for this mv may also be the that due to CLC’s lower popularity, fans hope for a reaction/review for exposure and not because they think the mv is particular impressive 😔

@@formoftherapy I thought so too! When I first got into Kpop and I stumbled upon CLC's Black dress I thought they were as big as some of the more pouplar ggs like Twice or Red Velvet because their songs are so good! Sadly, not many people appreciate them

It's not about cutesy song or long hiatus made them flop, it's just Korean don't pay any attention on them or listen to their songs. And a lot of groups face these problems except for groups from big three.

There's something pleasantly familiar about the song, something powerful and gently nostalgic? It's not super musically unique or complex, but it just scratches this itch for "anthem-style" songs that makes me feel so pumped and hyped. The music video is also absolutely gorgeous, I feel like the set budget was more limited but the light effects made it seem a lot more expensive and thought-out, and those oooutfits! I was also pleasantly surprised about the line distribution because I felt like Sorn didn't get much attention, but girl just be busy eating those intense ad-libs towards the end hahah. I wasn't too excited by "Devil", but this one, uhhh, this one will be on repeat for a while.

Yea I completely agree with you. It's a great song in my opinion not over the top but powerful enough. Also I love listening to their diverse vocals, seungyeon, eunbin, sorn and seunghee especially.

Sadly this IS Cube undercutting CLC, however as much as I have my problems with the company I have to defend them in this case, why you may ask? People really overestimate how profitable CLC is, a lot of my friends who aren't even really kpop fans know CLC and in general if you really think about it internationally they are one of the biggest groups having 30M views in two weeks always being in top 10 spotify listeners and charting high on itunes worldwide and digital billboard, you would think with all that CLC sells pretty well right? Well surprisingly for some reason still unknown to man kind they don't, CLC is one of the worst selling girl groups out there. Here is the thing, when people talk about CLC's mistreatment they compare them to groups like Lovelyz, Weki Meki, WJSN, Dreamcatcher etc there is this conception that CLC is sort of above them because they are much more "popular" however how much do you think they sale? Well to give you a random number Dreamcatcher's last comeback with BOCA just surpassed 50k sales, pretty much all Lovelyz and Weki Meki albums sell around 30k-60k do you know how much CLC sells? Well just to give an idea (and keep in mind CLC is older than all of those groups) their best sellers right now No.1 and Helicopter are roughly touching 15k.....yeah it's THAT BAD all other CLC albums barely touch 5k-10k sales, it's too low and add to that the fact that CLC is never really invited to award shows or festivals and have literally one to zero brand promotions their revenue really is low. CLC isn't making money, I don't even think they make enough to at least pay the debt of each comeback so honestly I am happy this is not as high budget I can only imagine the situation the girls are in right now needing to pay CUBE I don't want that gap to get bigger. PLEASE BUY CLC MUSIC! They need it, I mean things are looking up with Helicopter being just a single album but already doing better than No.1 so there's that but please be mindful of what you are asking cheshire, as much as I would love it we can't ask thousands thousands of dollars from CUBE that they aren't getting back. (And YES cube IS in many ways at fault for not promoting and managing CLC better however I still feel like even with that my point still stands that people don't realize in how bad of a place CLC is in terms of budget)
This is correct. Even with "Hobgoblin" which is considered the turning point when it comes to CLC getting much needed attention, did not chart at all in Korea. It charted on Billboard's World Songs chart and did very well there but not in their homeland. The last time a song of theirs charted on the Gaon Digital charts was "No Oh Oh" back in 2016 and it only got to 144.
@@MrSuperjam789 Exactly, and something that people don't know is that Crystyle is one of their worst selling albums and Free'sm which came after and people say "ruined" their career sold better, CLC 's story is really complicated honestly.

In my opinion Cube is just testing the waters with CLC this comeback. I don't know if you've noticed but this comeback has been promoted way better than both ME and Devil together. The new CEO of Cube has been making a lot of changes and this has been very beneficial for Cube's groups including CLC. The new CEO really likes CLC, and he keeps up with all of their achievements and even social media. Let's hope that Cube is letting CLC comeback in early 2021 with a full album or at least a mini album. CLC have been breaking a lot of their own records this comeback, their sales improved, high views and even charting very high on Billboard. They lack domestic support which is definitely a big weakness of CLC's success. Hoping for them to join Queendom season 2, to boost their domestic fanbase. It certainly helped groups like Lovelyz, Oh my Girl and CLC's juniors (G)-IDLE as well.
Fun fact: Seunghee actually got a lot of lines and it was mostly due to her adlibs in the last chorus

The rapper line is really awesome especially the bass sound from Eunbin. Her lines fit her this time. I really agree with what PD said and really hope that CLC can get more attention especially in Korea. CLC doesn’t bring huge profit so that they may get fewer comeback in view of Cube especially compared with Gidle. And I understand what Cube thinks.

it's funny that you felt like Eubin got a lot of lines whereas Sorn got way less lines and took a back seat, because if you look at the line distribution, Sorn got 20% (she's the singing the second part of the chorus everytime) whereas Eubin only got 9.5 % ! maybe the screentime is different and that's why it felt that way

I don’t think budget at this point is the issue but the lack of care and effort. It’s pure laziness. There are other GG underrated as CLC like Dreamcatcher and DreamCatcher has AMAZING MVs, so I don’t think it’s a budget thing anymore. It just can’t be.

Interesting input. For me I thought this was a step up from their previous MVs. It does seem like there has been a slight increase in budget with this but yes still not good enough in terms of who CLC is. Some budget may have been allocated to the physical album because I think it is their most beautiful albums to date along with gorgeous individual member posters.
The 2 Yeeun rap verses was killer! Seunghee being center during the chorus is amazing as well! Surprised to see Eunbin having many short rap verses was cool. So I agree with everything you said about the line distribution. Sorn, Yujin, and Elkie definitely had more lines during Me and Devil but what is so great about CLC is how they rotate and giving each member their own era to shine. Even though Sorn had little lines, when she does sing, it hits you hard! Also the ad libs from Sorn and Seunghee was amazing! Not sure if Elkie did any ad libs.
Also 100% agree how Cube have been managing CLC so poorly. CLC were on a almost year hiatus not once but TWICE! From Devil to Helicopter and Black Dress to No. No studio full album yet. Took 5 years to give them official colors. The list just goes on. However, things are starting to look promising. It seems like Cube finally giving CLC the attention they deserve. They got a logo change. They got a visual film. They dropped "For Cheshire" videos. An English MV version (even though 90% of literally the same). There was like an advertisement project that was release like a couple days ago too!
CLC have broken all their previous records of MV views, albums sales, and social media followings. So I really hope Cube continues this momentum with CLC. I do not want them to disappear again for another year. Hopefully more Korean fans will start to notice what a great group they have been missing out.

Apparently the girls themselves decided to focus on only a single for now. I won't roast the MV cause I actually liked it and they look gorgeous. I love the details and hints to Leonardo da Vinci & Michael Angelo. At least the physical single is very good quality (comparing to for example Idle releases this year).
the reason why they are giving so much to Yeeun because she was in a group called 'good girl' in a reality show with a bunch of idols like hyoyeon from snsd,jiwoo from kard and soloists like ailee ,jamie,cheetah ,anyway i am happy for her and for the group that they are starting to gain more recognition because they are as good as the famous girl groups with badass and girl crush concepts .

Honestly dont think I care much if the amount of money spent on a music video is huge or small. Only that it LOOKS expensive and/or good. Directors can spend sh*tloads of money and end up with a sh*tty video nonethless. On the other hand some teams are good at making videos that looks high quality in contrast to the budget that's been given. Maybe you as a professional can tell the difference between high and low budget but for me it was perfectly fine and satisfying to watch this one. Actually might be my favorite video of Clc. In fact to me it looked more expensive than all of Clc's other videos, which probably isnt the case. For instance Devil was a great song but the Mv looked so cheap even if they probably spent some coin on the sets. It came off as really low budget-y and overall just not good. But I understand your point, when you highlight the difference in budget for Clc and other Cube groups. Groups under same label should be getting equal treatment and promotions. On the other hand Cube is doing better job with promotions now that they never did before with Clc. Clc guesting on Cosmopolitan, Buzzfeed and other shows, English version of the song and Mv (Mv looks 99% same but whatever lol) and lots of content for the fans.
Hope that this is as you said just a pre release of sorts before the full album or mini. Since it has been such long time since Clc's last comeback It maybe isnt such a bad move to release a single at this point to increase the hype, before the comeback with an EP later on

Thank you. I'm a newer Cheshire and was learning about them and watching their moment compilations and behind the scenes videos, etc. when this song and video dropped. I've been so on board and loved every minute of this comeback. I guess I hadn't noticed the low budget of the video or cared, there were so many moments that I liked and wanted to see them do in the live performances. It does seem like they are being given better treatment and this is a great jumping on point for new fans. I then went back to see the No video and was also blown away. I may not be the best judge of video quality but it cemented for me the fact that overall, this was the group I was waiting to support. Slightly the underdog, but not due to personality or talent being lacking. I also love throughout all their different eras so far they all have the same desire and energy and honestly all like each other and get along and have fun together backstage. They also broke a bunch of personal records this time so hopefully they will continue for a long time and become even more successful.

Oh pls. G-idle is basicly selfproduced. They put in a lot of work and soyeon even helped writing no which was clcs first win. But here you're crying that g-idle get everything served on a plate which is simply not true. And yes this is a business so it makes sense that g-idle gets their lightstick since they're successfull. Cube doesn't see the returns with clc. At least they still try and didn't give them up. Well there is only a small number of groups that succeed and it's a tough competition. Let's be real. Clc most likely won't hit it big the last 2 years. I thought hobgoblin will change things. It didn't. Then i thought black dress will do the job. It didn't. And helicopter or what they put out next probably won't do it either. Enjoy and support but stop crying and shaming.

Hobgoblin did change things, it brought in enough revenue to really start promoting CLC and vastly improving their MV’s.
But Cubes poor management with CLC wasted the opportunity, and they used the money elsewhere, and not on CLC. I have no hate or complaints with gIdle, (I used to be a Nevie at one point and time), mine is all with Cube.

I also agree, G(idle) is lucky enough to have a genius composer like Soyeon and they deserve all their comebacks, while none of CLC are at that level of composing. But, there are plenty of girl groups who don't self-compose but also don't have to wait 2 years for a comeback.

yess i was waiting for your reaction to clc. these girls slays every damn time and even tho their mvs are not that much high budget they can make the best out of it. cube doesn’t give them much and that makes me sad we were waiting an album but obviously i was happy and gave them my whole support🤍

I superrr agree. When everyone was hyping about the mv I was like "what low budget shit is this?". Like u said they only changed background while on the same stage. There aren't many props too. I was expecting like a whole studio with like helicopter behind it but.... The mv didn't really show the song well imo. It's just like a brand advertisement. If u see the mv more, you'll notice some of the light show are actually edited on top of the original video.

CLC is one of the groups i miss the most from kpop, I love them so much. This would have been a phenomenal and group breaking album if it came faster. There most successful yet and cube still didn’t do them right. CLC will be missed

omg I never realized the music video was low budgeted. they snapped on making it look good tbh; it’s the camerawork and the camera quality itself.
yeeun was super shy on good girl in the beginning but her confidence in her skills grew as time went on. she was there to not only promote herself as the top-tier rapper she is but also as a member of clc. she was 100% there to promote clc which I found so amazing. chesires were happy to see yeeun get sm attention in helipcoper, its great to see cube capitalize off the popularity of yeeun..

I also think this mv wasn’t their best but you could tell their team is putting a lot more effort into them and trying to capitalize on Yeeun’s new fame from good girl which is exactly what they should be doing! So I’m happy with the comeback, I’m glad their team and cube is finally putting in some more effort.

When I watched this MV I immediately thought it looked pretty low budget and wanted you to react to it. Glad to hear your opinions and insights as always!
I'm treating this song as almost a redebut in a sense that like a debut it shows the members strengths (tho not enough for Yujin/Elkie imo) and their beauty and showing what they're capable of. Fitting that a song titled "Helicopter" would be a vehicle for CLC to show that when it comes to singing, dancing, stage presence they're tough competition.
Don't forget to listen to the English version of Helicopter. The lyrics is really good. An English version of MV just released today.
CLC deserve so much better and it feels like CUBE gives them nothing. No lightstick, 3 singles in a row, and a year between comebacks.
