For a house that's 100 years old I think they did a good job of renovating it. I don't care for some of their design choices, but the bones are good. The location especially next to a business, along with a high price are probably the biggest negatives. A suggestion would be to provide a short on updates of these houses. What did you hear back from the agents or if they did sell and at what price. Also, having some comps or avg house prices for the area would help us determine if the house is overpriced or not.

The driveway is an issue because it leaves an unspoken invitation to use it anytime by passing vehicles. I can imagine some using it to get to the next road. Looks nice overall but needs rearrangements like the kitchen area and fixes like the brown spots, cracking in the basement etc. It seems there's a deeper issue going on within the structure that needs to be addressed. $1.1 MIL no way.

Triple negative before you go in the house; a busy street, a business next door, and it looks like gaps at house's foundation on driveway side asking for water to come in. Who wants to pay that kind of money and live next door to a business that might close, have turn overs or sit vacant? They might want to think about renting it out.

Thanks for showing this home. I live in the area and wondered about this home. Wrong type of island, tile is too busy and closets are too small for a million dollar home. They stripped away the architectural details and created a white box. You're absolutely right, the bathroom tiles are clashing. They missed the opportunity of more seating by putting in an island that doesn't seat. Closet space is too small and the staging looks random. There's no warmth in the entire house , the flooring can't couldn't tone down the coldness. The busy street plus the dental office is going to be a deterrent. I'm not surprised the house has been on the market for a year. Whatever happened to walk throughs after a house renovation? They might get the house sold if the inside issues are resolved, there's nothing they can do about the outside except get a fence that connects. Last but not least the brown spots on the exterior and interior of the house needs to be resolved. The only way this house might get sold "as is" would be if there's a big price drop.

That tile work looks like a handyman did it. They’re not laid evenly, and that shower with the caulk is a leak waiting to happen. Combine that with all the woodwork that wasn’t primed, so all the knots are bleeding through, makes this a Home Depot flip that’s gonna be an expensive house to correct.

That house was a mess all on its own! Add a busy street, high selling price, random ppl walking up and down the street, a broken fence, and next to a dental office... this house is doomed! They need to drop the price to account for all that. I live in Hampton Roads and i think that about is outrageous price, but it is DC. i could get a mansion here for $1.1M... maybe they should drop to $800k. The finishes are giving the GC got all these tile and finishes on sale and wanted to use it all up.

When developers or flippers upgrade an historic house (to me 1921 is historic) they make some major changes and compromises. Closet space is always an issue because older homes did not have the closet space that modern new builds have. You were focused a lot on the tiling and I thought that was one of the better things about the home. All the tiles were neutral (white, black, grey) and they made some nice choices with patterns. May be there is an issue with the installation and the grout work but hard to see on the video. I would have spent more time on the curb appeal and making the front yard welcoming and inviting. Also, location is an issue as it's right next door to a medical clinic so that means a lot of people coming and going, perhaps parking on the block is difficult during clinic hours. And yes, for a $1M home the staging could have been better. Maybe the dining room solution is a round table?

Jonathan, yes it might be the details but it’s also the price. Issues aside, this house is not worth 1 mil. Are there comps in the neighborhood to justify that price? Where do these developers get off trying to sell a lot of these homes for over a million dollars. They tried to do that in my neighborhood with a home that is two doors down from me (I live in DC) with a single family home they redeveloped. It’s been on the market for at least 6 months. In that time, they have dropped the price 150K. I’m wondering if they will ever sell it.

No way I’m living next to a dentist or any other retail space.
Nice door on the wrong house.
They absolutely forced that island and it’s NOT in the kitchen which makes it odd, very odd. The island is just in the way for no good reason. It can’t be used for seating, why is it there? Glass front appliances beyond the oven is begging for something to happen to crack the appliance glass. My stainless steel refrigerator has a dent, can’t imagine that being glass when that impact occurred.
I like the tile patterns individually. It looks like someone used all their favorite patterns at once. Making for overly busy powder and bathroom decor. The bad grouting can be corrected. All the floor and decor showrooms have similar tiled bathrooms. Take a look, because that’s the style and trend.
The basement level looks great and yes, that gap at the ceiling looks bad and the house definitely moved, but when and was the crack there before the basement was finished or after? The structure itself may be covering utilities, plumbing or duct work since it’s the ground floor. The exterior door isn’t plumb or square causing the door to stick, another indication of settling.
Older homes did not consider closet space and it shows.
Overall, I really like the house despite its quirks. It could definitely be used to generate income but 1.1m is a big bite and for that much loot, the kitchen needs to be fabulous and it’s not. The entire first floor killed any interest I would have in buying. The living/dining/kitchen room mashup is a non starter at 1.1m for me.

This house is trying to tick a whole bunch of boxes randomly, without grounding them in purpose. They are details without utility or coherence. That black fence out front is really cheap anyway, and then they added that silly little border fence so the realtor could show her sign? That out-of-proportion kitchen island chews up space that's needed in the living areas; you can't even really sit at it, for a conversation, or have kids doing homework at it, because it's too far from where you need to prep.
We need your son to hop in that tub to check the scale: that was a classic moment in your other video. Those paint spots are the knots showing through; they were too skimpy with the paint. A lot about this house is cheap cosmetics: don't trust the renovation at all. There's a weird waste of space at the bottom of the stairs on the first floor.
You can't hear the traffic inside the house....that's good.
NO on the price. Waaaay off. The finishings are all inexpensive: consider the doors (they're super-budget).
