- For the first four years of The Disney Afternoon syndicated TV block, Disney used these cool little animated bumpers to segue between commercial breaks. Starting with the 1994 Season, they switched to a more boring, generic format.
The first year, they used a frog as their mascot. The second year, the classic Belgian comic strip character, Marsupilami would appear in the bumps. And in the third year, various characters would appear, including Goofy and Bonkers. Interestingly, both Marsupilami and Bonkers appeared in bumpers long before their respective cartoons aired.

I can't put my finger on it, but it's so much less cynical than what I might expect from a cartoon imitating a recent trend in a cartoon being made now.

I'm amazed at how many of these are Marsupilami, considering how short lived Raw Toonage turned out to be.

4:28 Bonkers would drive Sergeant Grating crazy nearly every episode as he did with Lucky Piquel (shown here) nearly every episode. No wonder why Sergeant Grating and Lucky Piquel wanted toons out of their sight though Lucky did have a little better attitude toward him that Sergeant Grating! ("Nice Work, Partner!" In Calling All Cars for example)

On Saturday Disney on CityTV, Marsipilami and Maurice bumper were used for Raw Toonage and Goofy bumper were used for Goof Troop.
I love these Disney Afternoon numbers! I wish I saw these on TV.

While alot of those bumpers are fun, some of them tend to go by so fast that they don't give you enough breathing room. Especially the trimmed down cuts that have a much smaller rune time that the fully complete bumpers.

Because Kids Today don't even know what good cartoon shows are these days, after everything that's been happening over the years, I think that Kids should watch old school Cartoon Shows, Then the Crappy Ones that are around Today.
I feel bad for kids who never knew what it's like to watch afternoon cartoons on local tv, and the ones who can't afford cable, or streaming services have to settle for tabloid trash, and sensations news.
