So, I work in a foundry, and we have very few CAD models available for the parts we make. When I try to use True Position on a feature, it says "datum features must have a nominal component". However, when i go to "define nominal", it often gives me an error and doesnt allow me to define it. I'm often using constructed features (for instance, a cone for a boss on a part, intersected with a plane on top the boss, to find the circle at max draft) as my datums. In fact, I rarely use the "fit" feature you showed in this video (find it more finiky and difficult to get what I want out of it) Is there a way to define these constructed features' nominal values to allow positioning GD&T?
Good lecture to improve skills. Thank you.

Fallen at the first hurdle. I don't have that extract from polygonal models button.
