What you call cold welding is using a TIG welder and just spot welding a bunch of times in a row. There is still heat present as the metal changes color when you do the spot welds. You can definitely spot weld and put things together but that has very little resistance and strength to it. To get proper & strong welds you need to bevel the parts (or gap them) and fill the gap with a filler rod. All this aside, the video in itself is still great though. I like the concept of making your own linear actuator and it seems to work pretty good!
@@Doctor-Robo sharing the knowledge is a good thing, to fix the current welds for example you can simply take a grinder and cut a groove where your parts meet (all along where you tacked it) so that you create a V groove and then fill that groove back up with filler rod to get proper penetration on both parts. Generally those tack welds are used to fit the parts together and make them hold them in place. The only time you will want to do this so called cold welding for the entire length of the weld is when welding very thin metal together so that you don’t burn a big hole in it. Keep up the good work 🤘
I'd love to see your drawings :-) btw I like this Voice the best so far ... will watch your cold-welding video to understand the penetration of the join
Hello! I plan to make a full video about my Cold Welding Machine, there I will do all the tests that this welding TIG can do. Come back, I will always be glad to see you on my channel!
@@Doctor-Robo I'll look forward to seeing the video; I really like the ingenuity of your content, so I'll be back for sure. 😎 I'm still not convinced there's such a thing as "cold" welding. From what I can see, it's either arc/spot or plasma welding without a filler metal, thus there's no depth to the weld or a bead, and neither is a "cold" process. Unless you want to prove it by touching the molten seam immediately after. 🤨
i also want to make linear actuator, and i already made one with small nut, but it is wobbly and resists spinning when threaded rod is not centered and fills force sideways. i am searching for the kind of nut you used, but can't find them in local shops or even online searching, what those long nuts are called?
A me piace l'idea. Per me ,bravo. Se mi rispondi mi fa piacere .saluti IW1CGF ...Costantino Italia torino
sir when i connect wiper motor directly to battery without speed controller, it refused to carry me on my bicycle but it turned the wheels without load. why?
Should I subscribe to your channel if you can't even weld? Can't you see that it's glued and not welded, learn to weld and then show it. And a trapezoidal screw is used for the drive, not a threaded rod, This gate will open in a week.
Explanation is no good at all. You must show how the wiper motor is fixed, gear mechanism etc. Further you should show how you fix this into a gate door Then only the viewers will be benefitted. Now of course you are benefitted by everyone watching your video
Wow your welding time / weld strength ratio, is going to be the worst on the planet. Why not just chase a puddle for an inch, and be done with it? Don't even add any filler. And your weld would be 10x stronger.
These videos..... Omg.... "gate from a pipe or what ever". So I guess you don't need... : plate steel, a welder, bench grinder, drill press, work bench, vice, hole saw.... So sad that people put out these lies.
How about not using the AI voice it doesn't complete everything that should be said and it just lazy in my opinion but I do like the rest of the video that's a really neat build

"pull the cat by the bearings" is a joke but it dosnt work in translation... "pull" is the wrong verb, i think its supposed to be "hold". "bearings" is the wrong noun, it ether refers to "testicles" or it refers to a "tail"... i would like more information.

WOW!! This video is so educational. Thank you. Definitely will be doing quite a few of these ideas. 🙂

are you serious about welding?
Every day you upload a new video is a good day. Health and peace to you and your loved ones too.
Hello! Every time I upload a video, I know that I will see your kind comment! THANK YOU!
Nice invention. ❤ I guess I have to subscribe because I wasn’t bored and it is inspiring. Good job!

damn, i didn't know i needed a welder, until now. i need one. lmao
Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge.

I am very glad that you liked my idea. Thank you.😀🤝🤖
Hello, I seen a big tchig material to weld.
In this situation you need more power of amps. This cold wedlding mode you need by verify thin materials.
Well thought out and well made I like the welding technique is is just a tig welder
👍🤝🤖
You should have a welding course!!
Take some welding lessons then that tig welder will not be wasted.
Tig welding with no filler rod; I'd love to see some strength tests done. 🤨

A series of shallow spotwelds
That type of welding will fail a simple hammer test
Great job 👍🏻 👏 👍🏻 👏
Thank you! Come again, I'll be glad!🤝🤖
Amazing
what are you welding with?
always enjoy you videos and ideas.

This is awesome. Thanks for posting. I have a video that shows how to make a bracket for a chain link fence gate opener.
And thank you.🤝 I will definitely go and watch your video.👍🤖
I checked out a bunch of your other videos and definitely subscribed! Like your style!
This will take a week to open the gate 😂
This is all fantastic...
If you have a welder. Thanks.
😊🤝🤖

This will be available in India
Larger holes go slower, please explain through the video.
I like your welding machine. Did you make it or buy it? I'm interested.
"i'll be back soon" :)

Almost everybody on youtube has a tig welder these days.
But not the one I have! 🤖

È parlata in inglese
Never ever watch anything but fox news
This is not welding. Very weak tacks that look like crap.
Stop showing you welds in the videos, it damages peoples eyes.
Wear welding goggles when you watch my videos! 🤣
@@Doctor-Robo 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣I like your videos and welding glasses are too dark, please go easy on us.
Can't tell if joking or st00pid. 🤨
😂😂😂
You should not have shown your welding up close.
