Btw, I think that there is a way to always get stars in the spade game. 1. For the first piece, wait until you can only see half of the piece you want then press A (or whatever button) 2. For the second piece, wait until it is aligned with the first piece then press A 3. For the final piece, wait until half of the piece you want is offscreen on the right, then press A If you do it right, you should be able to always get stars
I kept thinking you guys were going to collide with each other, but there wasn't any collision. That had to mess with how you were both playing since often Mario and Luigi, etcetera, can't occupy the same space. Nice playing. This hack almost seems impossible for how good it looks to be Mario 1.. the creator/s did an amazing job. I'd love to see it beaten. I recognised level 4-3! It’s the goomba boot level from Super Mario Bros 3 bit with a twist! The original level in Super Mario Bros 3 had you going to the left, while in this game, you go to the right and removed to sub- area and made it one long version!
if I remember, I think for the spade game, you have to press A when the one you want is slightly left or right in the center, if its past or way before, you will get that respective peice
Apparently, this is the key to beating spade panels (button presses are assumed to be on whatever is in the middle): 1st row: Press the button *after* the item you want. 2nd row: Press the button *right on* the item you want. 3rd row: Press the button *before* the item you want. The person who made this hack may have changed that, so take this advice with a grain of salt.
My gf just went on a twenty something minute angry rant due to hating how corrupt humanity has become. I put this on to help her feel better. The way they did it was excellent and I am not knocking it whatsoever but had I made it, I would have done exactly this way but a few changes. For one, I would have done all the stages in Super Mario 3 with four extra stages (Super Mario 1) randomly put in between the stages of Super Mario 3. Furthermore, with the end castle, start out with Super Mario 1 but when you beat Koopa and talk to toad... have the only option to walk forward only to reveal Bowser's kid's castle linked to the end of Koopa's. Sort of a extra challenge with double the level length (with added time to make it fair)

Since I talked about Freedom Planet a lot, you should try this game out. It's like a mixture of Sonic the Hedgehog, Gunstar Heroes, Rocket Knight Adventures & Mega Man X.
I missed the co op, there honestly hilarious, and combined with this nostalgia filled hack makes for a great video, make sure you let a like a subscribed!
I bet this game uses a moddified smb3 engine,but not all features were supported such as scrolling up or down,so some levels had to be comprimized to get around that such as the karibu shoo level, Trough it might be possible that they did used an upgraded smb1 engine but i cannot imagine why they would go that hard route as it would,ve take sooo much more work to add those extra features into it,, Now am sure they can port this game to a real nes by adding the mmc3 chip and adding 8K (or more) extra chr ram to offloud animated tiles straigth into the nes ram to get around the 256 tile limit ,because each specific tile needs to be animated in sequence with the rest, and many identical objects such as clouds, trees etc,,, needs to have it’s own animated pixels as well to match specefic backgrounds from certain levels, so you can imagine how complicated that is,and since 32X32 (or way more) tiles are needed to allow 1024 possible combinations to create the ellusion of multi scrolling backgrounds, that’s why bankswitching tile sets on the fly or offloading tile sets from the extra ram can be very nesecarry,battle toads is a prime example of this,, So it’s not impossible to do.
