Love lining the cabinets. Since you are able to remove the top shelf, you can use that to measure your liner size. That makes the process easier, since it already fits in the cabinet. I use the Drymate shelf and cabinet liners and undersink liners, they are thick and easy to clean.
I love the chat you and Ivon have with each other. You did such a throughly good job on your cabinetry, but I had to smile when Leo climbed in. I imagined him in the cabinet saying “My new den is just the purrrfect size”. Such a shame your China showed so positive for lead. An idea to repurpose some of it would be to turn the tea cups upside down and glue the small side plates to the top of them using the gorilla glue. This would turn it into a display stand, with the cup as the base. Then you could use them to display your summer decor. You could also use the jugs to put small bunches of flowers in and the sugar bowl for potpourri.
29 years in my house. We bought used golden oak cabinets at that time, and hubster put them in. I never put in shelf liner. What was i thinking? I helped my daughters do theirs. I had to come home, empty MY cabinets and drawers and put Contact paper on. What a difference !! I got a pattern that looks like granite. Easy to wipe out. I just love to open the cupboards and drawers. (Organize and purge of course) How does it get so dirty.????
I was thinking you missed few spots on the wall but it turns out my laptop screen is a bit grubby haha. The joys of a touch screen. Ivon and Leo were so cute!! He is feisty! I love that. haha. Hugs to all
Hi Karen. A website called Lead Safe Mama has lots of information on lead in dishware and cookware. She did lab testing different from lead test kits you can buy. I had let another you tuber know about this website. I found out my old Correlle plates had lead. Erica Lucas a you tuber similar to your channel did a video on testing her channel. I'm just passing this information along as I was unaware it was in my dishes and some Corning ware I had. Keep up the great videos.
Everything takes me a long time to do. I like to clean my walls with a bucket of dawn dish soap and hot water. Sometimes I use the method wood cleaner on my kitchen cabinets. It’s smells like almonds.
I actually saw a video about it (very coincidental, since I didn't know what a Stanley cup was). They explained that there is a piece of lead on the bottom. There is a little circle there, where the lead is behind. As long as that circle on the bottom isn't broken, there is no problem and you cannot come in contact with the lead.
I cleaned under my stove drawer thanks to Jodi Dunn - but my Lupus didn’t like that - can’t walk well today - won’t be doing that again- Leo was hiding from ivon lol
I’ve got the same lead test as you . I checked all my grandparents china and none is coming up with lead. This worries me that it’s not working. Something would have to have lead
Lead is only problematic if you eat it. Typically, it is worse if you are using acidic foods (tomato sauces, wine, pop/soda, etc.). In inert solid form, it doesn't cause issues. Like a coin/jewelry jar. But if for the sake of your peace of mind it needs to go, then it needs to go. ♡
Any of the stainless steel cups have lead. It's part of the stainless steel process. HOwever, it should never test positive for lead as it is well below the level for harm to humans.

You could use one of the plates and make it a wall clock, I think they sell clock movement kits at craft stores 😊

I've been cleaning the top of my cabinets and putting liners up there hopefully it will be easier to clean next time

My grandma always had news paper up there - she threw it away a few times a year and lined it new. Might be helpful for you!? 😊
I use vinegar and baking soda and warm water to clean cupboards and I use that when I wash the floor

Did you see on Grove that Mrs meyers has the glass bottles and you can just buy the small concentrates like grove does.

I like the method stuff but the Antibac sprays are SO strong. They have me choking when I use them so they better kill all the germs. lol.
