So instead of "accomplishing " much much more , you are maintaining and adding a bit more ... but with much less stress and more joy ! Sounds like a win Shannon.
Thank you so much! I really like that we are doing this while they are young and at home so we can see them all the time. When they get older and move out maybe that is when we will work outside of the house, who knows...
Thanks for the update, I am glad Grant is able to be at home with you and the kids more. My husband has worked from home (he's in sales) for the last 22 years and it's been great! People ask me if I like having him there and I always say absolutely! The flexibility is great, especially when kids are little. Happy for you guys!
My husband works from home and it is such a blessing. He can help with school pick ups and drop offs. He can be around so if a kiddo gets sick. And I love having my family under one roof after school and weekends. And my husband and I get to walk together everyday. I am sober grateful. This was a great video!! Congratulations ❤️
Oh, my, Shannon. It seems like you have a whole lot more on your plate, now. I know that when my husband retired (and was home 24/7) it was a BIG adjustment for me! And a whole lot more work for me. Good luck - I hope it all turns out the way you had hoped! 🙋♀️🥰‼️
Thank you for sharing this! Your voice is smiling! You sound so happy and content. I’ve been following you for a long time. You have and always will give me motivation. I love you and your family. So glad Grant is able to work from home. Can’t wait for the new videos!
I am so happy for both you and Grant. It's wonderful to hear you both get along so well since he is home all the time. I'd love an update everyone 6 months or so. I'm really looking forward to the photo (pictures) video with your mom. Thanks, Shannon. Have a wonderful afternoon. 💛
I am so pleased for you both that it is all working out. You have been very sensible in having a year’s salary in savings, you have definitely worked hard. My husband works from home as well and it has been great for our three sons as well especially as we are a homeschool family, it has allowed us to have quality time together. Look forward to all the coming videos!
2-3 hrs of travel time where we life is also the average. It's a lot of travel time. I'm happy you and Grant could make it work to bring him ho e to work.
Hey Shannon congratulations to you guys for transitioning Grant being home. This is very relatable. My husband quit his job and started working from home as well. I just started my own channel, but as you said it's not monetized yet. But having my husband home has been so nice!! At first I wasn't sure how it was going to go as it was different, but I love it. Expectations can get the best of you, but in reality it's been very nice to my husband home as well. However he works on cars, so he's in and out.
So happy for you! We used to have a monetized channel but after we had quite a following, a few bad apples made life living hell by endangering our young children... We had to quit our lifestyle blog and vlog... Huge financial hit but we wouldn't sacrifice our children's safety! Its been a few years and I'm playing with the idea of starting a new channel without any video of my children... But yeah, its hard! I miss my husband being home full time... So trying to figure out how to make that happen!
Wow! I have seen that happen to different creators. That is one of the other reasons I stopped my vlog channel even though my kids have never really been a part of my channel.
Hi Shannon, I loved hearing about your life as content creators. It’s super interesting. I’m looking forward to the videos with your mom decluttering her photos. I’m currently doing the same thing and it is a huge task! On another note, I tried your banana bread recipe and used applesauce in place of the oil. I’m sure it’s more flavorful with oil, but it’s also good with applesauce in place of the oil. Thank you for the recipe. I plan to make it a regular! 😊
Thank you so much! I have been thinking of trying the applesauce ever since you mentioned it LOL. That is awesome that it turned out good, it will be way healthier that way too.
@@shannontorrens1 the texture and flavor will be different without the oil so I’m not sure how your family will feel about it. 😂 I think it is so nice when you reply. Your mom and I could be friends so it’s like you’re my friend’s daughter! 😂
I believe I’m already a subscriber to Grant’s channel, but I will go make sure. I will also start watching all his videos as I enjoy that type of thing. I’d love a budget video also. I saw you would do one for members however right now I can’t afford to be a member of my favorite RUclipsrs unfortunately, but I definitely support and love your channel. I love all the renovations also!! And your mom!!!!😊
I completely understand not being able to be a member. The only reason why I wouldn't do a main video on that topic is because I don't really talk about money on my channel so I would guess the majority of my audience wouldn't be very interested. =)
Hello, if you are serious about starting a channel then I really recommend Lisa's course. She has one on blogging, one on doing YT and then she has them both as a combo option. I have taken both and I can say that her YT course is excellent. She starts from step one (making a channel) and goes all the way through to how to make money and grow a following. It's a very thorough course.
It's a fun job, but lots of work too. It's funny because I used to hear people say do something you love as a job and it won't feel like work. That is exactly how this is for me. I could work on all this stuff 24 hours a day because I really like it. =)
Congratulations - All the hard work paid off, what a great accomplishment! I love your channel, have been a subscriber for quite a while. I immediately subscribed to your husband's channel when it was announced. Love his channel, he's so amusing. It's so good to hear that you have reached your goals and are improving on them. Your mom needs a channel, she has a great sense of humor. Look forward to the photo organization.
I love you and your Chanel Shannon, and will of course watch and subscribe to Grants channel to support you🤗 I’m sure it’s great to🤗 Please do an update like this now and then and please talk more about frugality🙏🤗 And more about your Norwegian heritage! So much fun for us Norwegian subscribers😃🇳🇴
Thanks for the family life update. Love your content. I commented on Grant’s channel about not being able to search by title and find his channel on my tv app.
I love your channel Shannon ❤ I’ve learned a lot from you I can’t wait to see your front yard transformation ❤ More power to your channel Your almost 100K subscribers ❤😊
Definitely interested to hear how things are going with your progress! Growing Grant's channel seems like it would be difficult although I know you have been successful. Best wishes!
I had a vision of all that I could accomplish after I retired. Well, I can do more things, but I can’t begin to accomplish everything I envisioned I could.
Hello, The course is self-paced so you can do it as quickly or slowly as you want. When I took it I would go section by section and take notes then I would implement what she was saying to do. I know some people have gone through the whole course once and then they went back and implemented everything after they went through the whole thing. If I remember right I think it took me about a month to go through it all and do everything at the same time, but I was only doing the course on the nights, early mornings and weekends at that time.
The commute (2 hrs ea way) sounds horrific, just make sure your family has medical insurance. That’s actually our biggest expense, more so than housing. It’s crazy.
Yes! Insurance is so expensive. We go through covered CA and have had to pay this way since 2011. No one Grant has ever worked for provided insurance =)
I think a helpful video for content creators would be on how to present content in a clear and concise manner while avoiding long tedious introductions as well as over sharing…minimalist sharing. I’m so turned off by content that gives info that is unnecessary or not of concern. Public speaking 101
I learned over time it's best to just start the video LOL. A lot of content creators explain who they are and an outline of the whole video when they could have just started the video.
Yes! This course starts from square one. It teaches you how to start a blog from nothing, how to write a post, how to get traffic, how to make money from your blog and a lot more. =)
It depends on what course you decide on, if you click the link there is a lot more information on what the course includes and if it would be a good fit. What I loved is this course starts from the very beginning so you can literally start from nothing and she teaches you how to create a blog.
I love it when you do videos with your mom….I’m left smiling the rest the day!!!
Yay! We will have a few coming up soon.
So instead of "accomplishing " much much more , you are maintaining and adding a bit more ... but with much less stress and more joy ! Sounds like a win Shannon.
Yes! It's like we might accomplish less growth in the beginning, but our quality of life is better.
I enjoyed the magic drawer space bit. Whatever you do, don't declutter the children! It's good to see your family so happy and having fun together.
I would love to see budgeting and frugality videos from you asking with your current content. What a wealth of knowledge you must be!
Yes would love to see that too and looking forward to the video about photos
Wow thank you, I can only speak to what is working for us. I will make sure to do a member video about this. =)
You are not just great content creators, you are also brilliant role models and wonderful parents! Your adorable children are so lucky to have you 💝🙂
Thank you so much! I really like that we are doing this while they are young and at home so we can see them all the time. When they get older and move out maybe that is when we will work outside of the house, who knows...
I enjoy watching you and your Mom and how she is downsizing as an older person compared to you and your family as younger people.
Thank you! I agree it makes our schedules really flexible =)
Yes. I’d be interested in updates on how it’s turning out and how it’s going with the new stuff.
I always enjoy your videos! Glad to hear about your husbands channel, too!
Thank you so much!
Congratulations on making the change. Your kids are blessed to have both of you so available. That is love.
Oh, my, Shannon. It seems like you have a whole lot more on your plate, now. I know that when my husband retired (and was home 24/7) it was a BIG adjustment for me! And a whole lot more work for me. Good luck - I hope it all turns out the way you had hoped! 🙋♀️🥰‼️
Shannon, I absolutely LOVE your hair in this video!
came here to same the same. Not sure what is different but it looks great
Good morning Shannon!
Love your channel! And what a new adventure for your family!❤
I am looking forward to seeing what you do with the front yard because your backyard changes have been beautiful!!
Thank you for sharing this! Your voice is smiling! You sound so happy and content. I’ve been following you for a long time. You have and always will give me motivation. I love you and your family. So glad Grant is able to work from home. Can’t wait for the new videos!
I would love to get updates with how things are going.
I find this sort of content very interesting.
Love your videos, Shannon!

Thank you! My mom and I are going to film the photo video this week. Yay. I hope you have a great Sunday.

That’s wonderful you all are enjoying the new creative times in your lives !
Yes! Thank you!
A journey indeed! Thank you for explaining it so thoroughly and realistically🙂
Glad it was helpful!

Congratulations!
Thank you!
I love watching videos with you and your mom together! I laugh throughout the entire videos!! Lol
Love, Barb D
Thanks so much Barb =)

Thank you for all the links and information. I've been thinking about starting a channel but had no idea where to begin.

This would be my dream. I’ve always been intrigued with sharing my day and projects as a full time job.
It's a fun job, but lots of work too. It's funny because I used to hear people say do something you love as a job and it won't feel like work. That is exactly how this is for me. I could work on all this stuff 24 hours a day because I really like it. =)

Thank you so much!
Shannon, it was great to get an update on your's and Grant's new life.
Best wishes always.

Thank you so much! My Norwegian side is from my mom's side =)
Thanks for the family life update. Love your content. I commented on Grant’s channel about not being able to search by title and find his channel on my tv app.
It might be because his channel is so small. I notice small channels don't always pop up until they have a large following and lots of videos =)
This was great and interesting. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you!
Love all your videos!!
Yay! Thank you!
I love your channel Shannon ❤
I’ve learned a lot from you
I can’t wait to see your front yard transformation ❤
More power to your channel

I had a vision of all that I could accomplish after I retired. Well, I can do more things, but I can’t begin to accomplish everything I envisioned I could.
That is exactly what I did! I thought I would magically have a huge amount of time that wasn't previously there hahaha
The joy of being handy your husband can take random contracts when he chooses. Great work ❤ cannot wait to see more awesome content.
Thank you!! 😊
Love your channel 😊❤️
Thank you so much!!
Loved the part where he's pulling the kids out of the cabinetry. Such a clever idea. haha
That was his idea lol!
Grant looks like he has a great sense of humour.
I think he is funny =)
Why don't you have a link to Grants RUclips channel?
Hello Kelley, I do have a link to it in the description box. It's about halfway down and in the description box I called it Grant's Channel. =)
How long did it take to get through her courses? I want to do it

So does this course teach you the technical parts of it, too? I don’t know how to do website creation, etc.
Yes! This course starts from square one. It teaches you how to start a blog from nothing, how to write a post, how to get traffic, how to make money from your blog and a lot more. =)
What is name of Grant’s RUclips channel?
Hello, it's called Wood Glueru =)
My husband started his own business from home about 1.5 yrs ago and we have less time in the day now 😂
I can see that happening too LOL. It's a lot of work! =)
What is the name of Grant's channel?
Wood glueru
wood gluero
Yes his Channel is called Wood Glueru, it's about wood projects, DIY, and Home Improvements =)
How much are the courses?
It depends on what course you decide on, if you click the link there is a lot more information on what the course includes and if it would be a good fit. What I loved is this course starts from the very beginning so you can literally start from nothing and she teaches you how to create a blog.
I didn't know that your husband had a chanel... whats it called and ill subscribe.
Thank you! His channel is called Wood Glueru and there is a link in the description box. =)
Do you plan on Preschool when Levi is 3?
Probably =) My other two boys went to preschool and loved it! Usually around 3.5 to 4 years old though.
❤
I really enjoy Woodgluru and Grant’s subtle dry humor.
Thank you for the support =)
