If there's any addicts here thinking of getting clean, you can do it. I used to be a homeless, IV drug user for years living in a tent behind a graveyard. I used to make jokes that id be moving over there soon. I've gotten my life back on track. I have a job, and custody of my kids. U just have to make the conscious decision to stop for u. Not cuz mom dad or gf says u have to.

Antidepressants at 18-29. 31 now. I took way to much, but took about 20g of Gold caps (Psilocybin containing mushroom) I analyzed my entire life. The emotions that came out helped me understand behavior etc more. Wont ever need to do it again because I'm happy and contempt forever, but I wish more people did this to alter their perception of reality. Would help with healing much trauma

I live in a small town where there has been a ton of community backlash over the "types of people" it will bring around. They call them junkies or "zombies." LSD and mushrooms completely changed my whole outlook on life. I became a better version of myself
This experience gave me a lot of confidence about my self and my body. A bunch of bad thought / behavior patterns were broken. One of these was pretty bad OCD that made me wash my hands a lot. It gave me a lot of hope that things will be fine, this is the one thing that I heard throughout the trip: Everything is alright. The main reason for the trip was my severe depression and it definitely helped me (although it's not gone). Before all I could do was lay in bed. I've had fentanyl administered in a hospital setting as a local anaesthetic. It was a pretty unremarkable experience - I mostly spent the time after my surgery drifting in and out of sleep since I had woken up pretty early to get to the hospital. Ultimately it was a tiny tiny dose. It definitely has its uses as a local anaesthetic, though I suppose it depends on where you are when it comes to how much you're being administered. My dose wasn't enough to give me any kind of euphoria.

This drug is so strong that it causes your tolerance to skyrocket. You start off taking less than 1mg & wind up taking more than 40mgs. Also, it has an incredibly short half life (10 minutes for some analogs), meaning that you have to re-dose constantly to keep yourself from slipping into withdrawal. Average short acting Opioids have little effect once your body has adjusted to such a powerful drug. From a purely practical standpoint, the addiction caused is completely unmanageable, & the euphoria is minimal compared to other opiates (heroin, Oxycodone). Don't even go there with this mess, it's a one way ticket to unstoppable withdrawal. If it doesn't kill you, you're going to wish you were dead.

Bradley Mcdonald I just smoke weed now like I’ve been doing even before my Xanax addiction. I’m 7 months clean now and coming off Xanax and smoking weed was a horrible combo. Had very intense panic attacks and some seizures from Xanax withdrawals. I did it all alone too didn’t tell anyone and my mom didn’t notice she just didn’t know why I was so withdrawn from her and staying to myself. I always stayed in bed never really ate I’d get up shower and go back to bed usually. Suffered many seizures I remember one time I had 3 in a 17 hour period. Now I’m 7 months clean I just smoke weed and I’ll always feel some sort of guilt in my heart for my friend. Im not one for religion but I do pray to god as much as I can. Especially on good days to thank him for allowing me to stay in this world even through all of my irresponsible decisions. On August 27, 2020 my older brother Jimmy died at 22 from taking a fake percocet laced with fentanyl. We shared a room and I woke up to my mom screaming "he's not moving". Cocaine, fentanyl, oxycontin, alcohol, nicotine and weed was what he took that night. He always hid his drug use from me. I knew he did blow because of the excessive bathroom breaks and the sound of him chopping his lines in the bathroom. That night I remember saying to him: "you're a fiend". He brushed it off by saying "how?" in a confident tone because he thought he was so slick. I didn't respond after that because I didn't know what to say to him. The responding EMS gave him 5 hits of narcan, etc. yet it was too late. He didn't take pills often. He was offered them by his friend and plug. I regret not being able to make him the happiest he could be. My brother was my best friend. The real issue is when doctors prescribe pain medications long term which some people do legitimately need then the DEA cracked down on all of that cause apparently people who live with chronic severe pain should just live with it which of course they don’t because they can’t now that they got used to living life normally without pain plus it only gets worst when you stop taking the stuff so those people have to seek out the medication on there own and that’s what leads to people either hooked on harder stuff like fentanyl cause it’s cheap and easy to get or they get it by mistake thinking it’s something else and they either end up hooked on it or strait up overdose getting one thing and it turning out to be fentanyl

Prior to surgeries I was prescribed norco, Percocet, and oxy, up until I was given fentanyl I never once craved the feeling of pain killers and could come off cold turkey with no issues. After having fentanyl a few times in the hospital, the addiction after being released from the hospital was crazy. For those who doubt the power of Fentanyl: I have been dealing with an initial diagnosis of Leukemia at 15 and the removal of my Large Intestine at 16. This means I have been exposed to crazy amounts of opioids during my life, and I still take regular doses of Hydromorphone to cope with the pain.
When I have to get my Nephrostomy tubes (tubes that plug straight into my kidneys), they have to hit me up with fentanyl to keep me in a relaxed state.
This is coming from someone whose entire medical history spans the entire recent opioid epidemic from 2013 to the present…and those aren’t even the hardest drugs they’ve given me. Back during my initial chemotherapy for cancer, they had to take bone marrow samples from my spine, and per pediatric protocol, they sedated me with actual ketamine. That shit was crazy.

I don’t remember talking to anyone and I don’t know how it got in me but my wallet and phone were with this guy from our neighborhood. Why did I go crazy for so long when most people just pass out? Thanks

I was prescribed fentanyl as a small child due to a large surgery. The doctors apparently argued a lot about if they should just let me go cold turkey(because I wouldn’t remember) or let me slowly come off of it. They did something in between. I wonder if it has anything to do with the terrible mood disorder I’ve had since as long as I can remember. Anyone else mentally messed up after spending most of their infant time on fent? I’ve been curious about this

I was addicted to this stuff for years. The worst part about it was how fast it left your body “half-life”. I could get some at 6 pm and be in withdrawal by midnight. It was hell to keep from being dopesick. Plus how expensive it was made it a hassle as well. I’m 5 years clean now. And I’m so glad I don’t live my life like that anymore. Don’t know how many times I’d spend the whole day looking for some just to be ran around through town all day and have it fall through and swear I’d had enough and wouldn’t live like that anymore just to wake up and do it again the next day.

@Makayla P Indeed, they were giving you too much. They have this crazy idea that if _they_ are in control of the dosing you are more likely to get an appropriate dose and less likely to overdose. The truth is, that with legal opioids in measured quantities, the best judge of how much to take is you. Everyone responds a bit differently, so simply knowing your weight and info about liver and kidney function, is not sufficient to estimate the best dose. After you do that, you take a little less, about 1/2 as much, and see if it works. With fentanyl you only have to wait 5 or 10 minutes and you'll see what's happening. Most likely it won't be enough, so you keep taking a little more every 10 minutes until the fentanyl has dealt with your pain. Then you take just a little more, and then you STOP. The idea is to get just enough, and then a tiny bit more, to get over the pain. You don't want to go into "wow I"m feeling great" land. You want to go into "thank glob for modern medicine and there is something to help me be able to get up and to to the bathroom without agonizing pain, or be able to watch a movie on the video screen without agonizing pain stopping you from being able to enjoy it. By the way, the fact that you can see what is happening, after only 5 minutes, with ORAL DOSING, is what makes fentanyl better than oral morphine. With oral morphine you'll have to wait 40 minutes to an hour to see if the amount you took is going to give you adequate pain relief.

I no longer allow them to give it to me without a family member present. It feels like losing the will to live. Yes the pain stops, and yes you feel relaxed, but you also feel incredibly tired and like you cannot get in a full breath of air. I honestly think if left alone on it I would happily fall asleep and die even knowing that would be the most likely outcome. Fentanyl is insane.

Thank you for this video. I've been on a mission to try and educate people about addiction and opioids. Many are resistant and cling on to the idea addiction is a moral failing and addicts can just stop doing drugs through will power.

Fentanyl crisis is getting so out of hand. I've seen too many kids get hooked on pressed "oxycodone" pills. I was an oxycodone addict for almost 5 years from age 15 to 19. I'm so thankful that I quit them cold turkey when I did, because I almost indefinitely would be on pressed oxycodone just like so many people are getting into now. The issue with the opiate crisis is how easy it used to be to get pain killers prescribed to you/sold to you. Now they are a lot harder to get, and are more expensive than cocaine. So what do people do? Well they can either spend $30-50 for a pill, or they can get a pressed oxycodone (fentanyl) for less than 5 bucks, or do straight fentanyl or heroin for cheaper prices. If pain pills were given out like methadone and suboxone, it would help people through withdrawal, it would make pain pills cheaper. Suboxone and Methadone withdrawals are as bad/worse than heroin withdrawals. If recovering addicts could taper off or do something safer, and cleaner there wouldn't be a huge fentanyl problem right now.

Viva La Vanna they are both downers (xanax and fentanyl) and i think, combining different downers such as benzos with opioids is far More dangerous than, i.e Coke and heroin. I know by experience.

I was addicted to heroin for 12 years. In 2019 when I was prepping to quit. Every dealer I had suddenly had fentynal. Not only that where as I needed $100 dollars a day for my H habit, I only needed $30 bucks for the same effect in "fetties". It's much cheaper. It's much much MUCH STRONGER. AND in this decade it's going to replace heroin entirely. I know it. I had such a high tolerance by the end of my addiction I can't even imagine the effect it would have on someone without a tolerance. They would literally be close to death.

I was administered fentanyl at harbor view medical center in Seattle after I had a jeep flip, and crush my arm. This drug, is by far the scariest, most intense drug I’ve ever used.
Not being able to make sense if you’re awake and hallucinating or just dreaming. I remember seeing the walls of the hospital room turn towards me as if they were being folded like empty cardboard boxes being broken down.
Luckily, I was able to come out of that experience alive, and even more terrified of the drug than I was when I first got to the hospital.
