    Since you don’t have a depth Finder, it may be more productive to rig your bait Texas style. You can work your bait slower and not snag on the unknown grass and logs.

    Side imaging is amazing for a kayak to help find structure faster and eliminate dead water quicker. Helix 7 side imaging is worth every penny

    Good job bro. I have an Autopilot, so I know Old Towns are rugged, strong, and heavy. I spent my 1st season on a small 500 acre lake. Nine minutes is awesome!! 🌊 🛶 🎣

      Thank you!
      I'm sure glad to have the pedal drive, but on those bigger lakes... I think about my choice not to get the AP a lot.

      @@NWTrailSeries I actually just purchased mine in March 2023. I loved my PDL drive 120. I purchased a nice Harbor freight trailer. And it stays on the trailer in my garage. After I rinse it down. But any 120 Oldtown, is heavy. But I think they're best boats out there. Stay safe my friend. 🙏 🌊 🛶

      We both got into fishing at the same time. I felt unfaithful, the guilt was obviously eating me up lol. Plus.. he was at work...
      On Tuesday we are trying some crank baits and top water for the first time. (Funny you should mention) any specific crankbaits you recommend? Figured we would get get an early start and try to have a little top water contest in the morning

    Nice. I’m gonna do the same thing tomorrow. However, I don’t understand the reason for the water boots. That seems uncomfortable and heavy. A pair of river shoes is all you need

    • @NWTrailSeries
      @NWTrailSeries  Год назад

      I did change to comfy shoes once I got out on the lake and avoided getting wet entirely. I got a bunch of lake sludge/scum in my river shoes last time I was out, and they just haven't ever smelled the same since. I'll try it out a few more times before giving too much more of an opinion, but so far, it feels like a pretty big upgrade.

    You don't need electronics, you need to learn how to fish topwater lures. Lot of spots here that scream for a plopper or a buzz bait.

    • @NWTrailSeries
      @NWTrailSeries  Год назад +1

      I have added poppers to my arsenal, and am having great luck so far. Haven't tried a buzzbait yet though, ill add that too

      @@NWTrailSeries That's great, I wish you success with topwater fishing, it's so much fun. If you are lucky enough to find places rarely fished, try a small whopper plopper it's really a bass magnet.
