  • This is a 2014 Triumph Bonneville T100 that I was considering for a 2nd bike. Bottom line, I went in not knowing a single thing about this bike other than it looked classic and cool - and it impressed the heck out of me, no joke. WAY more power than I was expecting and very useable in all RPM ranges. Absolutely modern Japanese build quality, very good. Solid, smooth, incredible value for the money IMO.

I own a 2016 Bonnie, same model and color scheme. I know these are his first impressions so I'll give him a break but this bike is absolutely begs to be taken into the canyons. You can easily carve up the twisties on this bike. It has a generous lean angle (not sure of the numbers). I did buy a set of Continental road attack 3 tires and it made a huge improvement in the cornering and handles like a dream. It also has an excellent power band with great pull throughout. This bike is a blast to ride!! I concur with this gentleman, the pea-shooter pipes sound like a sewing machine and look like a small snake swallowed a BIG sausage!! British Customs has a slip on that is well engineered for this bike called the Predator Pro. I have it on my Bonnie and there was a huge improvement in sound and looks, not to mention a slight bump in performance after having the dealer re-map the ECU. I've been riding for almost 35 years, and this bike is every bit as engaging, and enjoyable as any bike I've owned. Although it's suitable for beginning riders it is NOT just a beginners bike. Putting it in a box like this is a disservice to the bike! If you're in the market for an all around solid bike, reasonably priced, I highly recommend this bike!!

Excellent review 👏 thanks Daniel hard to beat experience when reviewing any bike.
The Bonneville is arguably one of the most iconic motorcycles in the world .
Anyone who rides a Bonneville, young or old, male or female can only be put into one box COOL.

I think I've just fallen in love with this bike! I'm 16 and I really want to buy a bike for college. B4, I thought that I definitely wanted a sports bike like a cbr or a ninja, but I've fallen in love with the cafe racers. Just the combination of the beautiful retro and classical style, comfort, and power is simply captivating. I know some people say to start on like a 300 but I think I can handle it :)

I have the same motorcycle (year and color scheme as well). Only difference is mine has a fly screen. I've taken mine
on day trips and long road trips and it does not disappoint. I agree that a little rumble from the pipes would be nice but
I can live with what Triumph provides as stock. If you can only have one motorcycle and you aren't inclined to do any
off road riding . . . you can't go wrong with a Triumph Bonneville.

I have this bike in UK and had the Triumph upgraded pies which sound cool and pops on overrun. Also had the King & Queen seat fitted as well. A great ride and reminds me of my old Bonneville of the 70,s

I keep drooling on the Thruxton. I've test rode one at least 5 times. The only drawback is the sitting position. I keep thinking it's going to kill my back on longer rides. Cheers, ~Hilman

I had the America and the Speed Master I took both over the Tail of the Dragon two up with out trouble and turned around did the Trail of tears and ended up in Gulf Shores Alabama all in the same ride. With out a break down. I put over 60,000 on both bikes before I sold them and there was no engine problems with ether one. And I still have my 98 Thunder Bird.

I had a 1983 TRIUMPH TSX in the late eighties. This looks and seems to ride similar. But I agree do agree with you on the exhaust thing. It doesn't sound meaty enough to me. Is that true or just seem that way because of the position of your camera?

Sir: I bought a Royal Enfield 500 as a first bike. I was drawn to the simplicity and style and it ended up being a good choice for me, it has served me well for 3 years now. After watching this review I am tempted to upgrade to this bike. I like the retro, British styling, like the Enfield.. but it seems far more capable. Am I off course here? Do you think it would be a good upgrade? I am looking for more freeway/distance capability.

I've a 71 Bonnie , Gregg, and the oil leak on yours makes me wonder if with the modern Triumph it has been factored in to the design to honour the original ...not sure it has, but sounds like you've been fortunate in sourcing a rare one

Not impressed with that bike. Never ridden one, but did sit on one at the dealership. I did not like the seat at all, and further examination of the bike revealed poor fit and finish (tank was crooked, cheap looking switchgear, etc). Anyway, great review and good to hear your thoughts as you ride it.
