Awesome instructions and details . Super appreciate the time you took to do this. My FA 82 didn’t work until I followed your video and set the correct gap.
Thats great to know! Glad something I said was helpful. I learned by doing the same, checking out what others are doing. Good luck with the engine. Thanks!
Had the same issue with my saito 125. As soon as i adjusted the valve lash it ran great. I also did the same with my saito 62 as well straight after break in and i noticed the gap was out.
Hey James. Not sure if I missed it but can you share the story on the little werewolf (I think) in the background of your videos. Must be something interesting, I’m sure.
Haha, well I felt I needed a mascot when I started the channel and I found that it was a good way to add little bits of information along the way if I make a mistake or point out something that I forgot when Im editing the videos. Maybe Ill mention this in an upcoming video. Im not completely crazy, but he is helpful at times!
Ill be back on it this weekend, getting the front lower block and landing gear plate on. Not gonna use the wire gear supplied in kit. I have a landing gear set left over from the Great Planes Escapade crash that will look good, I think. Its a slow process with the vids. This thing would have been done months ago. Still trying to find a good balance with my time on this stuff. I need to actually get out and do some flying. That will be the Piper after I do the engine test run. Hope you are getting some build and fly time, its hard to fit this stuff in with everything else going on.
The Escapade gear is two pieces, but each is solid. A single solid would be best, like the one I put on the Revolver. But Ill do this for now and try not to land too hard.
I've got a set of one piece alluminum gear from a tower hobby uproar 60 kit I built a long time ago that I never used that you can have if you want to use it I think I even have the good heavy duty axles in them already and it just uses 3 screws!
Thanks for the offer Steve. But I think Ill try the Escapade gear since they are 40 size and look like a nice fit. I appreciate your offer. You can probably sell that gear on ebay if you think you wont use it. Thanks again for the offer, I appreciate it.

Good explanation for value adjustment!
Thanks I was unsure if I was gonna try this video. Hope it useful for some.

Thanks, they can be a little finicky for sure. But when they run right, they are sweet.
Not sure if I missed, but how is the valve gear lubricated? And if it's not lubricated, doesn't that cause wear?
Hi, the fuel has oil in it, usually 18 to 20%. So as the engine is running its all being lubricated.

@@JamesRCPlaneTech I think it adds interest and humour! Keep it up!
Thanks!
Too loose ,the fela gauge should be tighter as u drag it ,I'm a mechanic
How tight? I try to set it so it drags through without biting. It’s definitely tricky. But I do make sure it has no play in it.
How's that smoothie coming along?

Yeah I would put the alluminum landing gear on too cause those wires bend pretty easy!
