Noticing the 2x and 4x speeds 😔
One of my biggest complaints with self park is the amount of time it takes to complete. Most of the time i just take over due to how long it takes especially when there are others around.
Yes, backing into a parking spot is *very* *slow* with Autopark. In a busy parking lot, other people will be mad at you.
Autopark cannot pull straight into a parking spot. And if you are putting groceries in the trunk, pulling in straight is the best option.
The manual says it will only do perpendicular and parallel parking, but not angle parking.

Thanks for the insights! BTW, Chuck Cook's car was going into the path of an incoming car while parking, until he hit the brakes. It seems that the self-park code DOES NOT watch for moving traffic.
I was self-parking at Target to pick up my order. While the car was backing into space it kept putting itself in Drive and going fwd then would go back to Reverse and try again. After doing this the 2nd time I tried to see what was wrong after I figured out it was not trying to straighten itself up. I saw the Target guy behind the sign that shows where to park for pickup. The car was picking him up as a pedestrian in the parking lot and would not park. I rolled down the window and he was like "are you having car trouble" and I explained my car was picking him up even though I did not. He moved and the car completed the self-park.

@@iowatesla for me it was more annoying. I mean, everyone does not know about what a Tesla vehicle is capable of, but if you are standing behind/near a parking space that most modern cars are trying to back into... I just cannot help but to think that many people would catch on that they are activating something on the car. And why would you stand behind me in the parking space that I am trying to pull into anyway whether my car has sensors, cameras or not? That is what was scary. I guess I am putting too much faith in people nowadays, sensors and cameras are not new on cars. And it is hard for me to believe that people think nothing is wrong about standing in your blind spot
What you need to do - is go to a local grocery store and test in some real-world scenarios. Especially, those MF'ers that park on the line rather centering their car. Or the big trucks that have the massive mirrors that they never fold inward, so then you have to navigate to not hit said mirror. Overall though - pretty neat to see.
All of the grocery stores in my area have angled spots. But, agreed.

Great video! Is it just available for FSD or everyone will get it?
FSD V12.3.6 on a sept build date of 2018, does not show the Park Assist tab, in the Autopilot setting.
I just subscribed to full FSD, but I don’t have the latest version. Does anyone know how long it takes for the updates to come through?
Do you have FSD 12 for both of your Tesla 2021 & 2022? I have a 2022 Model Y LR software branch 2024.8.9 and still don’t have the FSD 30 Day free trial version 12
Too slow so I don't use it very often. Moving at 1mph isn't how anyone normally drives. Tesla has said they will speed parking up so I'll just wait until that happens.
If we have standard Tesla model Y (early 2022- Feb 2022) with USS (I believe), do we need to upgrade to FSD for this, or would this work for Standard Parking Assistance? Thanks so much, super helpful! ❤

I have a 2023 M3 w/no USS. Processor is AMD Ryzen w/HW3. I do not have a vision button. I have Park Assist and now very confused. Is this video only for Model Y vehicles
I don’t think so. Should work with HW3 Ryzen processors.
I will park myself, thank you. I don't need some software feature to park my car. Same goes with FSD to drive my car. These maybe nice, but not needed for me.
Can you operate the console with speech only or do you have to touch everything?
I believe you need to touch.
