- In this video I install and program the oem Mopar remote start kit: 82215050AB. This fits the 2017-2021 DS Ram models. Alpha OBD programing for 2013+ Ram Trucks.

Spot on. Made the install easy.
So my 18 already had a wire in this pin, but I don't see a connector anywhere near the hood latch. Nor does the latch have the plug (I just installed it)
Followed all the procedures and took it for a long drive after reseting the RF and it still saying remote start cancelled hood open
Can you set the timer for how long the truck runs.
Will this work with my 2016 ? Have the plug and it does have the 11 pin on harness

2017+ does not need the RF hub. The 2014 models still need the RF hub.

@@DanielPace92 That’s a myth. All 2013+ RF hubs are capable of remote start
@@david14fan realize it's and old post, but this is incorrect. The kits for 2013-2016 (each year is different part #, and 2016 is no longer available) comes with another RF Hub and Antenna to use for remote start and must be programmed for it to work and is a different part number from what @DanielPace92 used. I went thru it on my 2014 Tradesman. In 2017-2024 the 5 lug (Gen 4/Classic) Ram's, the RF hub and antenna is no longer required, so the kit was changed to a much simpler install.

Which wing? if you are talking about the wiring terminal braking, only way to fix it is cut the broken terminal off and get a new terminal.
I have a question i have a 2018 Ram i bought the same kit it has the connector from factory so i will just need to plug the connector and get to reprogrammed the keys right ?
Not necessarily. I also have the plug but my bcm connector was not populated. You have to check that first. If it's not populated you need to run the new harness and pin the wire in the bcm connector.
Trying to get remote start on my 2020 1500 classic. Trying to just ground pin 11 as seen on ramforums, but can’t seem to find a wiring terminal that will fit into the 11 slot. I’ve pulled a wire from a 2010 ram, also pulled an extra wire from under the hood, and order a connector kit offline and all seem to be too big for the slot. You have any idea where I might find a wiring terminal or info on that?
i've been looking around the shops in my place but cant find wiring terminal that will fit on the harness, have you find one online?
you said you have the wire and connector at the hood latch but it dead ended at the TIPIM ! do you know what slot and color the wire would come from in the TIPIM to run to the BCM ? I ask because I have the wire at the hood latch purple and white chaser and in slot 11 at the BCM as well ! Would i need to run a new wire from hood latch to the BCM that comes with the kit!?
If you have a wire in pin 11 on the BCM you should be fine to use the factory wiring. It never hurts to put the latch in, program it, and see if it works. If not then you just have to run the new wire.
So, what is the added value/benefit by being able to start the engine from a remote control?
Warm the vehicle up in the winter or cool it down in the summer before you get in to drive. Not that big of an issue when the vehicle is garage kept but for some of my other vehicles that do stay outside, it's nice in the winter to have it started and defrosted by the time you leave.
I have my ebay keyfobs (fobik) that I bought and got programmed by a locksmith. They start the truck but do not lock and unlock the doors. Do you think I can program them to lock and unlock the doors? Do I need a harness to do that? I appreciate your video. Thanks
any ram 2018+ needs a security bypass harness to program the keys as well as most jeep and dodge vehicles
Mine has a wire in the 11th pin already, and it's the same color as the oem remote start wire but I can't find the connector anywhere near the latch. Should I just run the wire harness and pull the one that's already in?

That's what the install directions say to do. I'm surprised though that the connector is MIA, but depending on year built and options I suppose it's possible. I will say it is taped up on the wiring harness under/behind the latch on the radiator support.

@@DanielPace92 just looked for the third time, and there was no connector anywhere. I ended up just installing the new wiring harness. Now to order a scanner so I can get it programmed! Thanks again!
@@DanielPace92 sorry to keep bugging you. I've got my obdlink plugged in and alfaobd purchased. I'm trying to follow your first step of changing the remote start present value to "yes", and every time I try and change the value it stays on "no". Is there a trick to this? I've got a 2018 2500 Tradesman
