    I mean I've always been more of a fan of older music but I never realized just how good early 2000s music was (kinda goes off a cliff at 05 though). Every song slaps through those first few years. Up there with like the mid-late 80s, or late 60s in terms of quality. Hope we can get into another golden era like that sometime soon.

    • @cranberryrosebud
      @cranberryrosebud 2 года назад +2

      I love late 60s music, not really like there are artists or songs I regularly listen to, but whenever a late 60s/early 70s song comes on, it immediately makes me happy, and I agree that early 2000s and mid 80s came closest to catching that same feeling (there are also 50s songs here and there that make me feel the same).
      This opinion is probably unpopular, but I feel like there was a dip in quality around the late 2010s, and it has gotten a little better since, so maybe it'll reach a peak again in a few years.

      Then there are 4 different people with different skills working in conjunction with each other to make the same thing
      That's why bands like The Beatles, Queen, Led Zeppelin, ACDC, RHCP, Weezer, The Rolling Stones, Dire Straits, Linkin Park, Fleetwood Mac, Radiohead, Cream, Green Day, GnR, Bon Jovi, Linkin Parkz etc won't be forgotten
      And if you even go to solo careers, those people were just on another level, come on those people were sooo experimental
      Clapton and Hendrix's guitar work (yeah Jimi Hendrix Experience but he came up with those guitar parts alone)
      Bob Dylan's lyrics
      Kenny Loggins' movie themes
      Steve Winwood and Stevie Nicks' singing
      Phil Collins' exceptional drum work
      Come on there's so much more
      I know two acts that are making music like this now
      Ten Tonnes(solo)(listen to Silver Heat)
      Royal Blood(duo)

    Before 2000 but I'll never forget when and where I was the first time I heard "forgot about Dre" the first song Eminem was featured on mainstream radio and it changed my life. I had sung my whole life till then (junior in high school) been in select choirs and performance groups and always had been into music but that put it on a whole different creative level. It was the first time I ever remember hearing something and thinking to myself I've NEVER heard anything like this before. From then on I opened my mind and ears to genre's of music I had shut out in the past and really took the time to learn and explore all types of music.

    The nostalgia blast hit me so fucking hard in this video. Much love and respect to the artists from this era for creating so much good music. Eminem, Linkin Park (R.I.P Chester), Coldplay, BEP, all the pop singers as well (PCD, Beyoncé, Rihanna, Shakira, Mariah, Pink), all the RnB artists (Usher, Chris Brown, Mario, JT). What legends. There will never be another decade like it.

We're practically the same age and I'm South American. Except for the Ashanti song, cause they played the rap part, wtf, all the other ones never played here. Janet Jackson, for example, never existed here in Brazil. Never played on radio stations, it was never easy to find CDs... I'm thankful for streaming apps of today.
