Finally a nice 800gs adventure version with a bigger tank capacity. This bike is going to destroy triumph and all competitors. Looking to see what touratech would add to it more accessories.

Yeah - 120% ready for adventure. Still room for individual needs. Touratech and Wunderlich will help there ;-)

The LouisIIXX JOCK STRAP Big mistake.
The BMW had the edge off road, but no longer. The Tiger XCx comes with a high end WP suspension. The guys who make KTM so great off road.
I came from an F-bike. (GT.) The F-motor is nothing to brag about. It does the job adequately, but buzzes while it does so. Doesn't sound particularly nice. And it doesn't like low rpms at all. They have a reputation for reliability, which is nice, but they're not even made by BMW. You're paying BMW money for a ROTAX. Why? It makes no sense. Nothing wrong with Rotax, but I don't want to pay BMW prices for a motor that somebody else makes. Basically, you're paying top dollar for a bunch of little round blue and white stickers.
The Tiger's triple is legendary for a good reason. Smooth, sounds wonderful, flexible, happy at any revs......just a brilliant motor. And with the new drive-by-wire system on the top end models it uses less fuel than the BMW, does so on REGULAR unleaded (no more premium), and you get CRUISE CONTROL.
The 800 GS has a separate bolt-on sub-frame. That's a cheaper way to manufacture it, but why should you accept corner-cutting on the basic backbone of a motorcycle that costs more than the competition? Money in BMW's pocket at YOUR expense. They ought to be ashamed of themselves.
I very nearly bought a GS last year, but got the GT instead. And then promptly regretted not getting an adventure bike. But it worked out for the best. The WP suspension and the cruise control made me take a serious look at the Triumph, and once I compared the bikes there was no contest. BMW has fallen behind.
My dealer sells BMW, Triumph and all the Italian brands. The same techs do the work on all the bikes. But the shop rate when they wrench on a BMW is nearly DOUBLE. That is standard. BMW thinks their sh*t doesn't stink. Maintenance and repair costs are absolutely outrageous.
