@@KeeperOfCliffsTone I was so surprised when that came out of a p bass, I take it you'd recommend the Morley Power everyday of the week then? I'm looking at getting the Morley Power Wah 20-20 and selling my Crybaby as a replacement, it's great for a Rob Trujillo tone tho
Toptrickers look at the description and very end of the video for my gear list...by far the best would be vintage power wah boost(if its in a working condition and not tempered with inside) but this cliff signature power wah fuzz with tube screamer style overdrive and some delay does wonders for this solo tone...i dont know if 2020 power boost wah is any good but 2020 fuzz wah is basically a mini version of this signature pedal so you cant really go wrong with it but you need aditional overdrive after it(either from a pedal or an amp)
This man plays the licks in call of ktulu with only hammer ons and pulloffs, he does not need his right hand, and for whom the bell tolls he used a effect cliff used live, spot on. Even "the mighty het" and ROBERTO AGUSTIN MIGUEL SAMUEL TRUJILLO VERACRUZ would approve. Rock on!!

thanks alot man, yeah its a beautiful sound...its awesome you are getting bass and that stuff from the very beginning i am sure you will have loads of fun, and with what you are getting yes you will be having very simmilar tone, just play around with settings a bit....echo comes from delay which cliff used as well but i enchance it a little more to get that atmospheric wavy sound..thanks for your comment and if you need any more help feel free to stay in touch ;)
@@KeeperOfCliffsTone You bet I will! Also, since you seem a bit worried about the sound quality in some of your other videos, this is a tip I got from watching some of my friends play guitar on video. If your amp has a headphone port or line out, you can either get a 1/4 to 3.5mm or 3.5mm to 1/4 adapter pretty cheap and just plug it into the microphone jack on your computer. Or, even better you can use this thing called an iRig which does an even better job of retaining the sound quality you'd hear from your amp.
Great job, brother! 👏🤩 I like how you enjoy playing it, just like Cliff himself. I've also read the comments below about your bass guitar and pedals. Your humble setup shows us all that the player is more important than the gear. I look forward to listen to more Cliff riffs from you in the future. 🤘😎🤘Greetings from Turkia!

Wow, this sounds exactly like Cliff's tone. I love this video, I'm just a bit disappointing you didn't do the bass solo from Orion XD. Good video nonetheless.
LRock4332 thank you so much! Orion solo is tricky because there are three bass tracks(one is rhythm and two leads in harmony) and also because it requires a 24 fret bass starting with a massive bend on a 24th, and my bass has only 20 so it would not be as impressive if i did an octave lower, thanks for your comment i highly appreciate it!

Np mate, I can't find my most recent comment too. Thought it should've popped at the top of the comments section. Gotta admit its not the best for this kind of stuff...i've managed to get better tone and response using Morley Bass Wah and found it far more convenient to use...truth be told this fuzz wah is a simple guitar pedal and definitely not that suitable for Cliffs tone...not any better than any other morley wah other than the fact it has built in fuzz....however fuzz is also way too thin and guitar like...and its in front of the chain in circuit...so you get instant Jason tone when the pedal is used stand alone...it obviously CAN be used with other proper stuff to get Cliff like tone...but if we want to be specific...its not the best wah out there...you can hear my later tone with morley bass wah as well on this channel if you wanna compare
yeah he answered before i could...i lightly touch the string in a specific spot(you have to find it, its different spot for each note depending how high of a squeel you want) and release immediately..and by bending i make it sound louder and more pronounced...those are called pinch harmonics and there are numbers of ways on how to do em...just find the one you are most comfortable with...search the net on instructions and play around with your bass...thanks for comments!
I love the sound, I am learning call of ktulu right now, but I can't afford expensive pedals like the morley wah, because I'm only 14, but I ordered a cheap multi fx pedal with distortion wah, so I can at least have a bit of the feeling
Awesome, keep playing thats the most important, gear comes second, i dont have the most expensive rig either, music stuff are crazily priced in my country....and truth be told i am still in search for a ‘perfect wah’ pedal
@@yeet6037 just start slowly and keep being motivated...and its not just how many notes you play but how you play them and whether you are in time or not...with bass timing is everything, and being the foundation and solid groove...but its fun to shred off something like this sometimes
@@KeeperOfCliffsTone yeah, for sure you need a good foundation to just support a song in the Background, but I'm playing in a Band, where we mostly play songs with simple bass lines so I just want to play more complicated stuff for myself
@@yeet6037 even in a simpler songs a bass can do a lot, and you can make it more interesting...james jamerson is a killer example of that, how a bass can do a song within a song and still be unique and interesting...play whatever you like and have fun!

Thank you... He did it live in 84 like that with an ibanez hd1500 pitch shifter/delay unit and on the original record he gained the same effect using two tracks where one was tapping harmonics to get pitch shift effect
hey man! how do you play that part at 0:25 ? i’ve been trying to play it for a few months now, but it never sounded as good as you did it. what is your secret

@@KeeperOfCliffsTone well my current rig is Squier J bass > big muff > crybaby > ts mini > bass clone > cs-3 so I should be alright other pedal wise
@@Reubiniho3 what did you buy mate? I am curious now.
Anesthesia pulling teeth is such a masterpiece. Theoretically it's mostly arpeggios yet it sounds amazing.
This tone sounds amazing, great job
Thank you!
Rock on!!
Amazing playing man! Big props to you!
I can get really close to Cliff's tone with my current gear which is
Aria Pro II SB-600
Morley Tel-Ray Power Wah Boost
Ibanez TS9
Ibanez HD1000
Shitty Fender Rumble 25
All i am currently missing the Boss CS-2/CS-3 whichever i can get my hands on preferably the CS-2
zcanyy maaan thats one hell of a rig you have, i would love to hear it if you make some videos...oh and thanks alot glad you think so!
Marijan Barać ruclips.net/video/tN6FfszLPvc/видео.html I recorded some random Ktulu licks
Cliff lives inside of you.
Incredible!
You are amazing!
Definitely has a place in heart...thank You!
Man, there's something about the way your setup sounds, very echo-y but in a good way. Those last few minutes are pure ecstasy. I'm getting my first bass for Christmas this year as well as the Cliff Burton tribute pedal and a big muff. I hope I can sound like you soon enough.
thanks alot man, yeah its a beautiful sound...its awesome you are getting bass and that stuff from the very beginning i am sure you will have loads of fun, and with what you are getting yes you will be having very simmilar tone, just play around with settings a bit....echo comes from delay which cliff used as well but i enchance it a little more to get that atmospheric wavy sound..thanks for your comment and if you need any more help feel free to stay in touch ;)
@@nakoete8521 cool thanks! ;)
Well thank you so much for these kind words friend, you can check out my latest "rest in peace cliff" video...with my newest setup...made my day with this comment! Greetings from Croatia!
Very impressive!! The best tribute to Cliff I have ever heard in RUclips so far. I hope you are in a Metallica tribute band of at least a band of your own. Keep up the playing and do more videos of how to play what you’re playing.
thanks alot man! very glad you like it, currenty im in no band at all unfortunately since guys i played with split apart(college work etc) and i did not find new ones to play with since i currently live in a small town where not many guys play, but there is always someone im sure i'll find a proper squad
I absolutely love this video, your playing is amazing and you perfectly capture the essence of Cliff Burton and his tone, its like hearing him play again.
Thank You very much...if you haven't please check out newer videos...this one is really outdated...tone has improved even more, so did gear...hopefully my playing as well :D thanks once more for kind words i truly appreciate it!
@@KeeperOfCliffsToneI'll be sure to have a look at your newer stuff! I subscribed! Thanks for the great playing :)
@@ConnorAR hope to dish out more videos when i find the time to record anything...its been a while but i am rather bussy...best tones i've ever had but i cant find the time to demonstrate them :)
@@KeeperOfCliffsTone I look forward to them, I understand dude life can be pretty crazy at times I hardly get time to play my bass anymore
i could listen to this for hours
fever thank you very much!
@@KeeperOfCliffsTone could you possibly make another video of just playing with the morley pedal as it is really fun to listen to :)
fever as the matter of fact i dont use it for quite some time now...playing different stuff nowdays, however most of my power adapters broke haha and delay pedal as well so i’d have to fix that before i play anything....and if you mean just morley on its own you can hear it in my call of ktulu video
@@KeeperOfCliffsTone ok thank you
This is amazing probably the best pulling teeth video Iv seen
Thank you very much!! Glad you like it
Wow, this sounds exactly like Cliff's tone.
@@KeeperOfCliffsTone I think bend is possible on 21 fret but solo you kinda need 24
Jesus Christ, that’s fucking rad. I literally started playing bass the other day and this is honestly the goal. Good shit.
thanks alot, very glad you like it, keep pounding \m/
theres geddy lee, theres cliff burton, and theres Marijan Barac
oh come on man, wow :D thanks alot, this really put a smile on my face early in the morning
Came here to see someone play Anestehesia. Heard the best Cliff Burton tribute ever and an awesome bass cover of Toccata & Fugue!
THANKS! glad someone picked up a few other parts as well...really thanks a bunch im flattered
Recently i’m getting notifications for some comments but i cant seem to reach them for some reason, i apologise if i dont reply, Cake Doge you included mate :(
Np mate, I can't find my most recent comment too. Thought it should've popped at the top of the comments section. I was going to ask what do you think, this was my old Cliff Burton live tone, I cut down some highs from this recently, I will make a demo sometime soon just for the tone ruclips.net/video/UhgMOwoCilE/видео.html
Amazing tone and playing! Love the fusion of ur sound and cliff’s
Thank You very much! I love your profile hahaha cracked me up
U can play with Metallica for replacement of Cliff Burton. Great talent! Best Anesthesia cover i ever heard
woah dude, thanks alot man, glad you like it, im flattered :D
@@KeeperOfCliffsTone every bass player can play anesthesia, but only c.burton carries next step, and you did that here.
@@winterkhan this could easily be my fav comment to date...thank you so much man, i really appreciate it \m/

@@KeeperOfCliffsTone absolutely no problem. I've found s Signature cliff wah on reverb, and im gonna buy it. So excited! Ill keep you updated
That's some high action
OneSneakyNinja2 yeah i actually like to have a bit more tension and no fret buzz at all

when your doing those hammer ons and pull of at around 7:30 ....... is there tabs for that ?
im not sure i play by ear man
That's Toccata and Fugue in D minor by Bach.

Try songsterr
Yeah best Morley PWF video you actually played what we all wanted to hear
How to you get this high pitched bend at 3:34
Gabriel De la Ossa thanks for the information
yeah he answered before i could...i lightly touch the string in a specific spot(you have to find it, its different spot for each note depending how high of a squeel you want) and release immediately..and by bending i make it sound louder and more pronounced...those are called pinch harmonics and there are numbers of ways on how to do em...just find the one you are most comfortable with...search the net on instructions and play around with your bass...thanks for comments!
Marijan Barać Thanks for helping me. Keep up the great content
Marijan Barać so its like bending a tapping harmony?
Adam Aiman in a sense yeah
for some reason i fell asleep listening to this video a few times, the bass with this tone sounds so beautiful it makes me sleepy
I know how you feel...after playing that i went straight to bed! Just kidding, beautiful comment, glad you like it!!
@@KeeperOfCliffsTone yeah I will. I hope, that I can play like you one day
@@yeet6037 just start slowly and keep being motivated...and its not just how many notes you play but how you play them and whether you are in time or not...with bass timing is everything, and being the foundation and solid groove...but its fun to shred off something like this sometimes
This is so hauntingly beautiful
MetalMilitia_4221 thank you so much!
Man Your gonna make me cry its the same tone as cliff and a mini extra eco tone or whatever
Thank youuu!!
Impressive not only for the inspired playing, but also for the tone capture, considering what you had to work with!
Thank you! Once you figure out what actually does what in accordance to the tone you are after, there is more than one way to skin a cat....and of course proper technique has a LOT to do with that as well ;) cheers
Yes I finally found the perfect cover. Great job
thanks for watching, glad you like it...still not really perfect since i had no drums to back up...it was more of a playthrough of the tone(which can be heared better in 'audio only' video i have...this one was to show it was really me playing)
Bro I was completely flabbergasted when you pulled out "Far Beyond The Sun" XD
Hahah yeah i accidentally figured out that part and thought i'd include it
Call of Ktulu @ 6:01 for anyone wondering
That tone... feels divine
its really beautiful tone...cliff or not...great melodic and atmospheric sound...cheers!
Amazing as always
Thank you my friend!
This is so good i’ve got a morley boost wah and a big muff on the way to try and get a tone like this. Great work you neeed more subs for this video alone.
Slice Spitfire thank you! Just add some delay to it and you’re good! Its amazing how much flavour it adds to the tone
will try when everything arrives thank you for the suggestion.
Nice job!!
how did you get that reverb maan?, btw you play so good, incredible job man, Cliff is vrey proud of you.
Its actually a delay, read the description....thank you very much!
Great video. Cliff's tone is so sinister and eery
Thank You! Check out newer videos for even more of a sinister tones ;)
I hope that bass was at least 18+ lol
Master Chief ahahahah well... ;P
This is amazing, if there was no video, I would think this was actually cliff
If i didnt know better, i would think a real table commented on my bass playing 😆

hey, i have a fuzz wah (telray) . i need some assistance on my sound / signal change, epiphone thunder bird --multi effects ( acting as a compresser ) --- morley power fuzz wah ( not using the fuzz)--- to my ibanez tubescreamer mini --- to my fender rumble 40( ( mids at 3) ( highs at 2 ) (bass at 1) o'clock )
You're*
Bro that FWTBT intro w the lighter notes is epic man
Thank you... He did it live in 84 like that with an ibanez hd1500 pitch shifter/delay unit and on the original record he gained the same effect using two tracks where one was tapping harmonics to get pitch shift effect
hey man! how do you play that part at 0:25 ? i’ve been trying to play it for a few months now, but it never sounded as good as you did it. what is your secret
hard to explain...those are pulloffs only...as you can see i do not pluck with my right hand...just fast pulloffs...i cannot recall which notes i play exactly since im nowhere near my bass now
Not to mention I never expected that to be sounding that good with a precision bass
3:34 what did you do there? sounds so damn cool!
Pinch harmonics! Or 'scream' check em out online if you wonder how to do it...its hard to explain...i believe i did somewhere in the comments
@@KeeperOfCliffsTone thanks man, I'll check that out!
