@TheBishopOfBarton Thank you for watching! It took a bit of trial and error but the result was definitely worth the effort and I hope it helps someone who decides to tackle it.
@mr.dnpalmer Thanks for watching and I agree! The feel for me was worth it and having the switches operate inline with the procedure is important when the goal is realism. Hype did an amazing job with the development of the simulated H145.
Good work!. Have you put in an order for the Somium head set? Flying a helicopter in VR is just so much better then flat screens (I have triple 50 inch). Though it might take some work to get the mask image initially right for the mixed reality with the overhead switches.
@seattime4075 Hi, thank you for the comment and watching! I'm holding off on headsets because I think with 2025 we may see alot coming to market. Also the next issue is pop outs do not work in VR. The idea with the masking would be not only to have the outside and physical cockpit but also replace any physical screens with virtual like the iPad, GTNs and MFDs but the issue will be touch. My GTNs and my 10" respond to it and that functionality is needed. Definitely a few challenges!
@@Rotor-Sims Of course, silly me, pop outs don't work in VR... Maybe easier/still expensive - although maybe not for what you need to do, to use wrap around screens/projectors and remove parts of the shell in the 3D model were required (leave the displays for popouts) with a program like 'Gestaltor'. Anyway, excellent video, wait for your future updates with interest.
@seattime4075 Thanks for the comment! I think we are not far off from achieving what we would like in VR and sims as a whole. I'm grateful for what we do have currently. What a time to be alive! I'm currently practicing auto rotations in my motion sim. Ouch my back 🤣
This is absolutely brilliant information. Thank you for sharing all this.

You did right. High cost but worth it for realism.

I'm surprised that he didn't build it with a HEMS version panel as that's by far the most interesting version to fly.
@TheBishopOfBarton Agreed, it's alot of fun. He is going to be giving the option for the extra buttons for the HEMS.
