- These non car people just don't understand why we do the things we do. As car enthusiasts, we love modifying cars, spending money on them, tuning them, upgrading them, and maintaining them. Whether it's a classic or brand new, we all have different tastes. Unfortunately, these normies think that we're spending too much on our car. Or that we're just compensating. Or maybe our fast car is ultimately just pointless. Oh, how I pity their naivety. If you love cars, than nod along with me as we facepalm and discuss the types of non car guys you've probably already met. I think India might be a good place if you're okay with hybrids but not the Prius, because Prius is one of the rarer cars to find in India which sell for less than 50 lakh (5 million) INR. Seriously, I've seen more Camry Hybrids and Rolls Royce than Prius in my country because I've never seen a Prius in real life. And I said Rolls-Royce because I've seen a Phantom (or I think it was actually the Ghost) on the opposite side of the road.

My favorite kind of the non car people are the ones that just don’t understand cars, but have a growing interest in them. I have a friend that didn’t know how to check oil or know where the battery was, but they kept asking me questions and now they are changing fluids on their own. They ordered a set of wheels and recently put them on and I have never seen them this happy before. They were missing out on such a great hobby. I hate when people make fun of others for not having the same knowledge level as them because that steers away so many people from the car scene
I once saw a used Volvo 240 sold online for just 2 grand, and my mom just assumes me I need to be rich due to "maintence costs", and she thinks maintence in new cars are "cheaper". Damn it...

She's not wrong. Luxury cars have higher maintenance costs. Maintenance in a new Camry would cost less due to parts being easier to obtain.

An old car can get costly if a lot of issues crop up and your paying an average U.S. mechanic to fix everything. If you live in a country with high labor rates like US you DIY with a vintage car. You'd be surprised how much some parts cost for modern mainstream Japanese cars but your probably one of those people that leases a new car every 3 years so you never have to deal with any maintenance beyond oil changes, air filters, and tire rotations. A modern Camry is more luxurious and complex than any Volvo 240. In some developing countries a Camry is considered a luxury car now.

There are a few cars like the Mitsubishi Eclipse that use a 3 cylinder and very few cars a v4 engine. Bugatti uses 16 cylinder engines as well (I think that's the most yet). I don't know if you were just talking about V configuration engines though

That Prius Jesus one reminds me soooo much of this math teacher at my school who just happens to be religious and drives a Prius. And oh my god do i have a story to tell ya all about her.
One day we where working on some financial assignment thingy (I have no idea what the hell it was to be honest). Basically there was this part of the assignment where we had to pick a car that was no more than $15,000. Of course with me being the car enthusiast, i spent way too much time on this question than anything. I found a heck of a bargain, A 2nd gen Bug eyes WRX STIi with 150,000ks on the dial, like new condition and only for $14,500 AUD.
This bitch of a teacher came around and she said 'Why on earth would you want that old pile of junk? Why not just get a Prius?' I told her that life was to short to drive boring cars and its my money, so therefore she cant do jack shit.
And minutes later she picks on this car chick in my class. She made a extremely sexist comment saying "Why can't you just be a normal girl? Cars are for boys only". I got up out of my chair and said "Excuse me?!?!?! I don't know about you but that is extremely sexist. There are girls out there that love cars just as much as I do. Car girls like her are not weird, in fact they are a rare gift from God himself!'. Of course, with this bitch being so heavily religious, i got sent into detention. Honestly i think it was worth it.

It took me some long quality time with my car driving for Uber Eats to realize that cars are not merely transportation. Many have a soul of sorts - my 1.8t B5.5 Passat being one of them. I'm sure most car guys can agree with me that cars can have just as much personality(and at times attitude) as the humans who drive and work on them.

The only way to NOT damage the environment like a normal car would be to try to invest in hydrogen-cell-powered cars.
They make up but being recyclable, sure you’ll pollute creating it but you’ll eventually reach point (reached rather quickly due to their high efficiency and potential of clean energy) we’re a gas car polluted similarly and from there the gas car will only keep polluting more as it’s power source isn’t recyclable, you will also keep pollution away from populated areas were it does the most harm.

I'm starting to look deeper into cars so maybe a couple years down the line I'll drop a few thousand on a cheap car and mod it up to get some more fun in my life. I've always been on the bought side of the built vs bought debate, but I'm starting to get bored of stock vehicles.
