    Thanks for the detailed video. What time of year did you do the O trek? I'm going in 10 day (End of December).

      Happy to help! We went in late January, so their summer. The first 2 days were hot, but the rest were cold. We hope you have a great time and stay safe!

    Hey--leaving Saturday for the W trek! Thanks for the video, super helpful. How did you get tuna packets through customs? I thought meat wasn't allowed!

      Thank you, and we're glad it helped! During our research, we found that as long as it's pre-packaged food, you shouldn't have an issue. The customs agents aren't consistent, though, so some might allow it where others might not. We hope you enjoy your trip!

    Hi, thanks for this video. We will be starting our O trek on Jan 24, 2025. It is summer there but will there be snow up in the mountains that we need to bring micro spikes? What do you do if someone is injured on the trail? We were told to call a ranger but how to when there aren’t reception? I guess you simply go to the next campsite?

      We're happy this helped! The weather can definitely vary, so be prepared with cold weather clothing. However, we did not take micro spikes and felt comfortable hiking the entire time in our boots despite the small amount of snow. We traveled with a small first aid kit, but didn't have any cell service. We would have planned on walking to the nearest camp to get help or if we run across someone who does have service.

    Go to the city of Valdivia, in the south of Chile. There are excellent beers, chocolates, cheeses and seafood.

    Can you take fuel for the portable small stoves on the plane if you check in your bag? Fule canister like the one on the video?

    • @aronanderika
      @aronanderika  Год назад

      That's a great question! Unfortunately, you're not allowed to take fuel of any kind on the plane. There are several outdoor shops in Puerto Natales that you can purchase them from. There are also some hostels where some previous hikers leave leftover fuel.

    Hi wasn' t too cold in those sleeping bags? Which is comfort temperature?

    • @aronanderika
      @aronanderika  Год назад

      We were really comfortable! Our sleeping bags are rated for 20°F/-6°C which is the general recommendation. If you get colder than most people, you can always wear layers or bring under armor. The hike's defiantly all about layers, so you might have enough already with the sleeping bags.

      Thanks. But those -6 degree was risk or comfort temperature?

    • @aronanderika
      @aronanderika  Год назад

      @@TheIzaak82 Apologies for the confusion. The -6 degree sleeping bag was comfort temperature.
