Thank you for building this. my mom was a teen mom. we lived in the projects till I was 10 and we moved into our home in a really good neighborhood. Love to reminisce sometimes because she made it very homey and comfy when the door closed you would never knew we was in the projects. I want to create a sims with the same background story

I’m 26. Spent my early adult life being so mad, cruel and hateful at my mum. Couldn’t believe she would birth me into this lifestyle. Time changes you. I love her so much. She really was that girl, between working as a nurse and taking care of me and all my brothers. She always gave us the cosiest, cleanest and comfiest home. When I see comments like this it reminds me just how wonderful of a mum I have. I will die a happy girly if I turn out even a tiny bit like she was. I hope you have a good day. Same I grew up in not so great neighborhood and still live in a not so good one. I love building where I grew up. Yeah fancy homes and suburban homes can be fun, but where I grew up is always in my heart.
For the first 19 years of my life I lived in a 20m/2 room with my mom lol. It was old hotel for factory workers. Bad neighborhood for people who were passing by but great for people who lived there. All neighbors would take turn to looking out for kids who were playing outside, everyone helped everyone. Even our drunks were liked lol. I miss how our neighbors were but I don't miss shared bathroom lol I did build like my old neighborhood many times and I loved it every time lol
Builds like this mean a lot to me. Too often are kids put down for where they live or how little money they have. It feels good to see the reality of the world rebuilt with such respect. The real world is so hard, and scary, and rough and mean, but even the hardest places have joy and warmth.

The junky but organized desk area reminded me of my dad’s old apartment. It was boring sometimes and I would play solitaire on his computer all day.
Sameee honestly. My dad had a similar desk area growing up and I used to love playing his weird windows 98 games on it lol so good
Also, my 10 year old was really stressed out about the second floor balcony. She needed to know if you were going to put anything there or leave it, and it was very suspenseful.
Oh no! I feel like I’ve let her down! Hahah it honestly kinda slipped my mind to decorate the balconies 🤦🏻♀️ that’s so cute that she was invested though! I’m flattered haha 💖
This is such a creative and gorgeous build, it’s so refreshing to see simmers building middle to lower class houses and not some wild mansion. It adds so much variety to story telling and the game ahhhh so cool! V well done

If not I'm glad those who never grew up in the projects/the hood/low income/subsidized housing( whatever some may want to call it) ,it was home.
My mom was a single mom of myself and my younger brother. She created a place that I never wanted to move from. Wallpaper, some hand me down furniture with a few new pieces . Very minimal clean but cozy. My old best friend had a father that worked for general motors making good money. The mother worked at a store close by their house( not in the hood). They never bought anything nice. She was very jealous of where I lived because it was clean, not cluttered. We had food in the fridge and I even got to have a guinea pig which was a huge deal at 14. But we weren't well off . We were low income. Mom worked nights. I had to care for my younger brother. But we were a family. We had a yard and mom even had a little veggie garden. I got a little pocket money to go buy new clothes at goodwill. I had a sewing machine and added stuff. I made things. The memories are so wonderful. My mom passed last year from covid complications. I miss her so much. She was my world. Now at newly 48 and my bro at 36 we share a 2 bedroom apt. We are all we have. Mom and our nan taught us that family was everything. For us it is still.❤

i love realistic builds like this! i didn't grow up in low income housing, but a lot of my neighborhood friends did, and this reminds me of those days in elementary school when a group of us would bike over to one of their houses to play. i love playing with lower income families in the sims as it reminds me of my own childhood❤ thank you for this amazing build! i cant wait to use it for my families

I love builds like this. I love recreating the style of houses i always saw in Venezuela, chipped paint, gated windows, heavy fur blankets with the virgin mary in it. Its where i grew up and i love doing everything i can to recreate them in thw sims

this makes me really wanna learn how to build in the sims. idk buildings like these mean a lot to me, and reminds me that everybody is figuring out life. thank you for this incredible build. the only thing I struggle with is literally porches, roofs and floor plan.

I love it! I'm curious where you get your inspiration for your builds? I love how realistic they are, and a file filled with builds of this style would be so perfectly immersive. I know I have a problem because I was delivering groceries to an apartment the other day and I was like "This would make a good sims build..." and started awkwardly videoing and snapping pictures 🤣

The exterior for this one was inspired by some apartment buildings I saw recently on my drive to the farmers market lol I actually did awkwardly take pics of them too 😂 I have a bunch of pics on my camera roll of random peoples houses hahah. The interior was inspired by the apartment complex a few of my friends lived in a while back. But yea, I take inspiration from real life, from photography, from other peoples builds. Wherever I can get it!
I want my save file to be very realistic and more rundown than fancy. I want it to be cozy and nostalgic and relatable ☺️

For the future, you could just copy an item if it’s the same. Like your roofs over the doors.
I usually do, but the front porch pieces were being weird to copy and place so I did it manually.

Thank you! So to make it really function as apartments you’d have to have the For Rent expansion pack. If you don’t have it then it’ll just be a regular “house” 💖

This is incredible! How did you get the grass to look like that and the world to be empty from those ugly premade buildings? Is it a custom version of Newcrest or a mod, and if so, can you please link it?
The blowtorch mod removes the buildings and “dated” deco objects. You install it like lighting mods: www.patreon.com/posts/blowtorch-for-ep-94488117

I'm not familiar I am from Asia, so how low is low income? The house looks more than comfortable to me
I’m not sure how it is where you live, but in the United States there are government programs for qualifying low income individuals/families that help you with utilities and rent. So there are apartments like these that are complexes paid for by the government (sometimes some is paid, sometimes fully paid I believe).

@@wolfxdreamer6860As someone who lives in the NYC projects(NYCHA),,,THIS IS A QUITE LITERALLY GRADES ABOVE, some of the buildings here aren’t up to current building codes because they were built in the 20’s.
I think “lower/low end apartments” sounds better than “low income (projects)”. But idk I’m just one black person.
I’m really sorry if the wording offends you in any way. I just like to keep my builds as real as possible. And in reality, that’s exactly what they are. “Low income urban development projects” and there’s nothing wrong with that. This is/has been a reality for a LOT of people, and some of my best friends lived/still live in similar apartments (white, Hispanic, and black). I built these apartments because they fit into my game, and they are also in honor of those friends and their homes. 💖

@@theoriginldwgenuine question, why are you side eyeing the title? that's what these apartments are called in real life. and usually you have to be considered poor and have little to no income to live there. in my opinion it's not shaming anyone to say they are low income or living in low income housing, it doesn't define them. of course everyone may have different opinion, which is why i am asking your thoughts 😊
